Even as an ally, refusing to use "trans" or "cis" identifiers reminds me a lot of white people who say "oh I'm color blind I don't see race!" Both situations obscure and hide the inequalities that a marginalized group faces. You have to acknowledge the difference to address the collective and individual problems.
Exactly, that's why I don't understand why some trans people say that they are "real men/women" by saying that, they degrade and ignore all the difficulties they have had to face as trans people. There is no shame is being trans, nor is calling someone trans a slur.
@@Snoogen11 That's definitely not what they mean when they say they're real men and real women. They're just saying that they are actually men and women and are valid, they're not saying they are cis like what you mentioned.
@@Snoogen11 it's more so cis people saying things to a trans person like "I don't even see you as trans, you're just a ____ to me!" in an attempt to be supportive that erases the difficulties. trans people saying they are real men/women is just a fact it doesn't minimize a trans identity.
What is across from what in this case? You people argue that gender and sex are unconnected so it can't be that you arguing that trans means gender and sex are across from each other so what does it mean?
@@gjmptw8419 Across genders. Across a spectrum. This can be both saying you went from one end of the spectrum to the completely other end, the opposite. Or saying you just went across the spectrum to somewhere else on it, not necessarily the opposite end. You went from being a woman, to a man, or vice-versa. One end to the other. Or you went from being a woman, to somewhere between or outside of "man and woman". That's what it means
@@chubbybunny6975 "Across a spectrum" This spectrum consists of what? Are you talking about behavior or clothing? We know you can't be talking about sex so all that really leaves you is clothing and behavior. I'm old enough to remember (in the late 60s - early/mid 70s) when straight people objected to the term "straight" because they preferred to be called "normal."
It's exactly the same thing. They're rejecting a label that corresponds to their gender because they want to keep trans people as the "other" and cis people as the "default/normal".
@The Riddler They probably said it like that because of the derogatory usage of normal towards the LGBTQ community. As if being homosexual or "not normal" in that kind of use is bad. We are aware that being "abnormal" doesn't make us any less by definition, but referring to yourself as normal and then referring to the LGBTQ as different or weird comes off as an attack because of the negative usage. It's mostly about wording, and why they are referring to themselves as "normal" or the default of society. It's because people use it to discriminate. ex. race, racist white people (during salve times here in the US) believed they're were above others because they believed they were the "normal" ones as if that made them better. This is why slavery was as bad as it was in the US. They viewed African Americans as "different" based on their skin. Now by definition, they were different, just as Caucasians were different to them as African Americans. But this is not the kind of difference we are referring to. We are speaking of the difference that's kind of like calling people weird. The words people use to bully others. Coming along with different brings fear because people fear what they don't know or understand. The truth is there is no "Normal" there is no "Default" in a society, we are all different, none of us are exactly the same in all categories. Meaning either we're all normal or were all different.
I’m a CisWoman who has no problem with being called Cis, though this wasn’t always the case. When I first heard the word it bothered me, I didn’t understand why it was used. I did my own research into the term and realised that I was getting upset over nothing. Even then (before I understood) I didn’t consider it to be a slur. Your videos have helped educate me even more over time and I really appreciate the work you put in to them. It must take its toll over time, having to look into things like this, so I hope you’re taking care of yourself too. Unrelated to the video but I LOVE your eye makeup today, it’s so pretty! You’re so talented at makeup, it always looks amazing! Edited for clarity Edit 2: can everyone please stop arguing in the comments, my notifications are going nuts 😂
Im glad you educated yourself. Allys are important to any movement. Its important to have the work of educating taken off the shoulders of the minority.
@UCaUYfqCv6s6zOlDVMLUmiKw “Cis” is short for “cisgender” so it just means you’re not trans. If you identify as non-cis because your gender doesn’t align 100% with your sex assigned at birth, that’s fine. That might place you under the nonbinary umbrella. Label yourself how you want, just don’t invalidate people’s gender identity. Edit: The person this was directed at apparently deleted their comment. What I said still stands.
