  • The wildfire season in Alaska has been relatively quiet so far, but that can change quickly if there is little rain and temperatures rise. In the early part of the spring fire season, the vast majority of wildfires are caused by humans.
On this episode of Alaska Insight, host Lori Townsend is joined by Anchorage Fire Department Chief Doug Schrage and Jennifer Schmidt, an associate professor of natural resources and policy with the Institute of Social and Economic Research at UAA to discuss wildfire risks on the Anchorage Hillside and around the municipality.
