I tried the baking soda test one morning. I never burped at all but I may have used too much water. I think I had 6 oz of water . The nurse at the liver and to GI place that I go to got very frustrated with me when I told her that I wanted my stomach acid tested. She said flat out you don't have two little acid you have too much. I don't think that most healthcare workers like it when patients are informed

A few months ago I was diagnosed with gastritis / inflammation of the stomach lining. I don't think food feels like it just 'sits' there, but with or without food I feel a pressure against my ribs (sternum area). It feels like a fist just below my sternum. My throat also feels tight. I do not feel acid reflux. Sometimes the pain is also directly opposite, in my back. The CT scan also showed pancreas divisum. Do not have money for clinic, but wish I could get well. I eat clean. They prescribed Pantoprazole, which did relieve intense burning in my stomach that I was experiencing at the time, but when taking it it DID feel like food was 'just sitting there'. I stopped taking it. If I wind up back where I was before, I take a tablet before bed and it does seem to help things calm down. I just would love to get this healed. They want to do scopes, but the prep for the lower makes me so sick it takes weeks to recover.

Hmm. Why don't you minimally set up a consultation so that we can start moving you in the right direction. When you say you don't have the finances for care, tell me more. This can be in private of course. Just call us at 727-335-0400. You shouldn't continue having to suffer and the PPI is quite dangerous long-term. I'd be delighted to help!

Hello, I just spoke with your office this morning and sounds like a great place to start. I just wish it could be covered by my insurance, but if my finances change I will definitely be reaching out to your office. I believe I may have a sliding hiatal hernia and it's so awful. I really need help with this, hopefully I can work with you soon 😊

I'm glad you reached out. We are here for you. It is unfortunate that insurance doesn't cover what we do. They used to, but no longer.
