ST's Smart Asset Tracking algorithm, which is a critical aspect of modern business operations, involves monitoring and managing valuable assets throughout their lifecycle.
STEVAL-SMARTAG2, a flexible NFC Tracker evaluation board with sensors, includes a comprehensive software library and a sample application to monitor and log sensor data over NFC from an Android or iOS device. It is our latest NFC sensor tag development kit designed with keeping in mind the long battery life and cost-effectiveness. This solution runs on an STM32L4 ultra-low power, it is powered by a standard coin cell battery and can support energy harvesting enabled by NFC ST25DV. Along with many environmental and motion MEMS sensors the Smartag2 includes two dedicated 3-axis linear accelerometers: a high G to detect/record impact and an ultra-low power LIS2DUXS12 accelerometer that supports machine learning capabilities along with a Decision tree classifier that enables the recognition of the status of an asset at lowest power consumption possible, without any intervention of the main microcontroller.
The scooter status can be monitored locally on mobile phone using ST Asset Tracking App or remotely on the Asset Tracking Web dashboard. Thus, ST has all the blocks to implement a Black Box for an e-mobility application, and STEVAL-SmartTag2 embodies a possible implementation.
