HIMIWAY Your E-bike Experts is a series of videos that provides helpful tips on maintaining and caring for your e-bike.
In this episode, Nelson shares his knowledge of Himiway Cruiser/Escape display settings, including speed limit setting (up to 45 mph), pedal-assist setting, other detailed settings, and display information.
Although we can change the speed setting, always ride safe and never exceed the speed limit!

For anyone who is curious, that first menu you get into that says v o l, setting those settings changes with each bar does on your battery meter. So the first bar would be low battery and you can set the voltage that it puts the first bar on, then you can set the voltage for the second bar, and so on. Example:
1 bar = 40v
2 bar = 42v
3 bar = 44v
4 bar = 46v
5 bar = 48v
You can adjust the settings to calibrate the battery indicator to the actual voltage of the battery.

All you have to do is get to the setting that says d e f.... That stands for default settings.... It will reset the system to your original settings! Easy peasy

you have a cloud 9 seat on your new 2021 himiway cruiser, I bought a cloud 9 seat and getting it to match up with the hardware on my bike is not quite right . What do I need to do to make it fit? just muscle it on?
You keep calling it "Hemiway" ... like a Dodge, lol! Nonetheless, thanks for a very informative video, going to head out to the garage and make some adjustments. Always thought 2 was too low and 3 was too high, look forward to remedying that. Can you post a link to the 2020 model video you mention? I couldn't find it.
On your walking mode demo, you were on Pedal Assist 1, for Walking you need to be on PA 0. That should give you about 2.0 to about 2.5 mph. Jack.
Agreed, mine is always in PA zero when using the walk feature.

Teach me how to increase speed setting on my Hemiway cruiser 2017
Just got my Step Thru and my throttle goes only up to7km/h. Can i adjust it or is it damaged?
Could you please make a detailed video on taking if the back tire on the Himiway Escape please? Or better yet, how to change the intertube on the back tire of the Escape. That's what I gotta do, customer service says to take it to a shop but no shop in my town wants to work on my bike. Bike shops say the bike is to heavy to out on the repair stand, and tire shops don't want to mess with it. Maybe if I lived in a ebike friendly town it would be easier but I live in Twin Falls Idaho.
That sounds like a good idea! We'll definitely shoot a video about tires! And include your suggestion in it. And sorry to hear that no shop takes your bike, hope the tire video can help you fix it soon!
@@HimiwayBikesLongrangeEbikes A back tire repair video would be a huge help, I'm sure to others as well,and would be greatly appreciated. Yea ebikes aren't to common in my region of the state. Hopefully I can spark some interest with my ebike

I wonder if changing the stock 46T to I think a 52T crank will get a little more speed?
It is not recommended to replace the crankset, as it will hit the flat fork if it is too big.

Great video. However, I have a problem I can't pin down. This motor quits while in use, and I can get it to reset by shutting it off and repowering. I've sent a message to Himiway but no solutions. 2021 model

I have a different brand that does that sometimes too. All I do is kick the peddles around the other direction and start to peddle correctly and it resets in a second. Don't bother shutting it off and on again.

I've read that the walk mode speed is 4mph. I don't walk that fast. Is there a way to lower the speed in walk mode?
I think that has been asked before and the answer was No. It's set at one speed only.

yes. it is possible
That is 45 km per hour… not miles per hour. 45kph = 27.97mph
Didn't find what I was looking for! Those of us in Canada or Europe that watch these video's need to find out how to change from 'Miles' to 'Kilometres'....wasn't mentioned here! Any idea how to do that please?
You can find it in the user's manual.
WHAT THE HECK! My 2021 will NOT go over 40 on the LS (limit speed) setting! This is super disappointing as I bought the bike for its “top speed”

Sure they reprogrammed the controller to limit the speed. Not to worry as the new limited speed is the same as my "unlimited 99 Kph 2020 model at around 28 MPH.
Is there a setting to show time on the display?

