i'm slightly infuriated that it's NOT the thinner path (this game was my childhood and i swear i tried painting him and getting nowhere in the original so thinning him is the only way i know)
@@stripeback2024 I thought it was a reference to how the clock tower in disneyland paris has the clock tower’s face as a combination of the sun and moon lol
That's actually the original reason as to why the clock tower goes mad, as the original plan was to have Mickey get behind the thing's head and smash a record player to calm it down
Whenever I hear the Clock Tower boss theme in Epic Mickey, I always hear it as a cry for help. Because the Clock Tower has heard "It's a Small World" being played over and over and over again until it caused his mind to snap. And now the Clock Tower is currently mentally insane going on a rampage, attacking anyone who comes close to him, while at the same time, is also begging for someone to end his suffering, if not calm his mind.
Fun fact: The music for this boss was made with the intention of making a dark and twisted version of the song "It's a Small World" but without the song's lyrics for legal reasons. Could you imagine if they did use the lyrics for this boss theme? *shutters*
I love how a simple concept of “it’s a small world” can be transformed into something so negative and dark instead of positive and light all because of being trapped in a forgotten world and this song you made in Epic Mickey signifies that
i love how a good portion of the song can be interpreted as the Clocktower complaining about the music that loops from inside of it “Laughter echoes, music rings! Hear the wails of madness sing.” “Smiles erased from broken faces.” “Driving mad those in the thrall of this small, small world!” “Minds Unravel. Music Drawls.”
Mickey: "So...umm, are you going to behave now? Don't make me clean your clock again." Clocktower: "Aww, I'm sorry, Mick. It's just after hearing the same song for over 50 years... you go a little nuts! Heh..."
The fact that Mickey is kinda unserious, not even taking notes of what Glockenspiel (the clock tower) tries to explain and sing while fighting the mouse is sad and makes sense why the crazy madness consumed the clock tower completely. Once a jolly happy ride is now trying to just make the outside world hear it's screams of pain being stuck in one place, unable to escape like everyone else, driving it's mind to frustration, narrating how the once safe sanctuary built for those in abandonment and forgotten are now suffering, they're all miserable, no one has seen any shine of hope in living after what happened with the Thinner Disaster and the Blot Wars, the clock tower is the mirror what happened to Wasteland, Mickey has to face his past, with those mistakes having grown bigger and bigger.
I would say you should…but the remake is 60$. Now is it still an amazing game? Yes and it looks like it has added some things like the buzz saws coming from the sides of the arena. But that price is pretty hefty
I think it also nails the idea of a constant observer being forced to the brink, screaming about the suffering it has seen and wailing at the one being it knows could help. It's in double mental anguish from both the sight of living in a seemingly forgotten hell and the sound of the music constantly chiming out of it. It's also likely in pain with missing skin and damaged face

I've waited years for someone to make lyrics to this boss theme.
And, just as I wished, it's occasionally based on the actual lyrics of It's A Small World.
I would have never predicted epic mickey juno, either way the crooked, distorted voice of the clock tower gives me ideas for my story book and rp, as always your voice overs are right on the money
Juno Songs covering Epic Mickey. I used to dream of days like this. We're truly in *THE* times beyond all others.
Fun fact: Did you know that they were actually planning to put lyrics of children singing the It's a Small World song back then. It's on TH-cam if you guys want to listen to see for yourselves.
THAT would make it even creepier! Ingame thank goodness it’s just the chorus but it’s still creepy.
I'm very happy hearing this, finaly Epic Mickey is having the recognition he needed and what better than a lyrical version of my favorite boss theme, thank you Juno
This boss fight brings back memories
Animatt would be proud.
You just made my favourite boss theme even better
After this masterpiece, I’d love to see you cover more songs from licensed games sometime! Seems like a good way to utilize franchises you wouldn’t have the chance to show your love for otherwise.
This legitimately gave me goosebumps the entire way through. You definitely nailed the “driven mad by a kid’s song” voice😰.
Juno great job as usual, but for the clock tower? Oh man this got me speechless!
The sheer chaotic laughter I let out when I saw this in my subscriptions tag
My roommate grew up on this game and is currently playing through the Rebrushing.
Think I've got one heck of a surprise for him when he gets back to the dorm.
(Quality cover, btw! Honestly loved it, and I don't typically go for scary type stuff.)
Did he like it?
Honestly kinda happy you did this, there are some great Soundtracks in epic mickey, And im currently on my fifth playthrough of the game xD
At least 3 playthroughs need to be done to get all pins 3 because of that romance in Ventureland having 4 outcomes and 1 that gives nothing exclusive to that outcome
I like how you leaned into Mickey being a famous classic cartoon character in the art with him doing the eye-pop thing.
I cannot give this cover enough praise. I always wanted to see a lyrics cover of this song, but I’m so glad that Juno of all people was the one who did it. Everything here is amazing, you really hit it out of the park this time.
IT'S ABOUT TIME
It really is about time, Captain Obvious. I'm throwing hands with a f***ing Clock Tower!
AAAA- *Smooshed*
I never would expect epic Mickey out of no where after years
God I remember playing the original on Wii. This guy is as far as I made it before stopping.
I recall I took the Thinner Path.
" Let to rot in butanol"
I live this line ❤ !
I'm kind of laughing at the thought of Mickey just interrupting the boss fight with "You'd better stop that singing right now, or I'm gonna sue the shit out of you!"
Honestly this was pretty well done, and epic mickey is an underrated masterpiece too, I wouldn’t mind if there were more from either one or 2 since they’re both as the title states, epic
Really glad I watched this so soon. This seems like a bigger copyright target than most. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts!
That big, how?
