From your first video about durian in Malaysia till this last video, u kept showing how both of u so much in love with durian. My suggestion, why dont both of u pay a visit to a real durian orchard or durian farm in Pahang or in Perak and experiance yourself at durian farm waiting for durian to drop and pick up durian on the ground by yourself and eat it while its really fresh and full of gassy? I bet u guys will love it like crazy...
I subscribed to ichang channel when she visit Malaysia 3years ago for durian. The moment this video flash back to 3years ago really bring me to tears. Time really flies.... Btw, Welcome back to Malaysia Ichang and Jimmy!
"Durian Kampung" means the durian planted in the rural area/village (kampung) in the 1970s and the tree today grown very tall and the trunk is big. Those time, only a few species of durian identified. Nowadays (50 years later) the 1970s planted durian is still producing good amount of fruits and still become one of the favorite taste of durian and for elderly people who taste this species of durian will triggered their childhood memory.
durian kampung means non hybrid species in existence as natural wild species before the goverment's agricultural agency MARDI began to produce hybrids like D24 post independance Malaya and subsequently innovative big scale private farms began to produce their own hybrids. So durian kampung has existed since time immemorial
omg, the last conversation between ichang and jimmy at the end of this video really touch my heart. You described well how ur feeling about durian, and how much you love durian as much as we as Malaysian really appreciate any kind or brand of durian that we have....
Back to the humble beginnings....and this is how ICHANG became famous.....Tears of joy... Yup,,,,nothing like fresh durian in Malaysia ...sitting at roadside stall....Pick & Choose!!!! NICE!!! ....Stay safe out there.
I felt the same way too, I have been only eating MSK and Black Thorn also for so many years, it was nice but started to get "bored" of the same taste. And this year I started to go for cheaper type of durian similar to Kampung and I enjoyed it very much because it gives me different (and unexpected) flavors.

These past two years during the lockdown you and Jimmy struggled a lot. The lockdown both in Malaysia and Hong Kong tested the nerves and relationship of everyone. Yes, despite lots of unruly comments from some tourists from the West, at last we see Asian who appreciate durian. Don't listen what other people have to say as we Malaysians LOVE durian. (if you're in Kelantan, try for "lempuk durian" or "dodol durian")

Now, iChang and Jimmy is fully graduated as a local Malaysian hahaha. Locals who really appreciate Durian is indeed its freshness (first). 😉 I grew up eating durian kampung and enjoyed just as much as the (sometimes overpriced) branded ones
ichang really a durian graduate, she picks her own durians, knows how to open them, is knowledgeable and can talk about durians for hours. impressive indeed.
Betul. Dont be picky. As long as it is Durian. Eat it. Durian kampung, if have balance. Pulut durian, bubur kacang durian will be a nice dessert. Yummilicious..
IChang is a true durian lover, lucky to have such a supportive husband👍😄 you did the right thing to try the other varieties of durian- best way to broaden your knowledge of this ‘love or hate’ fruit, and what better place than at the native home of durians.
I can understand the feeling..i've moved from perlis to pahang recently..and there is a nasi kandar stall i love the most back in perlis..like i eat there 3/4 times a week..i miss the nasi kandar there i can cry everytime i think about it..😢
This is the video I've been waiting for. "iChang meets Thorny" The Next Chapter. No durian around the world can beat our supreme Malaysian durians. Do make a video trip to Bentong,Pahang durian orchard.
choose the bulat one. sure isi banyak. sometime the not so perfect round one there are lot that has no meat. usually malay dont eat the expensive one. only durian kampung. it is already delicious
That's beautiful durian you picked.. I wish more people especially foreigners get to experience something like this, "fresh" durian. Not frozen or old bad ones.. like you see in most tasting durian videos and they hate it cluelessly.
iChang I share the same Durian Philosophy as you. I came to the same conclusion years ago. The randomness of Kampung Durian makes eating durian much more fun.
I wonder since you guys love durian so much, have you try durian goreng? durian crepe?, durian cake or our legend childhood durian snacks? I hope you guys will try it later and I love to see your reaction hehehe ❤️
You guys know the good stuff! I am from Singapore and most of our durian also comes from Malaysia.. a lot nicer and more complex flavours than Thai varieties if you ask me. Thai durians are usually only single dimensionally sweet and more fleshy. But Malaysian durians are more bittersweet and have a noticeable alcoholic aftertaste. Usually most of the durian in Singapore comes from Pahang. Sometimes we place durian in the fridge or freezer (not so we can keep it for longer but only until it is cold/chilled) so it tastes more like ice cream but it will make your fridge/freezer smell of durian LOL Maybe you should try durian in Sabah (East Malaysia) next time, I heard they have some unique varieties too
Wauuuu 😍 icang dan Jimmy dah pandai makan durian😂😂♥️👍👍👍

Locals who really appreciate Durian is indeed its freshness (first). 😉
I grew up eating durian kampung and enjoyed just as much as the (sometimes overpriced) branded ones

Betul. Dont be picky. As long as it is Durian. Eat it. Durian kampung, if have balance. Pulut durian, bubur kacang durian will be a nice dessert. Yummilicious..

Feel like yesterday. It's been 3 years since Ur last Malaysian durian! How time flies ... I had my udang merah yesterday ...
IChang is a true durian lover, lucky to have such a supportive husband👍😄 you did the right thing to try the other varieties of durian- best way to broaden your knowledge of this ‘love or hate’ fruit, and what better place than at the native home of durians.
Weehuu. Hope your durian craving satisfied. No notes this time since ichang can scan durian with her eyes.
I can understand the feeling..i've moved from perlis to pahang recently..and there is a nasi kandar stall i love the most back in perlis..like i eat there 3/4 times a week..i miss the nasi kandar there i can cry everytime i think about it..😢
You're amazing!!! Hope to see you both around or stumbled upon you here in KL! 😅😘 Always take care
Sincerely, seldom Japanese love Durian tastes, but you are special, I admire you. Welcome back to Malaysia~🤗

ichang and durian can't be separate... cuteness overload seeing you eating durian
Happy to see both of u enjoyed your durians.Welcome to Malaysia 🤩
You guys know the good stuff! I am from Singapore and most of our durian also comes from Malaysia.. a lot nicer and more complex flavours than Thai varieties if you ask me. Thai durians are usually only single dimensionally sweet and more fleshy. But Malaysian durians are more bittersweet and have a noticeable alcoholic aftertaste. Usually most of the durian in Singapore comes from Pahang. Sometimes we place durian in the fridge or freezer (not so we can keep it for longer but only until it is cold/chilled) so it tastes more like ice cream but it will make your fridge/freezer smell of durian LOL Maybe you should try durian in Sabah (East Malaysia) next time, I heard they have some unique varieties too
welcome to malaysia , icang and jimmy
