Apologies for the lack of creative musicianship and the pajamas.
This video demonstrates the voices of the Yamaha PSS-460 synthesizer.
Reverb effects were added at times using the Zoom MS-CDR70 pedal.
The PSS-460 was one of the earliest 2 operator FM synthesizers that featured sliders to adjust the voice parameters as well as a stereo chorus effect. Using the sliders for each of the 24 presets, you can get a wide variety of tones, some souding was more complex than expected from such a budget keyboard.

Got one of these for Christmas back in 1989. Loved it and its stereo symphonic which sounded fantastic. Flute was my favourite voice. I remember getting bored once and taken it apart and was amazed at how high-tech it looked inside in its day. Orange LED for almost every button too. Built in speakers were superb. This thing had quality written all over it!
This was my 1st instrument ever and I still have it. There's no way I'll ever get rid of it. Without this amazing device, nothing of what I did would have followed...
hi! i want to buy it now. do you suggest?

I certainly do. Here's what you can get with it :

@@mertozkan6848 I had the model above it the PSS-560, which also had PCM drum samples and more control over the accompaniments. Very similar otherwise.
the violin sound is a dream and the sound editor is as good as any thing yamaha did in the 80s - endless possibilities
Nice review . I saw this found one on reverb and now waiting for it to ship !like the fact you demo the keyboard with sounds and not explanation ! Can't wait to hear these vintage sounds through my pedal rig . Thanks for the only good review on TH-cam of this cool vintage unit !
had one of these. great put through effects.
very nice demonstration!
I still have one of these
Those beats sound really cool!
Que recuerdos, innumerables eventos con mi primer electrónico y el 340, gracias por el video
Buttons and switches were a different color on mine, but this thing was my childhood until it quit working. Found a replacement at Goodwill a few years ago but the drum samples don't work on it.
Was my first ever keyboard. I soon sold it for the PSS-560 with PCM drums, but missed the drum editing function which the PSS-560 didn't have. Later on I realised I even preferred the PSS-460's drums altogether:-(
*watching cause I'm too lazy to get mine out right now. Love that thing. Sound Blaster 8 bit technology!
Sounds far better via that EFX unit you are using.
These keyboards always sound MUCH better put through an EFX processor like what you were doing. I used to own similar keyboards many years ago but now I have FLAG SHIP keyboards like the Tyros 5 and others. Please have a nose here on U Tube at some music covers I have uploaded. Thanks!
Are you recording straight into your computer? What kind of speakers do you play through?
Hello. This was recorded directly. From the PSS-460 through a pedal to a mixer to a Focusrite interface.
What pedal mate?
Hi Jordan. The pedal is described in the video description. It's a Zoom MS-CDR70
