This show introduced me to two of my favorite bands; the Toasters and They Might Be Giants. Their animated music video for Doctor Worm is one of the weirder things I've seen on Nickelodeon, but it opened a huge music door for me.
Oh thank you for reminding me! When I was about to be introduced to a hearing-impaired friend of a friend, I got a crash course in some basic ASL by my friend signing Dr. Worm. (Amongst other things but that one was one of the first) My ASL (and other languages) are still/reverted back to being spotty at best - but *now* I remember where my signing finally clicked the first time. I know that seems tangential, but it's *very* helpful to me. Thank you again!
Kablam was probably the closest thing we got to a Liquid Television for kids. Granted, I don't think it ever reached the levels of "out there" that LTV did, but it was still cool to see a lot of different artistic and animation styles all together in one series. I've always loved that sort of thing
KaBlam! was one of my favorite shows as a kid, but also like a perceived fever dream I wasn't even sure if was real for a few years after it stopped airing when I was a kid. It had a lasting impact on me, as even when I couldn't remember the show itself, I remembered the characters. I used to quote Action League Now! all the time. Meltman! Wit the power to... MELT!
Looking back, I know I said it had a lasting impact but I mean it *really* had a lasting impact. From the character designs to names, etc. Look at my pfp, lol. Henry was one of the reasons I grew to like green so much.

Most people will remember Action league Now!. Yet Kablam was a good show to air or creations at the time was good. You also forgot that Henry and June sometimes was breaking the 4th wall. Like in the video you had the small clip where Henry is talking to the viewer saying that he understands if you turn the channel and he will help you with that. He then has a remote and makes it looks like he turned your channel to something else. In truth i wouldn't mind these characters returning for something new. It just sucks that they didn't a good push in the right direction.
I loved Kablam! After it ended they kept it around in a smaller capacity and played single sketches between shows on Nickelodeon for years afterwards. The sketches were short enough to fill a few minutes where they didn't have scheduled commercials.
Omg! I remember being SO EXCITED for Kablaam ALL DAY LONG on Fridays! My parents let my siblings and I stay up a little later than normal to watch it! Also, this was posted 12 minutes ago? I've NEVER been THIS early lol XD
KaBlam! is an absolute favorite of mine. It’s such a shame that it doesn’t get acknowledged more when people talk about 90s Nicktoons. I would LOVE to see a KaBlam character in Nickelodeon All Stars Brawl! Also highly recommend listening to “The Toasters” and “They Might Be Giants” on Spotify. You’ll recognize a lot of their songs if you’re a fan of KaBlam!
It was by Far the most unique and best cartoon to ever air on the network. And sometimes it’s just overshadowed by the more mundane shows that were never as good as kablam.

This is, to me, still a very important show and one of my favorites. My friend and I consider ourselves huge Kablam fans, have Henry and June pins, "Snap Me Down" from Sniz and Fondue is a phrase we still use. I have such fond memories of segments from Action League Now, Sniz and Fondue, Prometheus and Bob, Life with Loopy, the Off-Beats. and ofc Henry and June's antics, and the pilot for their spinoff show ("now now Henry, that's not how Cuba Gooding Jr. asks for mints"). all-around a great show, great style, great universe, and it deserves more recognition.

Though I never saw the show as a child I did grow up in the mid 2000s and early 2010s reading the Beano and Dandy comics and watched the MAD television series online, and this series definitely seems like something a younger me would enjoy.

I was waiting for this. Also I remember manga compilations, but then again I also raise chickens in my back yard. You're video also explains why I remember Angela Anaconda being part of Kablam, but at the same time not remembering an episode with it.
Prometheus & Bob was one of my favorites, whenever kablam showed it and it was one of the shorts I looked forward to. I felt sorry for the poor purple alien, who was always trying to enlighten bob. Around that time, I also watched Kaput and Zosky short series, two alien outlaws who are always visiting planets and exploit their inhabitants in some way, only have something to force them to leave.
Duuuuuude! I used to watch this show a lot with reruns on Nicktoons Network, and I fell in love with it instantly. I'm super glad that it's still available to watch, and I still really love it, even years later.
Funnily enough I've never seen Kablam. *However* I did see a lot of these skits because they were repurposed into another show that aired in my country.

