Xavier Smith didn't even say something bad. It's pretty obvious that Deion is treating his college players like pro and doesn't care that he is dealing with very young adults. But we all knew that. Shadeur should just shut up, it's not a good luck for the QB, who happens to be the son of the HC, to come out and attack a former teammate while simultaneously admitting that he doesn't know or care about players in the middle of the roster. I am sure NFL scouts will be excited about this trait of character.

Regarding the issue of running off players, every coach in college football is going to be run out of town if they don't win games, and they won't catch any breaks for being sweethearts. The previous coach at CU would probably be everyone's ideal neighbor, but he's mowing his lawn on Saturdays because they weren't winning, and that was due in large part because of a massive talent gap.
Regarding the issue of being social media warriors, it looked like they were taking shots, and they fired back. I think that's a fun way to add some spice to college football, and i'm glad those guys are living life the way they are.
Regarding the Nebraska connection, it's relevant because this is at least the second time, maybe the third, that this author has checked in with guys who left CU last year. He isn't writing about this same thing happening at other programs, and that gives the impression of him being a hard-core hater. Maybe it's just standard Coach Prime hate, but i also hope it's old school Colorado vs Nebraska rivalry hate because those games were so fun for so many years. I also hope the author keeps finding ways to throw fuel on the fire because i think college football rivalries are awesome.

I think it's all been pretty classless in regards to the treatment of those young men since Dion was hired. They're still kids trying to find their path in life. So much for Dion's reply, which we now know was tongue in cheek, to the professor's letter that "if nothing else, ya'll gonna leave here with something." There are "teachers," and "tellers." Dion is obviously the latter.

Dion Sanders could cover anyone but if they did get the ball short he could not tackle them. He would have been great at flag football.
I was looking at Shedeur's stats from last year to see if Deion's hype about him being a top 5 pick was anything more than dad talk (getting flashbacks to Lavar Ball "I spoke it into existence"). Stats look OK and reflect what I thought after the couple of games I saw last year. Good QB but not worth the hype. One stat really stood out though...he got sacked 52 times! I know part of that is having a bad O-line...but 52 times?! NFL teams aren't going to want to waste a high draft pick on someone who doesn't know when to get rid of the ball to avoid the sack!
