Hi Janie, sorry to hear you got rain during you and Robbie’s event 😢. Just a side note, you might want to plant you’re indeterminate tomatoes near your trellis /arch and the determinate ones in the cages. This way you can attach the indeterminate to the trellis as it grows. Glad to see I’m not the only one that forgets to water things. 😆 happy gardening
Yes I'm a mess from top to bottom when gardening, look no where close to Janey ! HAPPY and PRODUCTIVE gardening to you Cynthia this gardening season !!
Hey Janey! I received my hat today that I ordered from you. I love it and can’t wait to wear it. Your sweet note was such a personal touch and I was surprised to see it. Made my day. Love watching your videos and seeing your new home come to your dream fruition. Thanks again.
I went to the Gardenpalooza at Baumans over the weekend. It was fabulous! I bought so many treasures! Lots of proven winners and the prettiest hanging basket. Thank you for telling us about it!
I’m looking forward to seeing you put your touch on the inside of your greenhouse. I’m sure it will be beautiful now that you are healed and the growing season is upon you!🥴❤️
I've used electrical tape to cover drip emitters before. It won't last forever which is probably a good thing if you want to change things up. It's such low pressure and can at least save little sections where you don't need water for the season.
So much fun to meet you both on rainy Saturday. We drove from Santa Rosa. The weather didn’t affect our wallets! Yikes, looking forward to planting all our PW plants! See you May 25 in Winters!🌞
Hi Janey🌺 . You arranged these pretty plants beautifully in the containers and your pink rose is very beautiful and you can add more roses like blue moon rose and double delight rose also purple twilight rose and Don Juan rose they look amazing in the garden . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
Hi Janey Everything looks amazing, thank you for sharing with us, when do we get a tour of your beautiful gardens.😊 Have a wonderful rest of the day. 🌸 🙂 👋 🌼 🌱 🌱
Janey! Please reconsider those looooong lengths of dip tubing! The 1/4” tubing automatically will reduce the water pressure then to make things worse it’s full of emitters so it’s losing even more pressure! So it’s likely that you’ll have a hard time with coverage for that entire bed. You may be better off to run one end of the bed with 1/2” (or your 5/8”) then couple into it for a shorter length of 1/4”.
Hey can you do a flower tour? Like a video where you just tour your garden because I love your flowers but I worry we will miss the blooms when you just do the monthly garden. I would seriously just watch a 5 minute video of clips of your flowers
Good morning, Janette! I ❤ your whole garden! The baskets came out lovely. You have such a great eye for color! Gorgeous! I can't believe how many beautiful planters you had hidden away! I think this is the first time I've seen the poppy art. So pretty! I picked up a lot of ceramic mushroom picks from Hobby Lobby because they reminded me of your garden.❤ You got so much done. Enjoy your week!💗
Hi Janey, garden is looking great. I live on Long Island NY and have a ton a squirrels too but I had no idea they tunnel 😱! Mine nest super high up in the trees! Moles make tunnels out here! As cute as those squirrels are they can reek havoc in the yard!
Hi Janey, sorry the Gridley event was rainy. I live near Bauman farms in Oregon and attended that event this last weekend. OMG it was spectacular!!!! They put on a marvelous event. Proven Winners reps helping out also. Wish you could have seen it. Hope all your events go as well. ❤❤❤❤
Perhaps you might consider moving your indeterminate tomato plants close to the trellis thay is attached to your metal grow planter. The tomato cages, i believe will not suffice. Or you could allow your indeterminate tomato plants cascade out of the planter and crawl aling the ground. Once i allowed my indeterminate tomato plants crawl aling the ground and then climb up into the wild blackberry canes. I had a super crop. The tomato variety was sweet millions
Janey❣️To go with your Darcy Bussell Rose, you should plant the beautiful perennial peanut. It’s perfect for your climate and it’s a ground cover that is a nitrogen fixer. It has gorgeous saturated buttery yellow blooms, and perfect spring green leaves. All of the plants around it will be so happy. Some people are using it as a grass replacement because the dense habit keeps away weeds, since the roots go deeper. It needs far less water. It would also be perfect in your gazebo bed area. I wish it could grow in my zone, but it only works as an annual where I am.
Hi Janey, Your garden is coming along in leeps and bounds, looking good, And yes Darcy Bussell is an English Ballerina, I love that she has such a beautiful Rose named after her XX
You should switch up the orange blossom with the other indeterminate and use the trellis to tie up that way your yield more as trellis has more growing space.jmo
All of my tomato trellis looked like yours, but I got my husband to cut them in the middle to make small ones and I use them when I need support for small shrubs or taller annuals cheers 🇦🇺Bronwyn
From Wikipedia: Paul Leroy Robeson April 9, 1898 - January 23, 1976) was an American bass-baritone concert artist, stage and film actor, professional football player, and activist who became famous both for his cultural accomplishments and for his political stances. A dark red heirloom tomato from the Soviet Union was given the name Paul Robeson.
I love the color combination in your olive tree planters. Thank you so much for mentioning Scaviola. I bought one for a planter last fall and loved it, and it is growing back beautifully. I would plant the indeterminate tomatoes against the trellis and train them up it. I hope you have another event closer to the Bay Area. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go to your event this past weekend.
Hi Janey, Planting around the green house will be Beautiful! Planting sphere shaped small boxwoods will look wonderful all four seasons along with perennials and annuals for color. It will look amazing! I enjoy watching you creating your new garden. It's really coming along and looks really nice so far.
Good morning Janie, I look forward to seeing you each morning, you make me smile. ❤. I have learned so much from you. It was so special watching your video on Robbie’s birthday surprise. Thanks for everything you do. 😊
I got to Bauman's Gardenpalooza on Saturday! It's about a 1.5 hour drive for me. We had been to their fall event but had never been in the spring. Thank you for sharing the tour with us a few weeks ago. Picked up some annuals and perennials but didn't go overboard because my order from Proven Winners had just arrived on Friday as well. It's a bit early yet here in the PNW so will need to babysit them for a bit yet before planting.
Hi Janey, the Proven Winners event was sooooo fun! The rain definitely didn’t stop anyone! Lol I had my eye on the polar peach recipe ever since they released it and I was so excited to see a display of POLAR PEACH! By the time I found it the superbena amethyst was all gone. 😭 I told my husband it was like Black Friday! Lol I just picked out something else pretty to go with the mix. The double twilight 😍💜 I grabbed some silver falls to add in too and that stuff is just gorgeous!! So excited to get in my garden and get planting! 😊
You should definitely try replanting or leaving your mini vista pink star in the ground this year, I cut mine back in winter and they came back just as vigorous this year, they’ve been blooming since my tulips had bloomed 💗 I live in Fresno,ca zone 9b as well also my vista jazberry, bubble gum, and another one with white and purple came back for me
The rose is such a pretty deep pink!! ❤ Also, Paul Robeson escaped slavery, was a civil rights activist and a highly educated man. He was an actor and even an attorney!
On my way to get tomato plants now. You inspire me. fyi...here in Houston our cylyemen are only winder plants like the pansies. They wilt/die in the heat. ?? Are your's different? LOVE everything you do and so enjoy these videos. Enjoyed the Saturday coffee one also where you answer some questions. You are a very busy Mama!!
Love love cyclamen. I have hardy cyclamen and hellebores planted under my sweet gum and oak trees. All have reserved and make a great ground cover. Also have an Appleblossom snapdragon that gas come back 3 yrs in a row so far. Zone 8a SC.
I noticed you're planting dahlia seedlings that are very tiny, I have some but I thought they had to be alot bigger before putting in beds, maybe I'll try planting some of the bigger ones cuz the weather here in far northern CA is finally cooperating. Hopefully my cats won't think it's their litter box.
Janey, Paul Robeson was an African American actor with a deep baritone. He sang Oll Man River on the 1950s movie -musical Showboat..,a true talent and a pioneer. I guess they named the tomato after him, because his voice was very rich and smoky…