As for my favorite short,it’s a tie between Loopy and Action League,more so Action League cause I remember being its own ‘show’ when it used to air on Nicktoons. Some of the best things the kids networks ever did was these sort of experimental shows. This, and What-A-Cartoon on CN were really cool for just something different, and it was neat some of the shorts got expanded into series. I got your manga sampler reference, Jordan.

been waiting for this one. my family and i LOVED this show. right off the bat, we loved it because it was a ska intro. it's an instrumental version of "Two Tone Army" by The Toasters. Then the cartoons themselves. We STILL talk about Prometheus and Bob and the Action League Now. This was truly one of our very favorites growing up. Thanks for covering it, Jordan!
I love Kablam. It is one of those shows I wish I could find a copy of so bad. I always try to get physical copies of my fav shows, especially now that we are at the mercy of streaming dropping shows or not wanting to pay for 8 different services

Fox not allowing those Angela Anaconda reruns was a blessing, trust me there, those segments were even more terrible than the monstrosity they would become
KaBlam and Oh Yeah Cartoons were some of the most interesting shows on Nickelodeon. They were platforms that gave us a taste of these awesome shows which all should've been given their own seasons. But the airing blocks were pretty jam packed with a lot of shows. Kinda makes me wish we had streaming services such as Paramount Plus back then. If we did the shows could've been greenlit and frontloaded on there.
Kablam was the ish. Sniz & Fondue and Prothermeus & Bob were my favs. I still find it funny how Sniz & Fondue was the only normal short on there & I heard that it was gonna be an actual nicktoon but the network chose Spongebob instead.
Thank you for unlocking my memories of Prometheus and Bob, Action League Now, and Life with Loopy. Most of the other shorts don't stick out in memory, but I have strong, STRONG memories of these three, despite having completely forgotten about Kablam untill now

So, can I take this time to finally vent about how action league now grossed me out as a child and still does to this day lol. Idk what it is, but between melt man and the he-man doll I found that one segment unsettling. I remember I’d always turn away when it came in and would check back periodically to see if it ended 😂

The creative animation and mixing of styles, this show was REALLY good You undersold the offbeats btw. That was a great segment and the animation style is really unique.
Kablam was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I was Thundergirl for Halloween in elementary school and still have that song from the Off-beats stuck in my head
I remember loving kablam a lot, it was such a wierd show and the host bits were favorite of mine, i would always look foward to see what news short they would show next, even of i end up loving it and then find out it was a one shot bit T.T
I have brief memories of Action League Now but strangely nothing outside of that. It's on my Nicktoons binge list tho, I'm still currently on Mighty B but Kablam is for sure on that list. I just hope Kablam didn't suffer a missing content situation like Ren and Stimpy and SpongeBob do
I was always excited when KaBlam was playing! Action League Now was mine and my brothers favorite short. But I pretty much loved them all. I do wish the shorts that were apart of the original run were still included, even though some of them were picked up by other networks for full fledged shows. Awesome work Jordan! Hey man, thanks for posting. I went on a binge of this show a few months ago and I enjoyed it. Anyways - maybe a missing clip of Spongebob? I've talked to multiple people about this and nobody remembers it, and there doesn't seem to be any info online either - In the episode "Plankton!," there's the one part where he says "Wow, a golden spatula! And it's even got my name on it!" I SWEAR, when I was a kid watching the show, it actually showed his name written on it. But anytime you watch the episode now, it literally just cuts to Plankton saying "It's a gift! Friends give each other gifts!" without showing his name written on it. But I SWEAR it happened! I've wondered if it's some kind of Mandela Effect type thing. I've watched tons of videos showing clips that were deleted from Spongebob (Like squidward and the gasoline bucket), but none of them have ever mentioned this. And then I've seen other shows recently on TV, like an older episode of the simpsons, that had a missing clip as well. So what's the deal? It's bugged me for a very long time, and I'd love to know whether I just imagined that or if it got cut or what. Because why on earth would they even have a line for him saying his name was on it, if they weren't even gonna show it to begin with?

In my memory, I hear Action League Now!'s The Chief with the voice of Lance Reddick. I was actually just thinking about some of these shows recently, and I couldn't quite remember where exactly they were featured. I remember absolutely loving Action League Now! and Prometheus & Bob. I had completely forgotten about the host organism, KaBlam! KaBlam!, I only realized later, was actually almost as magical as I remember it. That's really saying something. IMO, it's pretty tough to create media that lives in the magical sweet slice of Venn diagram, where a creative work can *both* inspire enthusiastic immersion via interface with childhood imagination, *and* actually do so while making something that stands the tests of time, perennially entertaining children, adults, and adults who fondly remember first enjoying it as children. KaBlam! - the amazing, standout spiritual nephew to the child prodigy that was Mike Judge & Don Hertzfeldt's Animation Show. Anyway, this was a wonderful dip into fun, sometimes dormant/latent memories. STINKYYYY DIVERRRR!

been waiting for this one. my family and i LOVED this show. right off the bat, we loved it because it was a ska intro. it's an instrumental version of "Two Tone Army" by The Toasters. Then the cartoons themselves. We STILL talk about Prometheus and Bob and the Action League Now. This was truly one of our very favorites growing up. Thanks for covering it, Jordan!
I love Kablam. It is one of those shows I wish I could find a copy of so bad. I always try to get physical copies of my fav shows, especially now that we are at the mercy of streaming dropping shows or not wanting to pay for 8 different services

