@@douglass509 The thing that won was a Chevy in the same sense that a stock car is an impala. It's about 95% new parts and 5% Chevy Colorado. The axles, driveshafts, suspension, transmission, tires, frame, and engine are all replaced when building a mud truck. Pretty much just the body is original.
632 we gonna see if it works on water- and I am looking at the alternator and other small hydraulic things belt sniping, and saying to myself...No wonder why so many engines give up, not only driveshafts, axles etc. Designed or not, tough or not, powerful or not, it can't be good when you jump in the heavy mud with water going everywhere in your engine. You have a snorkel for the air to avoid water getting in the cylinders, but petrol engines have sparks, also spinning belts and components outside. Really tough and expensive race, obviously they don't do it for the 2000$, as we all know how much the blown engines and transmissions cost to fix.
Motley Crue Morris actually from what I’ve heard they basically slip the whole entire way down the strip. They don’t have gears and if it doesn’t slip at the start they’ll just spin the tires. That’s how they control all that power
Why doesn't anyone run a flat-bottom setup of aluminum sheet with an angled front skid plate and big scoop paddle tires? Hasn't anyone thought of/tried this or are there rules?
@@Ibex- Agreed, but I keep thinking of Icelandic Formula Offroad cars: Squat shape for stability, 4 x very wide paddle tires, most run a very long skid plate underneath as to not catch on anything rather slide over it and a ton of HP. So much they car drive ON water! Skim over the mud rather than end up pushing it like a dozer...

What if you could put the motor in the back get the weight off the front end to the back so pick up the front tires might be a little hard to steer but not be able to be 4 weel drive though I'm just thinking out loud
Lol at last call. Switched to a Chevy motor bc Ford couldn't do it. But the chassis setup is the main problem, too light of a front end bounces and loses all momentum

Ibexcycles I am familiar with paddle tires. They are not a handicap that leaves no options other than to nose dive at fifty mph. Bring in the heat when you get to the pool of water, not before! My buggy can creep farther than those 10000 lb diesel behemoths. Any time I see a driver with more money than experience or common sense, I feel it is fair game to point at him😂
@@Ibex- why hasn't anyone tried running giant aluminum disks that is 180" in diameter with paddles? Like a giant paddle wheeler but 4 really narrow paddles instead of tires. It seems like physics and your video evidence shows that getting the front and rear diffs, the running gear and everything else out of the swamp while sinking to the bottom would work. Just a thought.

Ten could give you a 1000 hp with the right turbo. That was a smaller one but yes its possible.
Well considering atmospheric pressure is 14.? Pounds, having that much boost would double your horsepower. ( at least on paper )