I’ve literally had conversations online with people who are like “I’ve been called ‘cis’ by the gays, I’m no sissy!” because they think “cis” sounds too much like “sissy” and i just can’t understand masculinity so fragile
Like the comment at the end said, people are saying “cis is a slur” because adding a prefix to woman implies there are multiple types of woman. It’s becoming a a simple descriptor rather than a significant characteristic that strongly changes the way you think about that person and that doesn’t align with their views
Nothing is ''man'' in you bcz Trans people are not men or women! Real people are not insecure, men and women are not trans, so people like you can only use male and female since that only speaks about the right gender. No way you would become male either when you are born a female.
As a cisgender woman, you’re one of the strongest women I know Samantha. Personally I don’t feel threatened by this word at all. I truly believe that some people just want to have an excuse to hate on transgender women or trans people in general. We can all coexist peacefully.
@@gjmptw8419 Living her truth openly. Trans people are murdered simply for existing. I don’t care if you don’t agree with people being trans. No one deserves to get killed simply for existing. Cisgender woman here to share my love for you and the work you do. People say "the left" is full of crybabies who throw a tantrum over nothing but "the right" out here literally starting a protest over being offended by a word prefix created by actual scientists/medical professionals...
They literally cry about having to wear a piece of cloth over their face, it’s not even like a big deal unless you are medically exempt. Wearing a mask does not take away your human rights!
This is like people that will say "black man" when referring to a black man, and "man" when referring to a white man, and then get defensive when you give them side eye for it.
Absolutely! Basically the "default" setting in society is cis het white Christian male. And anything outside those parameters is supposedly what needs defining. According to those views a white man is the "real" or "normal" man. The cis woman is the "real" or "normal" woman. And so on.
@@aprilrae6551 Why do you even use the words cis and trans then? You don't believe someone's gender can be different from their sex. Which is about as dense as believing that race dictates culture. Just be honest and say you don't believe in gender at all.
Language is such an interesting topic. Sometimes as people I think we wish language would stay static and never change. However language evolves, it is always changing. When I was growing up the idea of "Cis" or "Trans" was not part of the vocabulary nor was it part of the common language. The idea that "Cis" is a slur is ridiculous. It is simply a prefix to add clarity, when required, nothing more.
I mean cis and trans have been used for hundreds of years. Trans just means across from or different and cis just means same. Which is where transgender and cisgender come from. The same gender as ones sex or different gender from ones sex.
@Pat O should a stranger in your eyes call a transwoman a transwoman in public? Or just woman? Just woman right? Well same reason for me, i just want to be called guy and not cis guy. Its unasked inppropriate labelling.
@@N3mdraz How often ARE you called a cis man? Pretty much only in regards to specific discussions of gender as a way to differentiate from non-cis people. Assuming you are straight, would you prefer to be called non-gay? Or are you REALLY preferring to be called a "normal" or "real" man?
@@CorwinFound well since this is the trend it's happening more and more and to be honest im not comfortable that strangers using cis to label me so casually in a conversation. Just call me man or bisexual man if it's about orientation. @@N3mdraz The thing is, generally people only use 'cis' when talking about gender identity which is by itself been talked about more and more, also there shouldn't be any reason for people to feel uncomfortable been called 'cis' since it's literal meaning is 'not-trans', as is 'attracted to both male and female' de literal definition of bisexual. Gender identity and sexual orientation are two different things, thus requiring 2 different prefixes, you are a bisexual man, but that doesn't inform your gender identity, which I assume is cis, so if we were to define you using both gender identity and sexual orientation, you are a bi cis man, one does not exclude the other
I recently came out as non-binary, but even when I identified as a cis woman, I knew it wasn’t a slur. Slurs are meant to dehumanize someone. If you don’t want to be labeled as “cis” and just a woman or man, I think that it’s fine. Labels are meant to make you feel comfortable with yourself, but to call it a slur is a reach.
@@unknowns78 People have the right to reject a label as much as they have the right to embrace it. In both past and (unfortunately) present, people have taken others’ identity as a form of oppression, whether it be gender identity, sexual orientation, hair, name, or culture (just to name a few).
