In 2050 I will be 85 … when I was in my late teens and early 20s, I thought: 1980s … robots and spaceships ANY DAY NOW. 1990s I thought, ‘better late than never’ and in 2000, at age 35 I thought we were on the cusp of ‘The FUTURE’ … but it didn’t happen. 2010s and I believed that I had missed the Singularity, I was fifty in 2015 and just thought I was too old … born a generation too soon. In the last two years, I have begun to think as I did 40 years ago … that humanity was at the gates of an age of technological wonders. I will be old in 2050 … VERY old. But my old, old eyes will see the future that I have been waiting for my whole life and I’m up for it. Flying cars, AGI and robots, BCI and immersive VR that is indistinguishable from reality, bio-printed organs, gene editing and cybernetics … all of it. I’m sick of waiting for the future to crawl forward at a glacial pace. We’ve been cavemen for long enough.
all of these videos convenient ignore the grim reality of oppression & inequality that will completely dominate our lives in the near future...