Fox not allowing those Angela Anaconda reruns was a blessing, trust me there, those segments were even more terrible than the monstrosity they would become

KaBlam and Oh Yeah Cartoons were some of the most interesting shows on Nickelodeon. They were platforms that gave us a taste of these awesome shows which all should've been given their own seasons. But the airing blocks were pretty jam packed with a lot of shows. Kinda makes me wish we had streaming services such as Paramount Plus back then. If we did the shows could've been greenlit and frontloaded on there.

Kablam was the ish. Sniz & Fondue and Prothermeus & Bob were my favs. I still find it funny how Sniz & Fondue was the only normal short on there & I heard that it was gonna be an actual nicktoon but the network chose Spongebob instead.
Thank you for unlocking my memories of Prometheus and Bob, Action League Now, and Life with Loopy. Most of the other shorts don't stick out in memory, but I have strong, STRONG memories of these three, despite having completely forgotten about Kablam untill now
I feel like Henry and June should have gotten their own show together. They were my favorite parts of the show.

I loved the way you used charcuterie! It's by far one my favorite words and I've used it as a verb or a noun to describe many things, it's great to see that here in the wild
So, can I take this time to finally vent about how action league now grossed me out as a child and still does to this day lol. Idk what it is, but between melt man and the he-man doll I found that one segment unsettling. I remember I’d always turn away when it came in and would check back periodically to see if it ended 😂

Kablam was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I was Thundergirl for Halloween in elementary school and still have that song from the Off-beats stuck in my head

I remember loving kablam a lot, it was such a wierd show and the host bits were favorite of mine, i would always look foward to see what news short they would show next, even of i end up loving it and then find out it was a one shot bit T.T
I have brief memories of Action League Now but strangely nothing outside of that. It's on my Nicktoons binge list tho, I'm still currently on Mighty B but Kablam is for sure on that list. I just hope Kablam didn't suffer a missing content situation like Ren and Stimpy and SpongeBob do
I was always excited when KaBlam was playing! Action League Now was mine and my brothers favorite short. But I pretty much loved them all. I do wish the shorts that were apart of the original run were still included, even though some of them were picked up by other networks for full fledged shows. Awesome work Jordan! I could watch your content all day. =)

Hey man, thanks for posting. I went on a binge of this show a few months ago and I enjoyed it. Anyways - maybe a missing clip of Spongebob? I've talked to multiple people about this and nobody remembers it, and there doesn't seem to be any info online either - In the episode "Plankton!," there's the one part where he says "Wow, a golden spatula! And it's even got my name on it!" I SWEAR, when I was a kid watching the show, it actually showed his name written on it. But anytime you watch the episode now, it literally just cuts to Plankton saying "It's a gift! Friends give each other gifts!" without showing his name written on it. But I SWEAR it happened! I've wondered if it's some kind of Mandela Effect type thing. I've watched tons of videos showing clips that were deleted from Spongebob (Like squidward and the gasoline bucket), but none of them have ever mentioned this. And then I've seen other shows recently on TV, like an older episode of the simpsons, that had a missing clip as well.
So what's the deal? It's bugged me for a very long time, and I'd love to know whether I just imagined that or if it got cut or what. Because why on earth would they even have a line for him saying his name was on it, if they weren't even gonna show it to begin with?

~Tommy yells angrily with censored sound effect noises making it appear as if he's cursing, meanwhile the sentient dog & the bespectacled girl make appropriate satirical social commentary about not getting their own spin-off show, with even the head Popular girl's goon squad muttering a synchronized "Oh, yeah!" in begrudging agreement with The Off-Beats~
In my memory, I hear Action League Now!'s The Chief with the voice of Lance Reddick.
I was actually just thinking about some of these shows recently, and I couldn't quite remember where exactly they were featured. I remember absolutely loving Action League Now! and Prometheus & Bob. I had completely forgotten about the host organism, KaBlam!
KaBlam!, I only realized later, was actually almost as magical as I remember it. That's really saying something. IMO, it's pretty tough to create media that lives in the magical sweet slice of Venn diagram, where a creative work can *both* inspire enthusiastic immersion via interface with childhood imagination, *and* actually do so while making something that stands the tests of time, perennially entertaining children, adults, and adults who fondly remember first enjoying it as children.
KaBlam! - the amazing, standout spiritual nephew to the child prodigy that was Mike Judge & Don Hertzfeldt's Animation Show.
Anyway, this was a wonderful dip into fun, sometimes dormant/latent memories.
