Fuel pump access door. How to install this 8"x8" door under the back seat of the gen5 Camaro. This will save your butt. Purchased from JEGS: www.jegs.com/i...
I love the content. Definitely going to use this video when I install my fuel pumps. Keep the videos coming man very informational we all need it!! Good job brother
Great content and thanks for the idea I was skeptical about doing this but it beats having to deal with removing more then you have too plus like you said if you have to do it again
Have you had to remove the pump bucket since you put the access door on? i installed my door for my upcoming fore install, i was curious if the bucket clears the tab that sticks inward on the door where the latch goes?
What wires did you tap for your fuel level sensor ? Do any of your videos cover that portion ? The instructions said the wires are not polarity sensitive
Question and a comment- You can easily control drill bit depth by slipping hose over the bit, leaving however much you want exposed. What fuel system parts are you using?
I know you are usually very detailed and particular about your Camaro and correct me if I missed it but did you forget to treat the metal with a rust inhibitor before installing the door? I mean it's probably still possible to do with the door open but would have been a lot easier to do a thorough coating beforehand. Otherwise it's an awesome step by step instructional!
I guess I was having an off day and didn't think about it. Yes, some paint or other rust inhibitor wouldve been a good idea along the edge that I cut with the shear. Even though the car doesn't see rain, the moisture in the air will eventually rust the edge. Next time I'm in there, I'll give it a look. I can still get to the edge easily enough. Thanks Dave for the heads up.
I just did this mod as well and installed a fore dual fuel pump, great tutorial by the way.
Not my best work but thank you Marcus. I hope you enjoy the videos.
@@fasnuf no problem...👍
Nice job.....They should do this to all cars...They used to
Great to hear from you Pete. Thanks and yes, but they figure cars to be disposable now.
I'm about to do the same with my camaro. This was super helpful thank you!!!
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching
This will deffinatly come in handy when i upgrade my fuel system for my stroker build

Thank you my friend! I've got tons of footage I need to process through so many more to come. I hope all is going well with the new engine!
Weren't you too scared to do this ?
Would have saved a sh*t ton of labor costs and time!
Perfect timing this is how I wanted to do mine
Much better than dropping the tank, thats for sure. Thanks for watching.
I used electric shears on my 75 Malibu resto. to replace sending unit.

I’ve been in there 3 times and there will be a 4th because I’ll be going bigger pumps. It’s worth it but be careful

I've removed it 3 times since the install. It's a tight fit but easily manageable. Thanks for watching

great informative video, i'm getting ready to do this to my 4runner but i will use black butyl rv tape instead
That will make a more permanent seal for sure Ray. Good Luck
i used a 12v powered mini grinder cut wheel
alll that lovely sparks around my fuel line for my 2001 astro van lol
Some one done cut mine and did a rough job so im gonna have to lay wet towels down inside and dremel the edges some to take off all the sharp place's
Good stuff my friend, that's the next mod I do.
It's come in handy several times when I was havingg pump issues. I'm still glad I did it.
Thanks was very helpful. You did good for what you had to work with. Keep them coming
Thanks Mike. Have a great day.
Do you have an email I can get in contact with you?
I'm upgrading my 98 ss to quantum lifetime warranty pump
Can you show us how to remove the seat?
see if this video helps. It's in here. th-cam.com/video/PgeWAhuN2zM/w-d-xo.html
What kind of shear did you use to do the cutting?
Did you watch the video? 0:55
Good job man 💥🛠
Thanks ✌
What is the distance from the lowest part of the fuel pump hat to the metal above it? Is there at least 2 inches clearance? Tks...
I never measured that but it'll be close to 2" from the bottom of the hat to the top of the fuel door.
Where did you find the fuel door???
It's in the description.
@fasnuf where you purchased the trap door is listed in the description?????
instead of drilling, you couldve just easily used JB weld or something similiar, cutting that hole is risky enough, no way id try drilling
