    I used to watch this program avidly, just prior to the full Internet.
    Those were Great times to live in, Napster was a dream.....🙂

    Sadly, phobos 2 was lost literally the day before this programme (I guess they just hadn't gone public with it yet), and neither the flyby or landers ever actually happened :(

      That's one thing the Russians always had issues with was there probes having radio or signal issues they lost a few thanks to that and Phobos 2 most likely crashed into the moon.

    21:37 this was the stuff they used on Time Team, and which made it much more digestible for viewers because you could see what they were talking about

      No, that was based on the Tomorrow's World of 1980-81 or so. This is the late 80s, by which time presentation was a lot smoother and blue-grey had replaced beige.
