Man, I played the heck out of Druid back in the day - loved it. Mastertronic's Storm is another you should check out (if not already) even if just for the title music
I have STORM on the next list it just missed this one. There are some really nice Pokey Tunes in many of of the budget games, especially on the title screen
It kind of is though, but yes, you mostly fly. The definition is a little more fluid here. It was included so people wouldn't say "where's hero" rather than "WTF is hero doing here?" "We spent so much time trying to figure out if we COULD, that were never asked if we SHOULD" =)
@@IntoTheVerticalBlank No it's NOT! Platformers are FLAT (dumb): linear action from left to right. In "platformers" there is no searching for things, no coming back, no way to get lost - because "platformers" are flat. HERO is Arcade Action with a bit of Adventure
The intro to the video clearly states that some of these are not just simple platformers. It's just a digestible YT title Will do just a video on platform adventures and break them into their own group.
I am loving this series of deep dives into the Atari 8-bit home computers. I have found quite a number of new games to try out and can't wait to dive into them. Much thanks for all the hard work and all your efforts.
Kowalski was the seaman on board the Seaview in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea who everything happened to. He was possessed, turned into a lobster-man, affected by the mysterious ray,… any time anything happened to anyone it was always Kowakshi.
Thanks for doing these videos. While my first love is the Atari 800, I stayed largely disconnected with it after I moved on to the ST line later in the 80s. I am only now trying to reconnect and I’m learning about a lot of games that I didn’t know about.
That last game by Shanti 77 freakin’ blows my mind!

Same here, so these investigation and videos are really fun to do and I love finding these amazing A8 treasures.