I was scrolling around all these settings and I came to a page showing the battery indicater. Each level of 5 I have set allows You to change the battery.charge level. What the heck was that page for ?? It's not even the manual.
FYI the 45 in max SPD......... That's 45 km per hour.
Does anybody know how to change the display speed and odometer to kph from mph?
First power up the bike. Next you must press the + and - buttons simultaneously on the keypad. This will bring you to 3 settings. The first is the trip meter. Press i to toggle to the next setting which is the display's back light level. Press i again to get to the kph to mph setting. Press + or - to toggle between the settings. Press i to enter and save the mph setting. Long press i again to return to the main display. Hope this helps!

@@lucaharmsen2555 Hey Luca! The battery of Escape is 14ah and the Cruiser is 17ah, unfortunately that is something you cannot change. Although we do not suggest people modify the battery, if you have knowledge of E-bikes, you can search "Himiway Battery Upgrade" on TH-cam to see how the experts upgrade their batteries.

Gosh, the amount of folks that want 'motorcycle' speed out of an e-bike! Why is everyone in such a hurry these days?
@@dalewatkins9889 The Himiway Cruiser out of the box delivered after February 2021,as I understand, had a top speed of 18mph. That's crazy slow!! But shortly after posting my concerns I learned that just a little program adjustment was all that was needed to at least achieve close to 30mph throttle only. So right after assembling mine with a quick reprogram 29.8mph! If others got 35 oh well I'm happy with that
Changing the LS to 45 and not 99 makes a big difference. Mine slows me down if I reach 25 & 28mph, almost like it's brakes. I feel it's very deceptive to change it after a bunch of ppl bought them with the idea they could change to it to 99. When it was 99 you could go 35MPH. One is not always on a bike trail, If you are on your own property you can go as you wish. It makes the Himiway a Rad Rover... not a Himiway. I'll make a video this week to show what it does.
Deceptive indeed! This change was not published when I ordered my bike, and was the only reason that I ordered the himiway over the rad rover. Very disappointed. Wondering if the old display could be ordered to replace the new?

If you can find one. Or can can just order a new color display that's being sold and that works. I just ordered one this weekend. But if it takes too long, I will swap my display off my old and broken Himiway and that will work also.

Please tell us what is going on with your new disapproved controller. We don't want this bike lunging forward to 12 MPH on PAS 1. We don't want to be stuck with 24.8 max MPH. Is there anybody that knows how to get around this "New" controller like the old on? I didn't order the "updated" version. But I got it, even though the instructions clearly dictated the old style. I've reached out for help. Every time it's somebody different. Himiway, WE are asking for help... if SERVICE really exists, step up to plate and help!? @HimiwayBikesLongrangeEbikes
Had so much trouble with Himiway. They tried to replace my faulty motor 3 times instead of letting me ship the bike back for a replacement. Took 6 months and I had to take it to a mechanic to replace. Then, still didn’t work and they wanted me to buy another one and return the old one before they would send me a new one. I think they’re customer service is in China? Just get something local because Himiway doesn’t know how to fix their problems.

I’ve just got my Himiway bike and found their customer service to be terrible. Seem to have a very dodgy approach to customers.
Just got this same bike today. The "Limit Speed (LS)" is now only maxed at 40. I was disappointed. And do not use the walk mode. Is WAY TOO FAST for walking. It will get away from you.
Walk mode is 2-2.5 mph.
Yeah but we got to find a way to hack the controller to get the top speed that the majority of us want out of the Himiway😡
The pedal gearing limits speed to about 28-29 MPH. Throttle only speed is about the same.
You talk so much that my Himiway shuts off before I can add the next step.
Himiway now changed this and on the new models, the motor is governed to 25 MPH, and if you have an old model, you can tell a big difference in speed, especially down hills. The old model is way faster. Lame. You have to get a new display to change this. Lame Himiway.