As a cis man I've never been offended hearing that term being used. I think that last quote you ended on is true. And I think that's why they claim it's a "demotion". It's because "to the privileged, equality feels like oppression"
Seeing that last sentence actualized in real life is really sad to me honestly. I know people are all on their own journeys and I shouldn't expect everyone to be super chill with the subject overnight, but the amount of grown-ass adults with huge platforms that are so self-righteous and un-self-aware about how transparently whiny and selfish they're being is incredibly disappointing.
The arguments about Cis are the exact same ones I heard as a kid from people upset that the word Heterosexual made them and Homosexuals equal. So that says a lot doesn’t it.
When I saw this title I was so confused- cis is just short for cisgender, the same way trans is short for transgender. I think I lost brain cells hearing that people actually believe it's a slur
@@symph0nyofdestruction. Like, I could call someone mac and cheese as an insult, would be weird but I could, but it still wouldn't be a slur, same with cis.
My brother was all "why do we need labels rargh" when cis came up in conversation, and it was only telling him that it's a Latin word that's been around for a loooong time that he accepted that it's not just a new word used to talk down to people who aren't trans. I suppose it's to be expected when you watch the sort of shite he does that he'd be introduced to the word that way.
Even if it was a new term, labels are important. They help differentiate people and make concepts easier to understand. Generally when I refer to a woman, whether cisgender or trans, I just say woman. But there are plenty of times when you need to identify that you are talking about a specific type of woman. Having a label just makes conversation easier. I hate when people have to get so hung up over these kinds of things and make basic communication that much harder.
@Johnny Hammersticks Just because your gender identity aligns with your biological sex doesn't mean you're without a gender identity. If you identify with your biological sex then you're cisgender, period.
As a psych researcher we use cisgender and transgender in our studies all the time, its not meant to demean anybody, its just a signifier, like trans and cis polypeptides in biology.

It's sad that some of these people are like,"women without a uterus, a vagina, and ovaries aren't real women" trying to hurt trans women but also hurt women who aren't born with the above but still are cisgender. Edit: my mom recently had a hysterectomy, is she no longer a woman!
THANK YOU. My mom is one of the strongest women I know, she's a single parent who had to grow up in an abusive household. She moved out at 16, got a medical degree, became a nurse, then later became an Indigenous child and family social worker. All while raising a kid on her own. Later in life she had to get her Uterus removed for medical reasons. Does that suddenly make her any less of a woman?

So far no one has given me a term without excluding trans women out of the women-category or saying stuff like "normal" or lumping cis women together with trans men. I wouldnt have a problem to adopt a different neutral term than the neutral "cis". But no one is seriously suggesting one.
I've had people say use the term biological. Then I have to explain to them why all biological does is tell me what someone's chromosomes are so we still need the term cis.
@Johnny Hammersticks Because sex isn't the only determiner of whether someone is a man or women. If they are cis then I know their gender matches their sex.
@Johnny Hammersticks Transwomen are women. Woman is the umbrella term, cis women and transwomen are subsets of women. Most of the time you can just refer to either a cis or transwomen as woman but like I said before, there are certain situations when you need to differentiate.
@Johnny Hammersticks You just proved my initial point: What you wanna do, is to exclude trans women out of the women category. The toilet I am going to is the womens toilet, not the "women and trans women" or the "women and trans men" toilet. I have a womens name. I shop in the womens clothing section. For most practical purposes I am simply a woman. Just as cis women are for most practical purposes just women.

In Italian we have different adjectives that start with the prefix "cis" used to say "on this side", like cisalpino (on this side of the alps) or cispadano (on this side of the pianura padana). So I'm really confused as to why we, cisgender people, should be offended by it. Before lashing out against someone or something, it would be nice if people would educate themselves. They look so dumb this way
It's has nothing to do with the meaning of the word. It has to do with the fact that trans people starting using this word to describe us and we don't like it. While countless trans people have went off on us for calling them names that fit but they don't like.... It just basic human decency to respect a group that says they don't wanna be called that, nobody goes around calling gays "homos" even tho it's short for homosexual, cause it's a slur.
