Being a jain I have bit of an idea about Jainism not spreading around, in many of the Jain texts travel by water is highly restricted as water has many microscopic bacteria present in it and core Jain philosophy was highly considerate of it, hence only the local presence

Please research more about Sri Lankan Civil War and LTTE, I have researched a lot and don’t think it was about religion especially because Prabhakaran was Christian. The United States and 20 plus countries of the world had supported Sri Lanka government against LTTE, so why would a Christian/western country be supporting LTTE who are even fighting against India too? Abhijit, on the topic of the Norwegian involvement in Sri Lanka peace negotiations, I think you're probably unnecessarily diminishing the role that Norway has played with these things traditionally. Norway might be an ally of the US but we're not a 'proxy' as you kind of allude to, we've unilaterally supported peace talks in many conflicts through the decades. It has little or nothing to do with Norway being a nominally 'Christian' country either. It's not something new at all. And remember, the Nobel Peace Prize is handed out in Oslo as opposed to Stockholm and the reasoning for this is that Norway hasn't started a war in modern history. I think you're generally very good at 'reading in between the lines' on geopolitics though and I appreciate what you're doing. Greetings from Norway.
