I am 65 years old, with thick healthy hair, good skin, virtually no lines or wrinkles. I use plain soap and water, nivea moisturiser, baby shampoo and absolutely nothing else other than a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and veg and no processed foods. I believe that our bodies are not designed to use/need multiple chemicals .

Finally someone with a simple routine...I know the trend right now is to have a 25-step-skin care routine with brands trying to make us spend a crazy amount of money for the products, however I believe our skin loves it simple!

Being an old fart at 61 1/2, I'm too tired for a multistep, multiproduct routine. And I know they just want my hard earned cash. Young ones, save your money and stash it in the bank! I also know from decades you don't need all that stuff full of chemicals and abrasives. That why I use the beeswax and olive oil. If I can't eat it, I don't want it on my face!

      1. It costs a lot more

I stopped blow dying my hair about 7 years ago. I stopped coloring my hair about 6 years ago. No more split ends. :)
I get compliments almost every day. I save money, time, mess. I used to have sooo many hair products. I rarely use any styling products now. When people were panicking about the salons closing, I didn't worry.
My natural hair color is dark, but it whitened over years lol. I get asked what i do. It's in style, kind of platinum.
Literally nothing. I only brush or comb my hair maybe 2 or 3 times a day (my hair is kind of shoulder length).

I think it 100 depends on skin type. I've been lucky to always have clear skin and tried using absolutely nothing except water and sunscreen to a whole multistep regimen and it made minimal difference. Simple skincare is great. I do think you need a separate sunscreen instead of a moisturizer with spf. Normally it's very weak. Sunscreen is the most important skincare product you need. You might consider applying 2 or 3 times a day to slow down aging.

    • @MalamaLife
      @MalamaLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Thank you for this! I am still trying to find spf that doesn't break me out or leave white film all over. I try to wear my cap when I go out for a long time, but the sun is soo strong here

@@MalamaLife Maybe try charlotte cho soko glam or dr dray youtube channel. They normally recommend sunscreen's. If you have sensitive skin, it would be a problem. Some sunscreens don't have whitecast like biore uv, but not sure if it creates break outs. I not bothered with whitecast unless it's really bad lol My mum gave me hers and it was really bad. I’m 38 and experiencing crazy hair loss. From my lab result I’m low in vitamin D, iron, b12, the list go on. I have recently find out how to minimize hair loss; after shower I don’t comb or mess with my hair, just dab the end with a towels and let it air dry for 30 min, after that I can do 5 minutes of cool blow dry without combing or messing with my scalp. My hair look kind frizzy and crazy wavy by doing this, but I’m trying to slow down the shedding 😥 gentle wash on scalp, use tip of my fingers for massage, no fingernails
Your hair is sooo puuuurty 🤤 wish I’m young again I would treasure and care for my hair more

Please consider wearing ear plugs when blow drying your hair to save your hearing ability into late age. The more you allow loud volume near your ears (vacuuming, lawn mower, power tools, loud music), the younger you’ll loose your hearing ability. Trust me, it becomes tiresome for people to talk to you once you start to have trouble hearing the high-pitched sounds in conversation. Also, ear buds are bad for your hearing. Your ears were designed by God to catch sound waves & dampen them by the time they reach your eardrum. Earbuds put sound waves directly on the eardrum, which damages your hearing.

Beautiful video. My acne cleared up also when I switched to using CeRave cleanser for oily skin and that’s it. No serums, oils, moisturizers or anything. Less is more. I think all the stuff we use trying to “fix” things just ends up destroying our skins microbiome. We have an acid mantle that sits on top of our skin and when we leave it alone, it protects us from environmental conditions and toxins.
I’m 51 now and have been using only a gentle cleanser for many years. For the first time I’m starting to see the effects of collagen loss that goes along with menopause. 😏 I was just searching for a good vitamin C serum to add to my cleanse only routine and then your video popped up. 💕

Get the dirt off with oil free wash..rinse, B temporarily coat it with something natural(doesnt have to be everyday of the week), heck some people use honey even. C. Apply some natural moisturization or even just rinse off and carry on. The money spent on skincare is insanity

Well I'm still too young to go about boasting about how I don't have any wrinkles because at my age it's still common to not have wrinkles. My hair used to be exactly like that texture length thickness everything exactly like that before starting university it got worst due to stress and need to work in the heat of summers in India. During this lockdown I tried to pick it back up its no where near but its getting better I tried this yoga that helps with hair gain, I washed it once a week cause who cares at home about greasy hair, I oiled my hair everytime before washing and used almond oil instead of conditioner after shampooing and then lightly rinsing hair that won't get off all the oil but its not as oily as oiled hair. And always all the time 24*7 kept my hair in a light braid. I comb my hair twice a day to change my hair band because i think it gets dirty if it stays for too long on hair and that's good for detangling too. I hope i get it all back.

So recently I have been washing my face with natural goat milk/almond milk mixture bar soap, then apply Moringa oil to hydrate my face. My face stay hydrate all day. No dryness whatsoever. It doesn’t make my face look or feel oily. So happy with Moringa oil. I’m glad you found something that works for you. OMG! I have that exact curling iron. I have also had it for years! I don't know why that thrills me, but it does.

I feel we have so much in common. Since my childhood I use only coconut oil , it's fragrance n texture goes well with my hair. Also I too wash twice a week or so.

Kudos to your patience...it's not easy to maintain such long and healthy hair even with a simple routine👏👏👏
And I love the fact how you honor your skin tone and not try to change it at all ❤
I always keep choppy bob hair because I love it that way + low maintainance 🤭
And for skincare, I make exfoliator and skin masks at home.. and use them once a week and I don't do make up. 😊😊

Its already a routine ms.Sophie😁to check if you already uploaded your new video. It always reminds me of "simplicity" and "appreciating of what you have in life"because my greatest dream is to have a house for my kids, even it is small and simple but you can call it a home💙💙💙this video is all about hair and skin care routine but here i am talking about something😂🤗