Anyone born a woman who feels comfortable being called a woman, who would be offended being accidentally called "him" or "sir", that means she DOES have the gender identity of woman. And also the privilege of never having to think of it, because how society percieves her based on her biological sex aligns with her own perception of herself. That is, by definition, a cis woman. (With a ton of cis privilege and ignorance, intentional or not.)

I think a point that wasn't brought up Is that, like... Slurs are pejorative against a particular target group, specifically a given oppressed people. "Cis" is not a pejorative. It isn't an insult. It's a completely neutral description for people who are not trans. A term _cannot_ be a slur without being derogatory, and cis simply isn't. It's the exact same as claiming that "straight"/"heterosexual", "white", "able-bodied", "neurotypical", or any of the sort are slurs. The only reason anyone is offended by any of these words is because they believe they should just be called "normal", while any other given group is "weird", the "other".
Women are an oppressed group. And the males who are identifying as women are oppressing women and policing female language WHICH is still the patriarchy
Women are Women. Men are Men. When the distinction of "TransGender" is made, the contrasting distinction of "CisGender" must also be made, as a matter of definitional linguistics.
I think cis and trans are definitely important prefixes, especially in a medical context. Sure, I can tell my doctors that I was assigned female at birth (AFAB) but "trans man" is way shorter and way more common than AFAB, especially in German.

@Johnny Hammersticks Wut? Everyone (at least from what I’ve seen) has some form of gender identity whether they discovered it for themselves or accepted the one that was given to them. Even agender is technically still a gender identity. Since we’re a species that likes our clarifying cards, we add prefixes or other words to our broader categories to be as specific as possible. I didn’t think I’d ever have to say this, but cisgender is a valid identity just like any other.
I think one of the issues for cis is that it's almost exclusively used in context of discussions of gender and sex whereas when a person who isn't cis is discussed in ANY context, the modifier trans IS used. Ideally, transgender people would only be described as trans when it's a relevant discussion about their gender.

Cis women = women born as females Trans women = women born in a male body Cis men = men born as males Trans men = men born in a female body My chemistry example just shows that the terms cis and trans have been used for ages and that cis is nit a slur but just the correct terminology
Not surprised there is ignorance on Cis. Glad you clarified it is not a new term. Confession. The first time I ever heard the term cisgender was on South Park. Mr. Garison who early in the show’s history transition to Ms Garison then back, explains it on the episode where Eric Cartman pretends to come out as Trans just so he can use the girls bathroom when the boys room was full.
I am a language professional, and I also studied Latin and Greek, so I understand language. However, I do reject the label "cis." Don't force new definitions on me when I've always known who I am. Respect me, and I will respect you. I will call a trans woman "she," no problem. And no, a trans woman doesn't "have" to say she's a trans woman, unless that is relevant. For example, your channel is about opinions through the lens of a trans woman, right? Being trans is relevant to your channel.
I want to thank you, Samantha. The way you come off as so comfortable and confident as a trans person is legitimately inspiring. I was raised in a transphobic christian household, so I never bothered to think about trans issues when I was younger. You were actually the first trans youtuber I ever watched, back when I was still deeply transphobic. When I saw you in your video just being yourself and read all the supportive comments you were getting, that was the first time I saw trans people from a new persective. I still deal with a lot of random intrusive thoughts, but I finally understand now. I just wanted to let you know that you were the first step on my journey to trans acceptance and accepting that I'm non-binary! I can't thank you enough for that. P.S, I LOVE your makeup in this video!
Stuff like this often makes me wonder, do some people really have it so easy that they gotta make problems out of something like this? But then I remember, nah, that's not it, they're just transphobic. Thank you Samantha for your bravery and courage, I really admire you!

Slur means 1.an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation. "the comments were a slur on the staff" So the only slurs are calling trans women men or trans men women, which is highly ironic.
@The Riddler Is the F slur a slur? If the f slur means homosexual its true, still a slur tho because its used to insult us. Why are you pissed that cis isnt a slur? Cause that could be applied to cis too. I am cis, that is true by definition. Yet people are calling it a slur.. Double sided? I mean you tell me, is the truth a slur?
