    Sean - glad to see you back working on Angus. Giving the garage a refresh will also have helped with motivation to keep things moving forward. Work on Annie was interesting, but the more substantial restoration you are doing to Angus is really helpful learnings for my restoration projects too. Looking forward to your next update!

      Thanks Rob, very much appreciated and yes the garage renovation has given me a massive boost albeit costing me a small fortune but it's well worth it as I now have somewhere warm and watertight to work in. The garage got that bad I had to stop working inside it and Angus as well as my tools were betting ruined with the water ingress so the only option was to down tools on that project and get the garage repaired which worked out pretty well as it gave me the opportunity to get Annie back on the road again while the garage was under repair!
      Much more content to come so I hope you stick around for that. All the best, Sean

    Good to see a mini that was originally put together less than a mile from my house being 'put back together ' for the second time. The factory site at Longbridge has been transformed in recent years. There are still remnants of the old East Works still visible ( engine assembly)👍

      Thank you EF, The last time I passed the car plant at Longbridge was in 2005 for the 100 years of Austin. We were supposed to get a factory tour but sadly Rover went tits up. I did however manage to get some photos with my Longbridge built 1960 Austin Cambridge outside the gates!

    Hi Sean, Another great video. I have just binge watched the whole thing through the highs and lows. It’s good of you to show the mistakes as well, we all make them. It makes a big difference when someone else is there to help when the mojo is low. I work on my own and folk will think i am mad when i start shouting and swearing when it’s only me in the garage. Good luck with the rest of the restoration and thanks for the time and effort making these videos. Stay safe, Norman

      Thanks Norman, I've re edited the entire first series and you'll soon be able to view the re edited series in the coffee club.
      There was lots of lows at the start of the project mostly due to personal circumstances but with the help of good friends I came out the other side and everything changed and life got do much better in every way!
      Thanks for watching and enjoying my videos. All the best, Sean

    Hi Sean, great to see Angus back on the screen! The garage revamp will help with getting on with the job. I seen in previous videos you were annoyed at the leaky roof,doesnt do much for morale. Keep the videos rolling 👍😉😉

    • @BMCWorkshop

      Thanks Rick, it feels good to be working on Angus again this time in a warm dry garage. Before the garage renovation it was getting near impossible to work in due to the roof leaking like a sieve and flooding the place out. It was that bad I had a waterfall feature on the wall! All watertight and rewired now thanks to Kev the Rev

      Thanks Alan, the garage got so bad so quickly and it became a horrible place to be in and thanks to my mate Kev he fitted the new roof and electrics and suddenly the garage became a nice place to be in again. Now all I want to do is crack on with Angus then once he's done I can turn my attention back to Annie and tidy up the bodywork on her. Hope you enjoy the new videos. All the best, Sean

    Sean, Lot of work wire wheeling the bulkhead but well worth doing. That Vactan looks like good stuff a bit like the Brunox i use it goes purple when
    it‘s in capuslating any micro rust spots. What a difference now the primer is on. Good shout with building the front first. Cheers Dave

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Dave, the idea with doing the front is to give the car a face again as that will keep me motivated seeing what looks more like a mini every time I go into the garage.

    Great Video Sean ,good to see you using the Vactan ,I`ve got a litre of it waiting for me to get to that stage ,looks as if it`s good stuff ,you could see it reacting as fast as you were applying it

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Peter, yes indeed, this stuff looks like it's gonna do the trick. It started turning purple more or less straight away as it was eating its way into the panel then quickly turned black so fingers crossed it does the trick. I've heard lots of good things about this product so thought I'd take a punt

    Good work, why 2 years ?

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of reasons Chris. The garage needed a lot of work done to it so 2020 seen a full renovation of the garage , new roof, complete rewire and fully painted inside and out. Annie the mini thirty also received a light restoration and before I knew it 2020 was gone.
      This year there will be 2 restoration running alongside each other on the channel, Angus and Rusty the 1961 Morris mini.
      Best wishes, Sean

    Great to see Angus back on your channel 👍 What your thoughts on the the Vactan ? I have never found a true rust killer

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the first time I've used Vactan and my initial impressions is it seems to work, or at least do something. I previously used Jenolite but that just turned white and left a powdery residue on the panels so I binned it. Fingers crossed this stuff works. I've heard lots of good reviews on the stuff hence why I've tried it. Only time will tell I guess...

  • @normanraeburn8047

    Great video, looking forward to the next one. I have some vactan somewhere i was given. I have been using Bilt Hamber hydrate 80 which i find works well. If you don’t mind me asking, where does the names for the cars car from? All the best, Norman

    • @BMCWorkshop
      @BMCWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Norman, Bilt Hamber is an excellent product too. I've used that in the past.
      With regards to the names of the cars, Angus got his name from the Aberdeen Angus cow. Don't ask me how or why but that's the name I chose for him. He was originally a she with the previous owner and was called "Betsy" which I didn't like. Annie (my mini thirty) is a special car. She's the car who found me as I wasn't looking for another mini when she turned up. The story behind Annie is she was a one owner car when I got her. The original owner was a lovely tour guide at my work who was called "Annie" and she had the car from new. When I purchased the car I asked Annie if the car had a name (as you do lol) and Annie said that she never had a name so I decided to call the car "Annie" in memory of the previous owner to which she was thrilled about!
      Next weeks video will be on Kev's 1961 Mk1 mini and will be available in the coffee page shortly for you to preview.
      All the best, Sean
