I’m not sure if you know but he released 8 chapters on his second channel @RenMakesStuff on the week leading up to him releasing this song. He explained his entire story from when he got sick to when he started to get somewhat better. Gives a lot more context to everything he experienced during that time.
It’s a heavy watch, but it really tells you everything. Was extremely brave to put it out there for the world to see.

I get what you were saying about people claiming you are to happy about what Ren is describing, but it's not that you are celebrating his pain and suffering. It's about celebrating Ren's craft and wordsmithing within his music. His use of metaphors, his ability to stay laser accurate to the beat and the emotive performance, one cannot help but be impressed and happy when reacting to his tracks. It's a common theme among folks reacting to Ren's heavier tracks..."I know this is heavy and dark stuff, but I can't help but bounce and groove to it!"... Which is the whole point, Ren delivers his message in a palatable manner, whereas one can ingest the message and yet still enjoy the music. Great reaction, love the energy man.

If anyone gives you crap for enjoying yourself just remember that the man himself gave you a shout out in a live stream and said you reminded him of himself and his friends when they were younger. Easily one of the best compliments I've heard.

I was telling my mom about the chapters (not sure if you've watched them on RenMakesStuff) but she mentioned "why would you watch such a sad story" - the same reason you're happy at the end of this song - because the end is LITERALLY BEAUTIFUL! We're not happy he struggled so hard, but he's bringing awareness, compassion & letting other struggling know they aren't alone. I knew he came out stronger in the end, it's the only way I could listen to chapters 1-7 to be fair. They're hard to hear, but we're ALL happy he's on the upside of the hill. This song embodies HOPE.