Some people want to claim they’re being oppressed so badly, when all they’re being asked to do is treat others with respect and compassion. It’s disgusting, and incredibly immature.
it's so ridiculous because our community will be called shit like "transsexuals," "crossdressers," "transgenders," and other such names and cis people get offended by being called cis when half the time, the people getting offended don't know what the prefix means.
I actually shocks me everytime someone doesn't know the difference between sex and gender. They should definitely be teaching the science behind the difference between sex and gender early in schools. I honestly feel like that would really reduce the amount of transphobia

They really wanna be oppressed so bad. I love how some of these people are acting like they are being discriminated against but then discriminate against trans people.
Do these people know why we call people who are not gay "straight?" It is just language used to quickly let people know what we are talking about. Like if I'm having a conversation, I could either say "this person is not gay" or just say straight, and same with cis. It does not mean we are "othering" cis/straight people, there are just contexts in normal conversation where it is genuinely useful to have an easy/quick term to refer to people
Languages change but the meaning is still the same. If you don't want to use ''cis'' that's you. It's a choice. What bothers me is when people start saying '' Transwomen are women and transmen are men.'' It throws me off because women are female adults and men are male adults. How can transwomen be women and transmen are men?🤨
"white man" is a subset of "man", "white" is not a slur. "young man" is a subset of "man", "young" is not a slur. "cis man" is a subset of "man", therefore "cis" is a slur. Y'all alright?
Love your content Samantha! I shared your channel with my therapist hehe, hopefully that is ok. She's an awesome cis woman who counsels transgender clients and clients on the autism spectrum.

It is 100% a slur. It's used daily as a slur. Much like 'woke' is a slur and 'boomer' is a slur. You're not using those around me. Only online, where you feel safe.
Cis is just people who aren't Trans. I don't understand where this idea came from. It's like saying children is a slur for underage people or something ridicoulous like that.
'Cis' isn't a slur the same way that 'trans' isn't a slur. Both are literally just pre-fixes. If they wanted to cry about anything, they could at least actually make some level of arguement about "cissy" being a slur but even that is just a satirical response to the T-slur.
I definitely got offended when someone called me cis(back when I actually was cis and not a hetero flexible demiboy) I kept saying that I am a man and nothing else. Honestly I can't believe how religiously conservative I was back then lol.
that makes more sense coming from a rightwing socially conservative background than the TERF perspective which seeks to completely own feminist discourse & present as liberal/tolerant to all but transfolk. Maybe it's the difference between believing that "different is not okay" and "different is okay, but only within parameters I set that are legit by default? Just my $.02
In terms of 'Additional genders' or unusual gender expression cultures that developed under Abrahamic faiths are definitely ones where the presence of such was next to non-existent so it seems pretty... Normal? That people from conservative backgrounds may have an initial "what" reaction if exposed to such 'news' later in life. Everytime such a person tries to pose TERFs as their 'ally' in some way or 'more rational than all those SJWs', I kindly remind them TERFs hate everyone except themselves (including ciswomen who are tradtitional/conservative or progressive), they just happen to hate trans women the most right now.
Samantha, thankyou for acknowledging this. I am cisgender. It isn’t a slur, it just seems that people WANT to be offended. It reminds me of people who whined about they-them pronouns as if they were a thing already.
Cis is not a slur, but it’s also something the majority of people shouldn’t feel pushed into using because of a minority. It doesn’t mean people are transphobic because they disagree with the use of a prefix. 🤦🏻
I hate the "They're pushing young masculine girls to transition" because I was not masculine. I wore my hair long, in braids with bows, and wore dresses and tight jeans and push-up bras and painted my nails and did my makeup because I tried to pretend I wasn't feeling what I was.
As a newly nb identifying person and long time ally people are so sensitive to language change that imo happened bc of heteronormative language and culture. If we didn't have non-trans inclusive constructs we wouldn't need the adapted use of language, or using long standing language that expresses newer ideas and constructs. The only times i was referred to as a cis was from an individual who was hostile and disrespecting me. They usually said it the same exact way anyone says another slur to another group. For example " "You cis" , " you f$#@inh cis" are just a few of the times i was called a cis. It was said that way.

