They added stuff that wasn't really there. It's a common phenomenon where people misremember what it was like and estimate due to lack of accurate information resulting in a facsimile of reality. The private servers didn't really have the genuine data which is why it seems easier on live.

Almost 2 decades of experience with all the mechanics, either because they were there, private server estimations, and years of a knowledge base built up. People had no idea what they were doing back then, and a lot of people were probably clickers. I know back in TBC I was terrible. I could barely take my eyes off hot bar. No add ons at all, no idea what was going on, mechanics were new to me, etc.

They need to up the soft enrage timer on gruul, increase shatter damage and quicken the effect timing, increase cave in damage and make the time between shatters quicker as well and this shit could be hard. And actually take gear to kill. Lets not make TBC boring as fuck. Please.

You have to factor in the fact that people weren't that good back in the day overall, and not only that but peoples computer systems, internet.. everything back in the day were not as efficient.. etc. You have to make it hard because of todays standards IMO. Making it original gruuls I think would still not be enough.

@@Slanderbot As i know Blizz nerfed everything during BC, Dungeon and Raid Bosses/Trash. It was around -20-30% Hp and Dmg. I think some Trash in Dungeon (shattered halls) even got more nerfs.

This is mostly prenerf. Prenerf hp and almost all abilities. Shatter looked under tuned considering how much stacking was going on. If shatter was prenerf that would have probably wiped them...but all in all its most prenerf. This is just faceroll with the improved itemalization. They should probably increase boss hp somewhat to account for the better gear versions though.

I still have a video of the mt of the guild a warrior full epic half S2 and T2 one shoted by a hit just 4 secs after the fight began. 1 hit from grull and he died with full hp bar.. And about the shatter a full s3 bear got hit with 40k damage in 1 hit at the last mins of the fight. Those numbers were different i can tell you that...

Cataclysm sure gets a lot of hate from people, and some of it is justified. But Firelands was to WoW what Jesus was to the bible. Raids should be categorized as pre-Firelands or post-Firelands, that's how huge it was in my honest opinion. Raids like BRF and Antorus would not exist if Firelands didn't pave the way.
What was game changing about Firelands? The only ground breaking fights to my memory there were Alysrazor and Rhyolith, neither of which were very tough.

For one thing, Shannox being a patrol boss that you can engage anywhere, basically allowing u to pick the terrain u wanted to fight him on. Rhyolith was absolute genius game design at the time. Saying "only" just doesn't take away from how out of the norm the boss was for WoW back in the day. I remember reading that he was actually unkillable due to a bug or being overtuned at launch. Regardless, it's basically the first boss people do when clearing Firelands and yet had the coolest mechanic in WoW up until that point. Beth'tilac was amazing as well, also not necessarily overtuned but that's beauty of it. The fights themselves were only as difficult as ur raid group made them to be. If u were organised as a group, u would be able to clear the first 4 bosses more easily than people who were geared to the teeth. And Alysrazor was by no means easy. And still, the verticality, moving while casting, all of that stuff started at Alysra. There was nothing like Alysra and Rhyolith up to that point, and to some extent Beth as well. Firelands put its best foot forward and had the absolute best first few bosses of any raid. I had raided everything that came before Firelands with the exception of ZG, and I can't remember a single point where I had ever thought raiding was fun until Firelands. That's my opinion and u're free to disagree.

Now, when every boss has 10 phases and 50 abilities you need to consider during the fight raiders are way more skilled so fights like these seem like they are very easy. Man I can’t wait for TBC. I remember as a warlock looking at the gear that dropped from t4/t5 content compared to heroic dungeons and decided not not even raid until t6 came out. When t6 came out, I pugged t4/t5 for the attunement and got invited to BT in heroic blues and some badge gear. And wrecked shit. Sure, I was a warlock, so it was no surprise that I wrecked shit, but the t4/t5 content is on the level of MC imo. And like in MC, its almost useless for most classes.

