A Master commands the stage. No non-live backing tracks, no auto-tune, no crap, just pure genius, singing in 2023 just like he did in 1977. Serving notice to those that would pretend to greatness. Remarkable.
I don't know the other musicians, but his drummer and bass player are each at the top of their class.
@@paulv22 Drummer is Manu Katche and bass player is Tony Levin of King Crimson. Peter’s band is one of the reasons he consistently provides quality live performances. He’s one of a very few artists I will see EVERY time he tours.
The only thing more annoying than autotune is people who need to incessantly bring it up in the comments of every good song on TH-cam.
Absolutely! Going to see him in Birmingham on Saturday - can't wait!
... no auto-tune ... passing time has brought "maturity" to that generation artists ... but also "immaturity" to this generation audience who asks less and less for a money value ticket !
His phrasing is incredible and voice is rock solid. Respect to my favorite frontman, still the best.
What a fantastic band he has. Tony Levin is a monster of a bass player.
a top bass player !!
@@callingchristiano Absolute top. Being circa 2 weeks before his 77th birthday! Unbelievable power.
Tony Levin just doesn't age. You wouldn't think he was almost 80
The power of music, doing what you love and surrounding yourself with like minded people❣️🎸
You still have it Peter Gabriel.
A hill I climbed 13 years ago after my brother Shaun died. 3 pm in the morning I could see the city lights! ❤️
Peter Gabriel. A legend ❤
So Gabriel and Collins in Genesis back in the day. Peter takes the cake. Love ❤️ them both
Released 46 years ago, and this brilliant artist can still sing it in the original key! Respect beyond belief...
46 years... my God. I don´t belong here anymore!
Right? ❤ it! Lyrics like Shakespeare too. The skipping was pretty impressive i must add.
Yeah, that's pretty freakin' amazing! Love this song!
Indeed but….😂
Doesn’t quite hit the high notes. However, brilliant nevertheless. Hope I can strut my stuff like PG at his age.
My favourite Peter Gabriel song.
I regonized Tony Levin in an instant. An absolute legend.
And is 77 years old next month, and still doing his thing on stage.
Yeah, I just might see this tour after all, seeing he's still there!
I love that he gooses the crowd participation - and that after all these years, he’s still jamming with Tony Levin, David Rhodes, and Manu Katche back on the drums.
says it all that those grandmasters of their instruments are still staying with peter gabriel having tons of fun.
Peter Gabriel out here skipping in his 70s! Remarkable! Truely one of the best to ever do it
Singing in the original key! Incredible.
What d'you call a bunch of 70 year olds being supported by a bunch of under 30's? .........probably one of the best concerts you'll ever see!!! lol
😂❤
Yyeesssssssss
Reminds me of his fabulous show in Zurich last year. Unbelievable, such energy in a man of that age.
Tony Levin, the legend
king crimson
Pure class
Superb one off voice
Not many songs that sound as fluid and natural in 7/4 as this. Amazing talent, songwriting & performance! 🤘😎🤘
One of the best odd-time songs ever.
Yes. Like you say, it flows. It's not until you actually count it that it's obvious.
so fluid and natural, brilliant song and musicianship. And Liverpool fans are the only fans i know to sing in 7/4 😃 ( they use the main hook to sing liverpool to)
David, Manu, Tony, ・・・ You are lifetime partners for Peter, aren't you !
tony levin 💚
Damn, he sounds AMAZING! Gawd bless ya Peter Gabriel!
After all these years, I only just now realized this song's magic lies in its 7/8 time signature. It feels so natural. It gives the song a sense of urgency.
This man is a living legend!
Awesome still
Complimenti video bellissimi
Grazie
Loved him from Genesis till now. His solo work was breathtaking & very few in truth come close to his irrepressible & very unique talent! 👍
Agree…. mesmerised at Newcastle city hall 1970 support band to Lindisfarne me aged 13 and many times after. shame about post wind and wuthering Genesis, my humble opinion only you 😍
What a performance, amazing, PG singing skipping around like a kid.
67 yo fan and love this song 🎶
Genesis was exceptional in their performance and their stage presence. And those lights! Watching Peter Gabriel all these years later I can see that he brought much of the magic to their show, and that he was then, and still is, a master at his craft. A giant among performers and a joy to behold.
Peter Gabriel! Looking fit + in fine voice. Nice one Peter!
We just saw his gig at London O2 and can confirm, he's absolutely still got it (so have Levin, Rhodes and Katche). An amazing performance, so much energy and joy from all of them. Pity this video doesn't show the staging tech/animation art, which is also just stunning.
There are good songs and great songs. Then the odd masterpiece like this.
Cant wait to see you in Cleveland...
You guys rock..
As good as ever, with Peter Gabriel's vocals, Tony Levin's bass and David Rhodes's guitar.
Voice sounds great Peter!
