Owning Hondas and being around them during my early formative driving years, in a time before the majority of them were turboed and the K-Series was still new, the sound of an N/A B-series or K-series just gets deep in my soul. I can understand when others who didn't grow up around the sound say that they don't like it, but there is no denying that it is unique.

k series 90's civics and integras are so much worth the fun! Yes, you hear everything, rattles, squeeks, feeling the road, it's very engaging and an experience. When it revs to the moon pulling all the way on a stock engine in a cheap car. Beat the crap out of it all day and she'll keep rippin! Also, my double wide aluminum radiator would never let the car get over 145 degrees. Very not good for the engine on the street to run that cold, the tune was a pain when it doesn't warm up all the way. I switched back to stock style radiator. Feeling like that car is worth $10k. Labor time doesn't really transfer into the sale price.
Wow 15,000 for that that is a bargain! I think it would be worth 15,000 just for the nostalgia. You guys definitely put more than $15,000 of parts and labour into that build.
I have a jdm k20a and 6spd lsd in my ‘00 em1. The sound and driving experience is amazing. VTEC through ktuned 4-1 and no cat is pure ear joy. Mine pulls hard in 3rd, I have dc5 type r trans and the gear ratios are super close, but it’s perfect it in the canyons… my build aside from interior is almost identical, ktuned everything with hasport mounts.
I just inherited a 96 Civic that only had 25,000 miles on it. I can't WAIT to K swap this thing, it's already a blast with it's sub 100 horsepower. LOL

After you talked about how soft the engine is, you go into talking about the single stage thermostat in a large radiator and how it never gets up the operating temperature... If the motors never gettin warm than the ECU is probably pulling timing, running rich, and that's why you're down on power.

@@MustangManV8 its not that much anymore. Motor mounts and kpro. And the swap. Dont go over board with the build just keep it simple. A stock k20 or k24 even the ones out of a crv with no vtec will be better than that shitty d lol. I kno some people love the d series but i think they are lawn mower motors lol
@@MustangManV8 labor aint bad just take your time and label everything. Its just a honda. Lol i have an 03 honda crv 5speed i swapped in a k24a2 out of a acura tsx and it wasnt that bad. Granted it alread had a k24 in it.
For similar quality stock/bolt on builds that I've seen on/around market place id say 9-11k Canadian, 7500-8500 usd is a fair price if it had built motor rods/pistons and or sleeves etc..13-15k+ Canadian all day
the leak at the end showed to much for honda people! I've seen other comments guess it already. 100% DC2 Type R. hands down one of my all time favorites. cant wait for the upcoming JDM content you guys. the supra, the r34, and the dc2 will be epic.
When Nick tuned it he did open header on his last run and produced 218 to the wheels. Maybe it needed a refresh on the valvetrain or valve lash. Idk but 218 and 144 tq is perfect for that light chasis.
Exhaust and Intake is why it’s soft. 3” exhaust, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and a 3” intake. 3.5” intake is too big for a stock K20. It barely made a difference on my build K24.
I remember my civic coupe with a B18c and greddy kit.. I do t miss it at all.. I found this thing called RWD and 600+ wheel oh and V8s, great handling and no torque steer.. I'm 45 now no kiddy cars for me
K series oil filters make such a mess when changing them. If you use a Starbucks venti cup(iced) it fits over the filter and little oil cooler and will catch all the oil when changing it. You gotta try it.

People usually run k series at around 180 degrees as opposed to the 220 ish stock temp

Love my stock EX coupe. D16 is a beautiful and flexible motor in stock form. K20 is crazy, feels like 2/3 of a V8, not half!

Personally I'd also prefer a frontal airbag as a daily for the peace of mind
@@RunUp4U S2000 & DC5 steering wheels will fit on the EK (EJ,EM). :) Not sure if the airbags are compatible though.
It already has a 50 profile tire, any bigger and the tires going to be way too tall and look great lol
