Sad to hear of Jeff Beck’s sudden death from meningitis. He was a brilliant guitarist, but it’s this song that means the most to me. Every school disco or party back in the day, featured at least one playing of it, while we all linked arms and kicked our legs up in time. I went home with many a bruised shin or instep from kicks from over exuberant lads. Ah memories! RIP Jeff, I played this one in your honour tonight, and mentally had a jig about.

@@christineayres7199 No offense meant, but none of the three you mentioned touched my life in anything like the way Jeff did. Once Clapton did, but that was long ago. Please note that I said "my" guitar heroes, and surely yours may be different. And as for "no new talent", I'd far rather see what young "Kingfish" Ingram, or young Ichika Nito, is playing these days than hearing those guys (my contemporaries) repeating themselves. Again, just my take. De gustibus non est disputandum and all that.
@@alonzogarbanzo but Ichika is just doing what Tim Henson did years ago the Polyphia Prog Rock thing it’s been done and the problem with playing at light speed is it’s very hard for a singer to put words to the music unless they are rapping and I hate Rap

What devastating news, Jeff Beck was an awesome guitarist, this song tho is the one that reminds me of parties and new years eve, with family and friends and seeing loads of heavy rockers all in denim and leather linking arms and singing at the top of their voices. Rest in power Jeff, we will miss you but we love what you've given us ❤️
We had new neighbours move in next door, young folk. First week in they decided to blast tunes at 3am after a night on the sauce. Given me and the missus were up at 6 the next morning it wasn’t ideal. Just as I was getting dressed to go round on comes Jeff Beck “Hi Ho Silver Lining”
I got back in bed and let it slide. Fittingly, that was their last song of the night too.

72yr old Aussie but grew up in UK. Such a Magnificent Talent but for me the moment I heard he was gone my head and my heart went to Hi Ho Silver Lining. The song always fills me with joy however sad I am. My 30 year old daughter grew up on the song usually in the car travelling up to our home up a very hilly dirt road we would sing along together at the top of our lungs in sheer joy. Pride of place in my Spotify swimming exercise video. Blasting out on the Speaker keeping me motivated.. Along with heart full of soul and for your love and so many songs of the 60s and 70s ....neighbours be damned.

Jeff Beck, the inspiration for the hilarious Christopher Guest character Nigel Tufnel and possibly the most innovative and in demand guitarist as wanted by both the Stones and Pink Floyd. One was declined and the other never had the courage to ask. Also he had just finished playing on the new album of the great Ozzy Osbourne so long after most of his peers had either died young or retired Jeff was still producing new music.

I stayed at Jeff and Sandra Becks house, lovely guy, i was dating Sandras sister, Jeffs collection of Hot Rods were amazing, we had more in common, his passion for Rockabilly, he was a massive Gene Vincent fanatic, he did an album of all Genes tracks with The Big Town Playboys, a rockin band that played at his wedding reception
