I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!
Man, that tip about angling them in opposite "v" patterns was one I had not seen before, brilliant!! I had always thought they dart to the side based on the way the tips are beveled, but your anatomy lesson about the flex of both directions makes a lot of sense. Glasses and a drop of oil are how I start all air nailer projects. Thanks for putting this together and glad you didn't get seriously injured!

Dude, do more tip videos. Really liked how you explained the nail anatomy instead of just saying "shoot this way." Also, brilliant point on using opposing geometry to get better holds, and love your overhead storage. I've stored mine overheard for a while in a much less elegant solution that wasn't plugged in. Yours is way better, but yeah.. it's super handy.

Seeing your angled nailing reminded me I was taught this trick at school sixty years ago - it was called *dovetail nailing*. In all the years I've been watching YT vlogs I've never seen anybody else adopt this practice, so thanks for reintroducing it.
I have been using a nail gun for years, to say this video was one of the best informitive practical vidios I have ever seen would be an understatement... Your channel has now become my favourite must see channel, always, very informative, instructions easy to follow. You have a natural talent for this too. Keep up the good work. Great tip on the brad nail gun orientation! I had several blowouts of brad nails flexing in the wood and coming out the side of a piece, until I figured that one out! Always orient the gun perpendicular to the piece of wood that could suffer a blowout. The nails are connected in the strip side-by-side on their narrow side (if they were stacked flat, connected on their wide side, that would be more plastic-connected surface area for the gun to have to break when it hammers the nail in). So the nails stacked side-by-side in the magazine like that, causes the nail to flex out the left or right side of the gun, not toward the top or bottom of the gun, and thus orienting the gun perpendicular to the wood means any nail flex would still leave the nail fully embedded in the wood. SO key to understand that, as a brad nail blowout is very difficult to pull out. You can't grab it and pull it through, since the head resists going through the smaller hole the nail body created. And the nail itself is too flimsy to grab with pliers and push out backwards, at least very easily, plus the plastic coating that held the strip of nails together heats up from friction during the driving, and cools like a glue. VERY key tip there, and thanks for getting the word out!
My construction professor always has a lesson about safety. Treat it like a gun, because it is one. He also taught us that once you disconnect the line to try to fire it into a piece of scrap just to make sure that it would not fire (if there was leftover air in the gun).

Those are all great tips and especially how to drive the brad nail into the wood. Your accident was more of a saw table accident and they tell us that saw table accidents are to be avoided at all costs and can be very dangerous and possibly deadly. Hey Chris. First time viewer for your channel and now a new subscriber. Wanted to quickly share a saw related near miss injury. Coworker was using a POS company owned miter saw which was missing parts including any safety features. Not quite sure what he was cutting however he managed hit something metal and one of the carbide saw teeth broke off and hit the brim of my brand-new ballcap I was wearing. It hit with such force it almost knocked my hat off as it lodged into the brim. I am one of those who always wears safety glasses on the job site. BTW, after that near miss, I cut the power cord off the saw and pitched the saw in the dumpster.

The kind of point on most Brad nails is called a chisel point. The nail will bend parallel to that chisel. If you want your nails to bend less try taking the sharp point off the tip. This tip also works well when nailing into very hardwoods. Old carpenters would take a nail and rub it on concrete before using . So check the angle of the bevel on the tip it will point to the direction it will blow out.
It's much easily to glean info and tips from your videos than some others on youtube, LOL. Your mix of great tips, solid info and your humor make the videos fun to watch and educational as well. Keep it going big guy!

Never mind dodging a bullet, more like dodging a nail ouch, some great tips there the only one i didn't know was the slight angle nail now that was a great tip. I haven't used my Compressor for a while now since i bought the Ryobi battery nail gun, a brilliant piece of kit i love it, plus i have loads of Ryobi drills and stuff so i have the batteries for it, anyway once again Chris a great video, take care mate. I haven't used my Compressor for a while now since i bought the Ryobi battery nail gun, a brilliant piece of kit i love it, plus i have loads of Ryobi drills and stuff so i have the batteries for it, anyway once again Chris a great video, take care mate.

Thanks as always Barry. I’ve contemplated upgrading my Nailers to those battery powered ones. I bet they’re super convenient. Probably going to do that in about a year. As always great to hear from you brother
