As a trans person who is a "child" we are not allowed to get hormones, I've asked too many times and everyone says I'm too young, it's fine I have no rush for taking anything but just inform yourself before you speak (to te transphobes would made the kids taking hormones memes)

Yep im 19 and havent been on hormones yet. You have to be 16 before you can go on hormones in most places in america. If not 16 then 18. And even after 18 they listened to my parents over me. So no. No child is getting hormones.

I knew I was trans when I was six years old, and because of the times, I suppressed it almost all of my life. This has caused me severe psychological damage and a lifelong depression. Only now am I coming to terms with it after a lot of pain and hurt. When people are manipulated to support an idea, one of the main lines of that manipulation often draws on fairly positive thoughts and instincts. For the right-wingers, misguided chivalry is high up there but 'protecting the children' even more so, which is why many right wing groups are so opposed to both kids becoming more aware and to trans people (or LGBT people in general) gaining access to spaces, jobs, etc where they could have contact with, even minimal, with their kids, and from there it's often relatively easy to get them to oppose the movement being out in the open at large. Some level of 'this is an important decision only an adult should take' is understandable but at times it is being taken too far.
I'm sorry your life had to include so much pain, but I wish you luck going forward and hope things look better from here on out, Jessica.

I haven't watched the video yet but I'm assuming there's a part that mentions trans women absolutely dominating women's sports? You really can't compare being tall to having had 30 years of testosterone in your body. Even Blaire White who is about as close to looking and having the frame of a slim build woman says she knows she'd fck up most women her size because she is biologically male. It's not at all transphobic to state facts. Especially in fighting, there's a reason, and a good one, why we have men's and women's divisions in sports. Unless you started your transition as a child, which is a whole other ethical debate, then you will have an unfair advantage over biological women. It is what it is. Another trans woman who is still pretty masculine actually challenged that fighter who up until not long ago was a massive, muscular, military guy to a fight. That would be fair. Have you seen the size of him before his transition?! He was huge and now he's cracking women's skulls in mma. That is not at all comparable to someone being taller or stronger than average. All athletes are fitter than the average person so that's a non starter really

If people are on a bell curve in relation to prowess in a sport, and the sport relies heavily on a stereotypical male trait, the outliers on the curve will tend to be male. But if that outlier plays cricket and never tries baseball, he's probably not going to top the best female outlier if she plays baseball. Plenty of women will be able to compete, but fewer may reach champion status. Or more may gain recognition for their outstanding achievements. What's the harm in trying?

when people defy social conventions, it's no surprise that this can result in social conflict.... like, it's not that surprising, really.
And most people haven't even figured out the difference between sex and gender / trans sex and trans gender yet - including the community itself, apparently, since you get different responses from different people. Confusion creates negative reactions.

Even before I knew that trans people existed, I still thought that. I still don't understand why sports aren't based on body type.

Because the male body in general has greater bone density, muscle mass, broader shoulders and superior lung capacity. To name a few natural advantages. Anyone who has gone through puberty as a man, will have these advantages. Just look at the Australian trans rugby player compared to her cis female counterparts, she's bigger than some male Rugby players, no woman's stopping her lol.

@@jh565bb I have gone through male puberty and have pathetic lung capacity. It's never one-for-one. It has much more to do with hormonal balance during puberty, which is why those traits are _correlated_ to male puberty. Also, broad shoulders are not inherently advantageous. Strong shoulders, sure, but there's not any particular mechanical advantage to your armpits being farther apart.

PhD in biology here. I had lunch once with the wife of the man who discovered De La Chappelle syndrome - which defines males, fully normally developed, who have 2 X chromosomes. And no Y chromosome. What happens? Well a small piece of the Y chromosome can sometimes jump on the X and then you have a slightly longer X chromosome and the person develops 100% male. No indication anything is different about XY males. Except they're not XY. Also: sex is one thing, gender is another.

I'm from the anti-censorship side of TH-cam and I can 100% guarantee that any group that you "can't" make jokes about thereby becomes a "protected class," thereby damaging the reputation of the group. It seems to me that a very large portion of perceived or actual racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. happens in the backlash from censorship i.e. someone getting banned from Twitter for misgendering someone only drives them to a platform with less strict rules like Gab. Even the creators of Gab have said in an email that because it's a "free speech platform," you will find people that you absolutely despise and never want to talk to again on there. One point that the anti-censorship side of TH-cam keeps trying to hammer in to the thick skull of the Twitter mob is that all these cancelations and bans only serve to push people away from eachother and into extremes rather than bringing them together via civil discourse.
Also, some people _just hate change._ Like _boomers._

Not quite, I mean, otherwise why have separate divisions for men and women, and why some people get disqualified based on certain biological quirks?
Imo blanket statements on transwomen in women's sports are overall bad, both banning or thoughtless support. By very nature the test group is small and I doubt all sports have the same level of 'potential advantage' gained by the bone structure changes or early life training a male puberty could give a transwoman even after lowering testosterone levels etc., Though some sports seem to show there may be some advantages. On the other hand if someone went right from puberty blockers into estrogen, no such potential advantage might exist, or if they had partial or complete androgen insenitivity...
... Either way, get more data and avoid blanket statements is my point of view. The current regulations for transwomen in sports are definitely pretty strict so I doubt trans women are 'ruining' it for the cis-girls in most disciplines, if any. The only field where there may be any significant concern would be sports-based scholarships on some levels of education.

I found the toilet one funny because there's apparently a urinal right by the door in the girl's toilet, and because of the mock-transwoman's booty. Like imagine what she'd be carrying after a few years on hormones lol.

As for the beauty pageants line, I once pointed out a whiner that he was implying he found trans women inherently more beautiful than cis women. He sputtered and walked off lol