People have been conditioned to deal with more than 4 mechanics, proper rotations, moving out of dead zones etc. It's not supposed to be hard, It's supposed to be fun. Even with those simple mechanics I'm going to enjoy Gruul everytime because what retail wow is missing which is pretty important for an MMO is a community. It's about getting together with the bois and have some fun to relax and escape, It's about having fun rivalries between other guilds on the server. Current retail feels more like a job than a game.
People forget that tbc raids were made to be easier then naxx40 cause blizzard didn't like only 1% of players seeing the content they put a lot of time into making. Considering naxx40 was easy in 2020/2021 it was a given these raids were going to be easy.
yeah, far fewer took the time to comb through hundreds of forum threads for strats; information was far less organized and accessible then - still within anyone's reach but took more time investment

If you mean class colours, you can do it in game when you click on right pointing arrow, and then on small "i" sign that will lead you to customising your raid frames size/colour. I believe you can also go to interface settings and find it there too

I've just noticed that asmon has 12k hp without raid buffs. I remember how in TBC seeing a tank with over 10k hp without buffs was a sign of a really geared tank.

I’ll tell you now, that raid is after the big nerf, Blizzard said they were going to do pre nerf everything in all raids and dungeons but they changed their mind, it’s the health and damage is after nerf and mechanics are pre nerf 💀
it is easy because people got better.... I remember how I had to teach people what their spells do, how threat worked etc. in this dungeon every time I tanked for our B team (our guild used to have 2 cores PvE and PVP... PVP people usually raided only one or two specific raids for one specific item until they got it which was fine BUT they did it with B team which was alts + new people + fresh 70s + randoms if needed).

That Gruul's Lair is weak as hell, I remember back in the day if a group even looked at first boss without Mostly Kara Gear people would get their shit pushed in. Then again we gotta consider that every player in Beta has every Raid Consume under the sun, which doesn't happen in a vast majority of raids, so there is credit for that.

If you mean class colours, you can do it in game when you click on right pointing arrow, and then on small "i" sign that will lead you to customising your raid frames size/colour. I believe you can also go to interface settings and find it there too

You're going to wipe harder in tbc than you have ever wiped before if you actually play and get in a progression guild.
This group of streamers and neckbeards with beta keys who play all day long had 3 tanks die before it became a free for all with half the raid dead on a fight they know the couple of mechanics on..pugs and normal guilds will get annihilated in their blues.

Two things: These tier 4 fight were tuned to 2.0 talents, there were buffs through the patches.
2nd: PVE is a choreo, once you learn it, doesn't matter how hard it is
People had 10 years to practice on priv servers, fights are easy big surprise

I've just noticed that asmon has 12k hp without raid buffs. I remember how in TBC seeing a tank with over 10k hp without buffs was a sign of a really geared tank.

I’ll tell you now, that raid is after the big nerf, Blizzard said they were going to do pre nerf everything in all raids and dungeons but they changed their mind, it’s the health and damage is after nerf and mechanics are pre nerf 💀

it is easy because people got better.... I remember how I had to teach people what their spells do, how threat worked etc. in this dungeon every time I tanked for our B team (our guild used to have 2 cores PvE and PVP... PVP people usually raided only one or two specific raids for one specific item until they got it which was fine BUT they did it with B team which was alts + new people + fresh 70s + randoms if needed).
Dude i remember this raid being so hard back in the days with my guild, and we were doing TK t5 bosses. This grp is full blue geared raid. Tbc classic is gonna be another zug zug fest

That Gruul's Lair is weak as hell, I remember back in the day if a group even looked at first boss without Mostly Kara Gear people would get their shit pushed in.
Then again we gotta consider that every player in Beta has every Raid Consume under the sun, which doesn't happen in a vast majority of raids, so there is credit for that.
This only prooves how overtuned priv servers are.

Grull with 14 stacks is insane, here it was joke.. this weak tanks should have hard time even on 7 stacks. Blindeye should hit him 10times more :D Maulgar with enrage was instashot.
His guild in the beginning musta sucked I remember pugging this shit and finishing 20 minutes later every week cuz my guild was like “why would I do that raid”
Im pretty sure that is the nerfed version of tbc raids. Probably they are testing how ppl are handling, just to make sure if they need to bring back the original difficulty (without bugs ofc) or keep this easier way.
Hopefully it wont be that easy on release.