It's exactly the same thing. They're rejecting a label that corresponds to their gender because they want to keep trans people as the "other" and cis people as the "default/normal".
Should have just been saying hetero anyway. 👫💖
Jesus Christ.. 😭 people just wanna believe that they’re the “superior” when they’re born into something that’s not being oppressed.
This!
When I first heard the word it bothered me, I didn’t understand why it was used. wym? I am a tall cis woman and im just confused at this comment is there a joke here maybe or…?
This joke is meant to be just as ridiculous as cis folk saying they don’t want cis to be a term, because it makes them a subcategory. Maybe it’s a kind of stale and on the dry end, but I’d hope it was at least a little funny. Tough crowd.
It's basically the same as people a long time ago saying, "I'm not straight, I'm just NORMAL!"
Thank you for that tweet you closed the video with. That is truly what this whole thing is about.

Also you have given me so much more confidence in myself with every video I watch of yours. Thank you!
In fact, I first knew the terms cis and trans from chemistry class. It is called cis-trans isomerism and it basically describes how a molecule has the same components just in a different order.
Cis molecule:
Cl Cl
\ /
C=C
/ \
H H
Trans molecule:
Cl H
\ /
C=C
/ \
H Cl
It has been used for centuries it's not a new thing😂
well- i do find chemistry highy offencive cuz i can never seem to pass a test
@Johnny Hammersticks man shush and let the dude tell sum chemistry facts
and not all female people are cis. some are trans men or nb people. only cis people have cis privilege cuz cis people dont get discrimination for their gender identity (sexism is sum diff)
@@kimpieolinkie794 I'm not a dude I'm a girl
@Johnny Hammersticks what?!
Do you even understand what cis and trans means??
Being cis gendered means you're gender allines with your sex and being trans means that your gender is different from what you are assigned at birth.
Cis women = women born as females
Trans women = women born in a male body
Cis men = men born as males
Trans men = men born in a female body
My chemistry example just shows that the terms cis and trans have been used for ages and that cis is nit a slur but just the correct terminology
@@m.k.9572 noteddd. i personally use dude as a gender neutral termmmm
I genuinely have someone in my life who thinks cis is a slur💀
Same, but two people T^T
I am a language professional, and I also studied Latin and Greek, so I understand language. However, I do reject the label "cis." I see no need for my person and identity to be redefined halfway through my life through the lens of a minority. I totally agree with the statement at 3'15". Don't force new definitions on me when I've always known who I am.
I choose to interpret “Cis is a slur” as “Please refer to me as cis ten times more than you would have before.”
You probably gonna get decked, no?
I'm Cis and I constantly refer to myself as being Cis. I've seen plenty of other Cis People do it too.
OmG you can’t say that.
That is soooooo offensive 💅🏻🤭✋🏻👑👏🏻⭐️
@The Riddler Trans people are normal and no different than anybody else. I stand with the Transgender community FOREVER. Argument done. I have nothing to prove to you. You guys just feed the algorithm and make this transgender TH-camrs more popular anyway.
@The Riddler Riddle me this: Who follows a transgender TH-camr, but is still stupid enough to think that the surgery involves chopping off the penis. Somebody isn't paying attention to the videos, but he is feeding the algorithm.
@The Riddler by all means though: Keeping commenting ridiculous statements. Keep feeding the algorithm and making these videos more likely to be seen by people that are actually interested in them. Keep making Samantha more popular.
“If it is, I am so sorry I have been slurring this whole time” is perfect, I love it
Some people didn't pay attention in school, and it shows.
Love you're videos really good and informative.
Slur means
1.an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation.
"the comments were a slur on the staff"
So the only slurs are calling trans women men or trans men women, which is highly ironic.
It’s disgusting, and incredibly immature.
gorgeous!!! also love the sarcasm in the beginning lmao
“We all know what this argument is. It’s silliness.”