Janey, I want to plant foxglove, it’s so pretty, but I’ve read it’s poisonous ! Don’t you worry about your puppy or kids around it? I was thinking the same thing.
So pretty. And you are not a mess! You should see me when I’m done gardening. It looks like I’ve rolled around in the dirt and run a marathon!!

Tie up your tomato plants on the trellis. They will do great! You can still have the beans on them too

Happy gardening Janey! I love the annual combination you chose. 💜💗💓
We cut Swiss chard and put in crystal vases, it makes a gorgeous arrangement with the colored stems and large leaves
We call those things from the Chinese Pistache tree “pollen bombs”. They would seriously cost everything in yellow at my last house.

Love all your videos! I was wondering what paint color is on your herb raised metal beds?
How often do you use slow release fertilizer?
Do you have to move those white pots to close the greenhouse doors?
Squirrel tunnels? I am in coastal NC and I am overrun with squirrels. But mine don’t build tunnels….thankfully.

hi Janie just a question. What is that wood dowel thingie you were using in the bed to make the holes?
It’s called a dibber.
I get so nervous when you plant out seedlings..you need to cover them all to protect from animals/birds….use netting or chicken wire 🌱
Paul Robeson is the best tomato on the planet
I'll have to try this one, never heard of it. Thank you for sharing this information. ❤❤

Do bunnies like chard?

Janey, why don’t you want grass in your yard. In fact in your front garden would look good for your house.? Jackie
Grass is not sustainable across the board, but particularly in her climate. It is better to introduce drought-resistant plants and dry gardens into our garden designs going forward, which are better placed to cope with our ever-changing global climate, rather than grass that consumes a ton of water and energy that we can ill-afford to waste. Plant to the changing conditions!
