Installing a Purple Martin Tower

If you’d like to assemble and install an aluminum housing pole for Purple Martins, this video is for you! It’s complicated, but hopefully watching this video will help de-mystify the process.

North Fork Audubon Society volunteers help homeowners construct an aluminum pole and Purple Martin housing in Southold, New York.
Day one: digging hole, pouring concrete footing, and setting the ground stake. 2 hours.
Day two: attaching pulley and cable to pole, attaching perches, assembling housing components, and connecting the housing to the pole and cable. 3.5 hours.

First of all, there was absolutely NO REASON to fill the center of the ground socket with concrete! That was a waste of time, and a waste of concrete!! Then, secondly, You people did NOT do your studying first!!
A purple martin house should be placed strategically in the center of any opening to maximize the distance between the housing and any trees or buildings!!
Instead, you people situated the martin house so that it looked decorative amongst the Landscaping!!
You should NOT have situated the Pole that close to shrubbery/trees/vegetation!!
Purple Martins will NOT nest in housing that's too close to trees or shrubs!
Also, why did the old woman need to see for herself the readings on the level and not trust Brian's word who just checked using a level on both vertical sides of the ground socket???
Why didn't that old lady just mind her own business and go make sandwiches and cookies and beverages for these hard working fellas Brian and Oscar???
