I have so many memories of TBC. One of my favorite encounters the entire expansion was Karazhan Opera Event. I enjoyed it every time my guild went into it. We used to do lottery rolls to see what play we would get that week.
The whole raid was just SO much fun. Whoever designed it is a genius plain and simple.
The play is week based. Every1 gets same play in specific weeks. Else thats just private server stuff
we bet on it as well. I lost so god damn much gold haha

12:00 - Back during the Original TBC, I started something with my old Guild in regards to Opera. Each Raider would place 10g, and guess which of the 3 Opera Plays would appear (R&J, BBW, OZ). Whoever guessed wrong, had to pay the Guild Bank, and whoever guessed right, didn't have to pay. Was a fun little thing we did.
I played WoW from launch until the Dark Temple was released in TBC. We were the first NA Horde guild to beat Illidan. I quit the game immediately after that raid, and haven't played it since. I followed the Classic launch a bit, and now heard they are adding TBC to it. I recalled this being my absolute favourite raid of all. This video is giving me insane nostalgia, thank you for this.
classic karazahn has not been removed from the game btw you can enter both versions in retail

Going on guild forums to find out which team I was in for Kara runs, us racing the other team in separate vent rooms so we could meet up in Shatt and talk about X Y Z and show off the loot we had just won.
Ahhhh the nostalgia... I sincerely miss the feeling of raiding way back when 🤩

Something about that era of gaming something this good this big this in depth and it wasn't common then as well as Blizzard being in their Heavy weight days and the difficulty ment aside from alliance versus horde people had to work together to do stuff you couldn't buy the gear and everything wasn't soloable at leavel 10 in gray armor . You had to work you had to plan you had to strategize and the pay out was so much more glorious becuase it took a whole day to get one segment done yet you felt incredibly accomplished.
First time being invited to a raid and finding out there was a correct way to play my class.

I remember back in the day pugs would usually skip Maiden cuz it was so hard and no one knew how to do it right. Same with the 2 dragon bosses.

@@BattousaiHBr yeah this is why on pservers they buff these raids hard. 15-30% more damage, bigger health pools and buffed mechanics. I’m afraid this is going to be too easy and boring.
I really dont get how people can go back to that TBC grind. Its was a magnificent expansion, full of good memories in my book. But damn, i wouldnt touch it anymore, not even for an hour.
Nostalgia if anything, and the grind in TBC is much more rewarding then the one in classic.
This comment would make more sense on a classic video, kill 100 000 bugs in silithus and get a cool trinket, and then do it again but inside this raid for an even cooler trinket.

You have given me more than you ever know with this video. before jobs, before girlfriends, there was this raid. reliving this memory means a lot to me. god tier warrior, I hope to get into it when classic BC drops.
Ive noticed when Asmon plays WoW he doesnt do rotations. He just press random stuff. Its actually stunning.
you don't have to rotate as war tank, just spam revenge & shield block on cooldown with devastate mixed in.

@@limpdaddy7147 even in classic there's a rotation: bloodthirst -> revenge if its up -> heroic strike -> sunder
He frantically scurries around to regain threat like hes never touched warrior. Idk if it's to be funny or he really doesnt understand how to gen threat. You can clearly see him not optimizing his threat output. Warrior shouldn't be having the kind of threat issues he runs in to.
It's actually very frustrating to watch as another warrior

For Netherspite: a tank can solo tank the red beam for one phase if you do the move in move out tactic. You can always go back into a beam if the stacks didn't run out. Therefore if you move out for like 3 to 4 seconds you won't get the stacks for that time and still hold his aggro. Yes the boss gets damage reduce then, but if you move back in the stacks he has run out

i have never seen asmongold use "taunt" ability in my life.
I remember our Guild used invis pots for some of the trash to skip, because they were harder than the bosses.

theres a pog enchant IIRC from the mobs they skipped before opera. Can drop from any of the mobs before Opera.

That netherspite fight was actually painful to watch. The fact that they even got it that far down is sad. They’re not doing the fight even close to right....

@@MrScart35 Yeah Esfand has a lot to learn in the ways of tanking. But he's quite arrogant. I like him a lot but he is very stubborn and doesn't seem to pick things up very well.
He's a joke on retail servers, private servers u had to run back when he phases or have some insanely geared tank. Seems like here any greenie idiot can roll over him. Sad.

@@garyc2630 I get that, but progression is also part of the fun. If you oneshot each raid its gonna be a boring. And you wont strenghten any bond with your mates for clearing said raid. Or be motivated to gear up more or preparing so you can clear it. Loot should be behind content you have to work for. Imo. Otherwise it loses its significance and achievement.
I have the feeling that Heroic dungeons' trash is gonna be more challenging than raiding.

