This interesting! With Rahu in the 5th house I've been pushed to create. But with Ketu in the 11th house, I see that the weight of my culture and the responsibility with my family has always gotten in the way. Self doubt and resistance to express myself has been present thorough my life. I'm now slowly allowing myself to come out and express.
O my God this makes sense so much. I have Rahu on Leo the 5th ( Magha - Pada 3 ) and Ketu on Aquarius the 11th ( Dhanishtha - Pada 4 ) and I started writing at 6 years old, it started getting very popular at first through my school and soon I was in magazines and newspapers so I stopped writting, in fact I never stopped but I started to destroy everything I wrote without giving the chance to anyone to read it while I pretended I am not writing any more. Same thing happen later on with drawing and painting, it never became as big deal as my poems and writing but I still stopped allowing anyone to see anything I created and God forbid to become popular which my family and friends never understod.
Lady Gaga loves her fans and uses her creativity and platform to help others as well.. at least he is aware.
A lot of artists have Rahu 5,.. successful ones get over the deep split that has them reject fame / the public (ketu 11). Instead they create in a way that benefits others..

Rahu 5 Ketu 11 defiinitely can take the "tortured artist" syndrome too far - but when integrated there can be a lot of harmony between artist and public. LIke Gaga shows.

Yes! This is me! With my R11/K5 placement, I walked from art for decades to raise my children and teach children because as a young woman, I had come to feel that my art had come to be too much about my own self-absorption. I needed to give myself to something greater than me. Now, at this point in my life, I have come to see my creative efforts as, hopefully, a way to comfort, nurture, inspire, or entertain others, thereby making my creative efforts more honorable to me. Unbelievable how accurate this is... I came from a large family and all said applies to myself. My Rahu dasha started some years ago and all I started focusing was art... Drawing, painting, illustration, video, photography and have been lately interested in performance art. I even deactivated my facebook when I started pursuing these, but the harmony between self-expression and the public must obviously exist... Also, Rahu aspects the 9th, 11th (75%) and 1st houses... And for myself, in my Rahu dasha I took a great interest in subjects of psychology, religion, spirituality, astrology... And also, changed my appearance as well became more self-absorbed (1st house)...
Well, I'm still in the middle of Rahu's dasha, but with other antardashas coming in, I could balance a bit more the axis 5th - 11th. It has been quite crazy this dasha for me, especially for someone like me without a big Rahu influence on my chart so it's quite new and exciting. I just started my Saturn return this year and it seems Saturn rewarded me with the birth of a son which I am very grateful for it, although I have been struggling a bit. Hopefully it will get better I mean, the drive and desire seem to grow in me. Sometimes it seems Rahu is something like unconcious and karma. The desire is there but at the same time, things just happen to me, a lot of unconcious operating too. And bizarre coincidences only happened during this dasha too... Rahu sure is mysterious.
I feel called out. my ketu had zero chill until recently and it's still a struggle to balance. thanks for this!

Hi Sam,thanx for your teachings.Vedic astrology makes perfect sense to me,although I'm only at the very beginning of this journey yet.Something that bugs me (quite literally) in my chart,I would appreciate if you could shed some light on that for me.I have Ketu at 29 degrees Virgo in 5th house.both,5th and 6th house Rahu placement descriptions resonate with me.How do I approach that?Also my Moon conjuncts Rahu at less that 1 degree.many thanx again!

My daughter has this and would sit in her math lessons drawing. She knew all the math stuff and did one page, but all just wanted to draw and be with her creativity. Very talented too, picks up an instrument and just does wonderful things, but very difficult to learn the chords of a guitar or how to read notes. Even learning how to bike s hard because that has universal standards on it, she really wanted it to work to bike her own way and refused to learn to bike for a long time. Gravity works the same on all bikes and she couldn't defy that.

Lala - your "simple question" requires enormous explanation.. planets at the extremities of houses show mixed results. Generally that is it. The reason is because each planet has a different relationship with every other one based on degree .. not just ascendant and Moon.. so, all of the energy is in flux and seems like Both. aActually though it isn't, you probably need to learn what the houses mean better.

Parashara ignores them for aspects.
They only came about in later medieval texts.

A nodes aspecting a planet through the 7th house aspect will be joined the other node -- so just consider it in the axis, not reall "aspected" by it ..