Laughed very hard
it's so ridiculous because our community will be called shit like "transsexuals," "crossdressers," "transgenders," and other such names and cis people get offended by being called cis when half the time, the people getting offended don't know what the prefix means.
I actually shocks me everytime someone doesn't know the difference between sex and gender. They should definitely be teaching the science behind the difference between sex and gender early in schools. I honestly feel like that would really reduce the amount of transphobia
I can admit the first time I heard the term cis . I had no idea what it meant and I thought it might be an insult . But a google search will fix not knowing what a word means .
I love how with every video i watch, whenever Samantha says “follow me on tiktok”, my brain immediately says “ bold of you to assume i have tiktok “
I’m non binary myself and I never seen cis as a slur, even during the time where I identified as a woman. I wish more people understood that cis is not a slur ! also, Im coming out as non binary and still questioning !!
Its literally like a straight person saying “no! Don’t call me straight! I do not consent to that 🤬”.... yeahhhh can’t see that happening 👀🤦🏻♀️
meanwhile Samantha's makeup just keeps getting better and better, even when we thought it was physically impossible for makeup to ascend to a higher level of perfection than last time.
They really wanna be oppressed so bad. I love how some of these people are acting like they are being discriminated against but then discriminate against trans people.
Cis here and the idea of the word being "offensive" never even crossed my mind before. These people are on something
"...because it's my channel and i do what i want" yes, Samantha, please!
How can transwomen be women and transmen are men?🤨
I find it alarming that it even crosses people’s minds that it could be a slur, why do people always have to make a problem out of nothing?
"white man" is a subset of "man", "white" is not a slur.
"young man" is a subset of "man", "young" is not a slur.
"cis man" is a subset of "man", therefore "cis" is a slur.
Y'all alright?
@The Riddler ... according to your definition of "men".
Privileged people want to be oppressed so badly, I swear
I mean if they want to trade, Id gladly accept that trade
Because in today’s day and age there is power and privilege in the oppression card 🤷♀️
@@straysquirrel367 I think all the negative parts of being oppressed cancel out the positives, by alot

Hi Samantha, thank you for your content. Recently, I realised I was genderfluid and your content has been so beneficial in it! :)
By this logic, "blonde woman" is a slur because it makes blonde women a subset of their own gender, so obviously we should stop using blonde and blond
But what about natural blondes vs dyed blondes? Loooool
The shrier book shows the irreversible damage to children
I just came out as trans yesterday. You are so inspiring.
Some random lipid: "cis is a slur! There is no cis fatty acids! There are only trans fatty acids and fatty acids! You're just making up words to force me into a subset of my own biomolecule!"
We do not not need a pre-fix, the Latin word was never used in this way. We understand you do not understand consent, why would you? You do not understand anything about actual women.
Cisgender woman🙋🏽♀️ and no it's not a slur. Cisgender is literally a term for people who identify as the gender they were assigned to. The ACTUAL c word is a slur that is used towards asian people.
I feel like people who don’t understand the concept of gender and always talk about chromosomes are half-way there to non-binary town, but their car broke down 😂
This was me a few years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised.
@johnnyhammersticks243 Most people are actually cisgender
Can you imagine a white person telling a black person.... "I'm not white, I'm normal"? They'd get called a racist so fast. lol
6:07 of course she’s an ex British politician, it’s called TERF island for a reason lmao
As a cis woman this is…oh my god. Also Samantha I love yours videos and they are so understandable for me and I love you❤️
Samantha, thankyou for acknowledging this.
I think people are trying way too hard to separate us all, tbh
I hate the "They're pushing young masculine girls to transition" because I was not masculine. I wore my hair long, in braids with bows, and wore dresses and tight jeans and push-up bras and painted my nails and did my makeup because I tried to pretend I wasn't feeling what I was.
As a newly nb identifying person and long time ally people are so sensitive to language change that imo happened bc of heteronormative language and culture. If we didn't have non-trans inclusive constructs we wouldn't need the adapted use of language, or using long standing language that expresses newer ideas and constructs. Subbed and belled, love your channel
Love that you are so sensitive to people's needs. And generally, you have mature, lovely views on gender and people.
