I have just seen one outside my house and when I came close it fly to another sport far from me. What is the meaning of seeing this bird at night. same say is good luck and some say its death. Please advise
There is NO meaning at all. They are merely birds looking for mice and rats to eat at night. They do not bring bad luck. I have had them on my roof at night for years and no bad luck or death has ever occurred in my family. That is an old belief from long ago. We are now living in modern times and we know that old wive's tale is not true.
I live in Zambia and it’s 3am right now and I kept hearing the sound the spotted eagle-owl makes because so loud but I didn’t know it was an owl just had suspicions, so I googled it and it led me here. Finally I can rest at ease now that my question is answered😌. It’s a male one btw

We have a female Spotted Eagle-Owl and a Western Barn Owl close to our home. I speculate the two because I have only heard these two calls here.
We saw and heard 2 spotted eagle owls 6.30 this morning on a street light

Hi Lynnette... I have been hearing the male and female, but mostly the male visits my neighborhood every second week.. And unfortunately it has been bringing a lot of bad luck. I hear bad news every other day.... Unfortunately even though the neighborhood itself has many trees owls never really used to frequently visit. But lately.... Every 3to 4 days. I'm awake at this time because the sound woke me up.
2AM AND I JUST MATCHED THE SOUND OF A SPOTTED OWL., I WONDER WHAT WWOULD HAPPEN IF ID PLAY A MATES SOUND

Male Spotted eagle owl. It’s 00:18 and it’s making a lot of noise lol. Few months ago there was an owl on my roof, it made noise around this time (00:00). Four days later my neighbor died 🤦🏾♂️. I wonder what’s going to happen this time around. I even took time to search for a video explaining what type of owl is out there bc I ain’t checking it out.
An owl is just a bird. It cannot kill people. I know long ago people believed that but I have had owls on my roof for 28 years and none of us has died. It is just coincidence that your neighbour died. It was not sitting on his roof. Don't believe that. It is very old fashioned. People have owls on their roofs all the time and no one dies in their house. Don't be afraid. Be happy that the owl chose your roof. When you get to study these beautiful owls, you will not be afraid of them. You will grow to enjoy them. They are really cool birds.
We have many Spotted Eagle Owls around us here at our Lodge, I am looking for an owlet call? I keep hearing, I believe them that sounds like a child crying. Does anyone have any info on this topic??
Maybe try recording that call with your cellphone and I'll try and ID it.
