@@Minstrel2009 I'm gonna be brutally honest with you here...I had heard this line dozens of times, but I actually had no clue it originated in Star Wars 😅😅
I'm sad to hear about Viper's wrist problems, however the positive side is that he has a bright future as a streamer either way. He's such a likeable personality, he was the first AoE2 streamer getting 1000 concurrent viewers on daily basis on twitch. Even if one day Viper switches to just casting and casual playing, he's going to stay successful and popular.
Viper is such an amazing guy! I am following him for over 10 years now and I am still impressed. He is always friendly, just a good person.. And obviously a very entertaining player. Great job by masmora as well! Very good interviewer, not interrupting, not asking "weird" things.. Amazing stuff :)
Once again thank you so much everyone for the positive feedback! Both this episode and the 2nd one with T90Official should now be available in whatever podcast app you like to use! Let me know if this is not the case so that I can add it manually.
As someone who's played AoE 1 & 2 since their release, but wasn't into the competitive scene until the last few years, this interview (and the others) are absolutely fascinating. Hearing about the old pros/tourneys and general history of this great franchise is just awesome. Thanks for a very enjoyable hour and 10 mins :)
Really liked the interview. And props to you for not shying away from asking tough questions to Viper in the end (and respect to him for answering them the way he did too). My only minor quibble is that perhaps there could have been a formal introduction right at the beginning, rather than the random rambling about Daut. But otherwise, looking forward to the series! :)
Such a well-done interview! All the stories from years ago are known to so few people these days that having Viper bringing back the memories is a real treat.
I'm so tempted to write a tl;dr... Love It! You would think that a Interview with people who you can listen to casually talk basically every day wouldn't be anything special but it is. Reminds me of a little interview series with personalities of a different game I was sort of following although those people except for the interview did only exist as forum posts and the very rare real life meet ups. Sadly especially the part I was interested in didn't have the longevity of age2.
This is just amazing content! Really love this conversation and players telling different stories about how this AoE stuff was going in "good old times"))
so glad i found this! finally good indepth interviews from someone who knows the community and history! so much better than the clout chasers on twitch with their weak questions and sad pandering
I think people today can't imagine Jordan going toe to toe with Viper like they did in 2014 and it went back and forth while obviously Viper looks much worse in these games than he is now. I think people just dont understand competetiveness on that level. and why would they stage it? There is literally no reason to do so. Money was not a concern in 2014.
Hey, seems like an interesting interview I'll enjoy. Is it also possible to subscribe via an RSS feed such that I can listen to it in my favorite podcast app? Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words!
This is a freaking FANTASTIC interview. The person, the history, the family, the society, and the game. Thank you SO much!

The Daut talk was what hooked me and showed that this will be an interview with info which has never been told 🙂

24:25 - why didn't you ask the obvious question - "Has he spoken to you since, or has he stayed in touch?" Something along those lines...
Masmorra, are you Brazilian? Your Pronunciation of Dogao's name was spot on!
Portuguese!
Abraço para o Brasil 😊

wait a second, didn't jordan win hidden cup 4? or did viper mean "back in the day"?
