Great Video, I have a 2014 Journey RT and will be tackling this job next week. I’m doing Lower ball joints, Inner and outer Tie Rods, sway bar links and bushes. Front left and right, all at the same time.
I"m sensing an Eric O' fan of South Main Auto...... Ugga Dugga to you! On a different note. I'll be doing this same repair probably tomorrow or Monday. Went to check into the leaky transfer case/rear transmission cover leak and discovered the ball joint had taken a dump. (about 1/2" worth of play.... One good pothole later????) Have a good day!
Great video! Is it possible to use the thread and the ball joint nut itself to push it out of place. Maybe placing one of those sockets between the ball joint holder and the nut, using a bigger washer and tightening the nut....in theory this should work????
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last few weeks =)
Good video thank you while I was watching you do this I was thinking ahead after you got that ball joint pressed in halfway if you would have had you a big press you probably could have put it on there and just put a little bit up torque to it and it probably would have popped in versus using the hammer but the hammer trick worked good thank you again
Can you tell us the exact balljoint press kit you used? Most balljoint press kits are too thick in the sleeves and don't fit in the steering knuckle of the dodge journey. I had to grind mine down.
U are a hack didn't need to remove from car u must of watched a video just remove front control arm bolt and buggy out of the way did mine in two minutes removal and installation you're poor customer's

Great video, only question I have is will I need an alignment after this?

@Ameer Jase Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for years myself :D
Next time just remove the lower ball joint nut and you have enough room to replace ball joint without disassembling everything.
I will definitely have to try that! Appreciate the help!
yeah when you have the correct tools it will that way. when you don't then you have to improvise
saved the day thanks for the video
