Looking good Keith the bumpers come up a treat and well worth the effort to refurbish the original rather than replace it. It’s all coming together nicely as someone else has pointed out your welding skills may be tested with Marks “Cooper colander “ which only goes to show what can be lurking under an apparently good looking car! Like the Tardis it will get the TLC is needs over the next few months. Take Care Stay Safe Everyone Regards Dave 👍😎🏴
Lovely job Keith, great to repair the original parts. Was thinking about what to respray the bumpers on my 83 Mayfair, will follow your idea of Hammerite satin.
I'll be interested to know how the Satin black comes out when polished/cleaned when you detail the car. Always refrain from using Hammerite externally before.
Hi Keith, I need to rub down and repaint my Satin Black bumpers, any top tips before I begin? Currently they have lots of little chips and scratches. Love your work!
Saving bumpers?? saving rubber "O" rings?? I'm rubbing off on you arn't i lol. Well i've spent 7 hours fitting the wings and front panel to my 62 mini. The spot welder is so heavy, my arms are creamed
I know this is 2 years old now, but curious why you are still using Hammerite paint. It really is a crap paint. Use POR15 if you want a good rust paint, but really there are a ton of other better paints these days. Hammerite is not one of them anymore.
POR15 doesn't come in a spray can does it? I'm not particularly a fan of Hammerite but it does the job. If I was going for ultimate rusty protection then yes, I'm sure there are better paints available

It's looking like new. Fantastic work. I wish I had the same motivation. Keep up the good work.
Top job Keith 👍
Hiya Keith-Tardis is looking amazing-the shiny SU carb will just finish it off when fitted, Keep well.

Like your OCD approach to all jobs 😉👍

You are doing a great job refurbing the original parts mate
Plastic trim tool for the indicator rubbers!
I started with trim tools but the rubber was too stiff. I should have just got new rubbers
First weld problems 😅
Very good! I like what you done there LOL

Your soon get the hang of welding again once your able to help Mark with his Mk3 Cooper project
Very true LOL
@@classicminiworkshop Just try not to start any fires this time 🤣 🔥🧯
I was wondering Keith, if heating the rubber seals on the indicator lights would have made it any easier to install the chrome rings?
Yes mate, that would have probably helped

Satin black hides many imperfections so a decent rub down to key the surface should be just fine
1st, just before tea lol

Nice work! I know what you mean about spot welders, trying to get them into hard to reach places and the weight can be difficult/hard work
