You bet 50% of the comments here are SRB2 Kart. And for good reason, this theme just fits so perfectly! Didn't even know the song had a buildup at the beginning.
The notes at 1:09 and 1:49 almost sound like Sonic Mania's invincibility, which made me initially think this was made just for Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart (since it's the Sonic franchise)...until I looked at the music credits and found out it was this song. It's still cool music to hear in the menu before the next race! (or rather next "free play" since I'm making a custom track (and it's weird without a tutorial, so I can't get my finish line to actually function yet).
Like most folks, I discovered this song through Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart, and now its the theme of Ring Racers. Everytime I hear it, I fall in love with it all over again. This and the rest of the album as I eventually took a listen have been a joy!
Funny how this is the only FM Funk track that's actually getting noticed. There's literally two more of these FM Funk albums and literally none of them have as much recognition as this song does 😅
That intro brings shivers down my spine with how nostalgically good it is This song reminds me of a time I never got to properly experience due to being born right in the middle of it. It just, feels so nostalgic and fun like it's inviting you to forget all of your problems and just, have fun doing whatever you please. It's songs like these that I really love, songs that take you back to times that feel the best, even if you never experienced it yourself. This is definitely gonna be a song I'll cry to in the future, due to how hard-hitting that feeling is. This is easily my favourite electronic song of all time.
Everyone is saying this song is similar to something along the lines of a Sonic game track, which may be true but I’ve always thought this song seems like it could fit into a Castlevania game. Especially the first minute of it.
Amazing tunes. This reminds me PlayStation 1 Era...and music from classic fightings Tekken 1-2,Battle Arena Toshinden series,Fighters’ Impact,Tobal 2 and others (1995-1999) Japanese games.
I have no idea what this SRB2 Kart is. I know this song from a Newgrounds video called We Played Nintendo. That video with this song gives me some strong nostalgia every time. It also introduced me to this entire album and the others in the series.
Well, for context, SRB2Kart is short for "Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart" - it's a mod of a Sonic fan game called Sonic Robo Blast 2 (said fangame in itself being a mod of DOOM), Kart basically turning the game into a kart racer like Mario Kart, and it happens to use this song as its main theme. SRB2, and by extension Kart, are mainly popular for their extensive modding scene - you can put pretty much any character into Kart if you just draw a few sprites and there's plenty of custom maps too. If you're into racing games at all I'd recommend it.

Some people thought this was a custom remix of Sonic Mania's theme while they went through the menus of Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart, I can understand why. there are similar points in this track, and it's in a Sonic the Hedgehog fan game.
I was working on my old windows xp computer, and a folder called fluvial beat deposits was in the documents. It had a seemingly random assortment of TH-cam video thumbnail pictures in it? Pertaining to V2 of SRB2K, the update is gonna be really fun. Alot of features are a little much unless you are playing with friends but it's still really exciting to see that they want to make a sonic racing experience. And said kart fangame's sequel.
I am IN LOVE with the four notes that repeat throughout most of the song. Something about the way it’s done is GENIUS.
That's called an arpeggio, basically a chord, but the notes are played individually instead of at the same time.