Had to listen, had no choice!
Brilliant🏆
can't imagine a world when these guys are not with us.......
I was here... very great concert!
Thanks for the upload. What a wonderful performance by everyone on stage! Peter's voice sounds amazing, and he still sings this in the original key of B major!
Tune is straight up slammin'.
Grazie Peter per avere risvegliato la mia gioventù, dandomi un immenso piacere 😊
The show was amazing in Verona and to have Tony, David and Manu playing made it extra special for me .I also loved the new guy on horns because he was so enthusiastic he looked like a fan up on stage . One of the highlights of my life ❤❤❤
Considerably more zesty and upbeat version. Lovely!
I can't believe how good he sounds still. Wow.
I've got tickets for his Palm Springs concert in October, and I am stoked to see him perform.
Poetry in motion. The inimitable Peter Gabriel.
Wunderschön ich liebe dieses Lied 😘💋❣
Ich mag es auch, schönes Lied 😊
Walking across the sitting room......go on Peter!
My heart going boom boom boom ❤
I love him, always have, always will
That is so brilliant
Brings a tear to m eye
You made t your own and no one can match it for sheer emotion and artistry ❤
Class is permanent, and he is class ❤
He’s great a living legend!
Peter for president ❤
Bonita canción
So impressed, he’s a brilliant artist
His voice is still the same, sound excactly the same as I saw him in Oslo - 86! Fantastic! And look at Tony Levin! Both are true legends!!😀🤩
Love that he is touring with his oldies but also new!
The greatest of them all .
Kind Regards
This is incredible
Best of Best !!!! nothing more to say
He can STILL belt it out. WOW.
One of the best songs EVER
Just returned from the Waldbühne in Berlin. Great show, marvellous band, a phantastic PG. Buy tickets for a show near you, it’s worth every penny.
I'd pay just to see the backing band! Mr.Gabriel I salute you for still having the chutzpah!👍
Wow. He sounds amazing. His voice still every ounce of character. A living legend....i feel lucky that we have video like these of treasures like Peter Gabriel.
Peter Gabriel is Genesis, but Phil Collins also. Both of them incredible and stars at all.
Boston Sep. 2023 - can hardly wait!
joy
Great gig and Peter in very fine voice. . I first saw PG forty years ago and this show was up there with the best of them
Always was and remains the epitome of musicality!
Wow, very much looking forward to Manchester.
Thank you all. 👏 ✨
I was there. Superlative ❤
Wir waren in Verona dabei. 💯👍🥳
immortale Peter sei un grande
Saw him song this in Manchester friday utterly amazing inspiration
Amazing.
Fantastic always was and will ever be
Manu Katche. Laying the undisputed groove.
I just love this song ❤
Still the best. So much pleasure, over so many years. Thanks Peter. We love you. x
Great to see Tony and David there...like old times. Saw David playing with Japan on the Tin Drum Tour many years ago.
Du bist einfach Super, Dankeschön das du noch da bist
Peter is incredible. He can still skip around the stage at his age, wow! I do miss the red dress and fox's head though, but that was another time and place.
So much emotion in just the phrasing. And high energy at the same time!
What an a completly amazing performance he is just the most talented guy and doen'st sound any different to when he was younger what an absolute guy xx Love him xx
Great vocals. Never burned out his chords, amazing!
He uses them continuously making music constantly.
They won't seize up
I really like the re-working of this with the slightly different instrumentation. Great performance!
Saw him in Copenhagen last night - E P I C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish I could have seen this live. Many thanks!
My, oh my!! ❤
Amazing man, amszing singer!
To tell the truth I am realy jealous of that crawd to be able to see this live!!
Agree with comments on here! He still has it all, amazing vocals and presence. One of the best ….
I was wondering how he was doing lately. Thanks for giving up your concert experience to film this for us.
IMO Musical genius.
Amazing night! Loved it! I wish people would not come to concerts if they just want to yack and talk over the music😡. I almost leaned over and said,"would you like me to ask Peter to keep it down so you can chat?" Really ignorant people.
In the washroom after Biko encore I overheard two South African guys talking and one said, "he's got so many great songs. Why did he have to end with that one?" Ignorant racist.
Here endeth my Rant.
In listening to Big Time, he could have written it today talking about Social Media FOMO and people trying to make their lives look glamorous.
Fantastic experience. I am glad I was there. Thanks Peter!
Ich habe Peter live in Hamburg erlebt. Best Concert ever...
He’s one of those performers that I’ve never got to see despite being a big fan since he first went solo. My loss. I’d still love to see him if these posts are anything to judge by.
Peter gabriel - The Master, The Legend himself :)/
Again, thank you for great videos! I went crazy when they started playing this one!
If one weren't watching the video and only listening, one would think this is from way back when. Still in fine, fine voice. This, folks, is talent.