@@chipchippahson afaik it was the bunch of bugs Kael had at release, like invisible flamestrikes, mini bosses gaining aggro while dead, etc.
@@MrAntAve Lol what? No way dude.. Sunstrider was inarguably hard based on the mechanics at the time. He was a major stepping stone in terms of difficulty level in comparison to everything before. Believe me I still have my A'Dal title and it was a GRIND to finally get him down, and we were a Sunwell guild so we didn't suck. He had 5 phases that had to be very synchronized. You couldn't wipe on the bosses before Council in BT if you TRIED if you were a guild capable of downing him. I'll even go so far as to say I bet money he will even be a pug killer for the first few weeks of Classic when he drops.
@@BattousaiHBr Sunstrider was far more complex than any current dungeon boss. By a mile. You're confusing higher key levels and affixes with complexity. That isn't complexity, It's a higher output of raw damage to the members and stress on the healer. The mechanics are simple, it's just the higher you go you better get them right. There isn't a single thing complex about Devos, at all. Run to the circle when prompted, then grab orbs run them back to aforementioned circle and use cd's to not die from wind. The end. It's just in higher keys the raw output is increased to a point you better mind your p's and q's on a plus 15 and can't mess up for the most part or if you do you're done. I'm telling ya dude, watch when this drops and the failure rate of pugs on him the first few weeks.
@@BattousaiHBr Mord isn't more complex than Sunstrider. At all. What is that ideal based on? At 50 percent she does Echoes. She pushes back players with Devastation, pretty much that's a wrap. Mind you (this isn't a brag by the way) I've done all my 15's this season. Again. It's raw OUTPUT based on the higher key. Not complexity. Plenty of the mechanics on Sunstrider are relevant to a raid member. It's a dance, you go out of sync it's over. Go look at Preach's video on it, that gives it context. Please save the link by the way, feel free to call me back :p I really have to note as well I was one of those people in Classic when certain streamers claimed "But when THIS comes out it's going to be a problem" when referring to the increasing tiers in Classic that said nah dude people will steam roll it.
No curse of reck at all and not applying or replacing curse of the elements on multiple bosses? What are the warlocks doing? Curse of the Elements was not on all of moreoes fight (5:54), knocked off during curator (20:20), not on for all of illhoof (29:00), and not on for all of Shade of Aran (33:45). That's 4/8 fights

Yeah these bosses seem to be post nerf. Aran's elementals are supposed to have super high health, something you don't DPS through. Now they have like 13K lol.
Yea once I saw the 2.4.3 patch I lost all hype for TBC. This is going to be just like classic. Boring as fuck.

Will be a lot faster if you have BM hunters in the grp. They are the top dps in Kara. locks only started to catch up around P2 or P3.

Well, when the game was new the mechanics weren't as mastered, internet and pcs were less consistent throughout the raid party, and many of the bosses were made easier in later patches.
@@bobdole2636 That's nice and all and somewhat true, but still, if you compare with videos from retail tbc, the damage from bosses on the current beta is ridiculously low.
Sadly this is gonna be rollface mode TBC, and not because "the players know everything a lot better than they did back then".
Karazhan is easy even in the old tbc so

they have template level 70 characters with gear and attunement already on them. regardless of this, the raid and all content that is gonna be released on every patch is gonna be devoured in 24h max since release, just like in classic wow.

on private server Curator has 12mil hp , double the beta HP. This is gonna be way too easy , a face roll just like MC and BWL. Bosses don't have enough hp
There are quite a few bosses in dungeons/raids that have to deal with soaking lazers idk how these people couldnt manage moving their character to a specific spot.
Damn this is a trip to the past. Used to raid this with my guild and spent so many hours in there

@@Toastybees no, its just post-nerf kara and post-buff players, ofc its a cake walk. Pretty much all classes got buffed like crazy from 2.0 to 2.4.3, so its no wonder. I would love to see kara on 2.0 without any buffs on players and nerfs on the raid.

they probably didn't need to since its up for testing. obviously on live it will be required.
Boss's seem nerfed with how much harder the trash is hitting. Then again tbc trash has always been a pain.
Kara was my first ever raid and I got my first ever epic from Opera that same night, good times.

This is why i hesitate to play tbc even though it holds the best memories. Its already played out min maxed video guides before the game is even out. Might start a few months after launch so all the zoomers have already moved on

Generally a good idea imo but when you start late the raids become a faceroll even without min/maxing because everyone is overgeared.

haha, destroyed it. I remember a co-worker would come in every day talking about his guild doing this raid. His guild spent a long, long time in here. I remember it took them forever to get past the first boss alone.
In fairness this is 15 year old content, people have known the answers for ages now. People didn't have a clue back then, Thottbot was about as good as it got.

Lol they killed maiden in 1:22. They either outgear this hard, or it's nerfed for beta. You didn't down maiden or any boss in 1:22 with appropriate level gear (i.e lower level than what she drops).
