Honestly this is a proof of concept to how great it could’ve been. So many great ideas like suv ironhide, back of the car chest, and that awesome automorph but it just missed the mark. At the very least, the ideas this figure brings to the table are awesome and would make a great figure with some modern engineering. Also, for some reason, every time studio series makes an ironhide, it kicks ass.
I have heard countless stories about how much this guy sucks but he doesnt seem THAT bad, he seems decent for what he is. What bothers me the most would have to be the inconsistent window colors but other than that he doesnt seem terrible.
I totally understand the complains, I do, and I agree with you. ...but damn, when I compare this to my G1 Ironhide toy with that hideous sticker for face and that looked _nothing_ like the cartoon character, this is like a dream.
You can make it look better if you twist the crotch the other way around and you skip the chest automorph and leave the wheels down to fill the waist gap, that way the head is more visible, gains height and better posture. I had the henkei version, it has a MUCH better paintjob with the chrome details and the yellow line, but the arms come off all the time. Recently i buyed the siege version, it felt so good to finally have a good ironhide
Oh, it's not just the paint on the sunroof that gets sticky it's all of it that's on the clear plastic, and I am a bit ashamed to say I had this growing up the problems I had other than the paint were that it one of the hood panels that make the leg front came unhinged and the other was that the middle hood piece that is connected to the front bummer broke at the midway point, oddly I still have it and all of its parts but it along with most of my bayverse toys (from my childhood) will likely either get sold or thrown away if you are interested although not many are in good condition if you want pictures let me know
I think the worst toy I have in ´my collection is Cybertron Runamuck. Here's the twist: I like the figure. It's just he mold that is the problem. It's the Armada Side Swipe mold. But I think the Cybertron figure does it justice because he and his two Universe recolors really don't. Also, while Energon Hot Shot's robot mode is....ehhhh...not that great, his car mode is pretty good.
I'm not getting the new one because it's not that it looks bad, but I just really don't appreciate the direction Hasbro is going. The new one is priced at a voyager and it's literally smaller than the earthrise deluxe. It comes with one tiny accessory so it can't use the hot rod excuse (which was hardly one to begin with)
I had this one from 2009 then sell it 10 years later along with Universe Ratchet, but I later regret it and bought another of those two as a second hand after watching Siege on Netflix, yeah there was already a Siege version during that time but I think the Universe version is way more cheaper and accessible especially Ratchet in the marketplace or Buy & Sell groups on Facebook, I think they are still good alternatives for the Siege/Earthrise even the upcoming SS86 version which will surely be way more expensive especially with today's inflation and still not as bad as the Universe Galvatron which I literally give it away as a donation for charity.
I keep a lot of them for comparisons for videos or because sometimes they are bad but nostalgic. Otherwise I usually end up selling them or giving them to people who like them more than me.
@@ThatToyGuy OK that makes sense. But for people who don't have a youtube presence, I just don't get keeping them in bins or just keeping them and hating them.

Is earthrise ratchet really that bad? Than why is he so pricey tbh I mean the vehicle mode sucks I know that but other than my knowledge is scarce of it
Honestly I don't think it's that bad at all and it's very overhated, but the reason it's expensive because every version of the mold was a scarce exclusive.
