    Awesome video and I like the schematics you had drawn. I'm a former avionics tech and just want to say good job covering all the details.

    I put 252,000 miles on this van driving for fedex I had a transmission flush at 200k and oil changes every 5,000 , pretty solid build , but just recently I'm having this issue , but I wanted to explain the dummy intake on the hood it was a stupid design on rainy days water will comes from the vents flood your spark plug wires

    This was right on time cuz I am definitely going to be looking house the distance from my AC unit and work on it myself now that I've gotten a full explanation behind it

    Nice! My shit musta been iced over... Turned the AC off but had fan on high... 10 minutes later heard some noise like ice breaking up and traveling thru the ductwork and the flow instantly increased to normal... Turned AC back on and AHHHHHHH... Nice and chilly again... Sweet

      Mine today did the same thing here in Texas. It was frozen up and it sounded like my ice maker on my refrigerator when it defrosted.

    Very informative. Thank you. My 2015 350 HD passenger van has had no servicing since I bought it, the ac is working but I would like to know what the temp should be at the vents in front and rear to see if It requires any Freon. It’s about 50 in front and 60 degrees F. In back now. Thanks for any help.

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About 50F is all I get when ambient temp is on high 80s.

    I drive a 2017 Ford Transit 250 (3.7 gasoline) . AC worked all summer but recently i noticed that air con is not blowing cold air and the radiator fans are not spinning. I checked all the fuses and relay (manually checked with 12v current and did the click test on all of them) and none of them have blown. Then i jumped the fan and ac clutch fuses/relays with a paper clip, when jumping ac clutch it spins & engages. Also fans started spinning when i manually jump the relays for fans. I am now lost as to what check next, as none of the hvac related parts are seems to be broken. I also checked with ODB2 diagnostic tool and in there i see zero values for ac pressure & fan sensor. Should i put Freon gas refrigerant in it?

    Great description, thanks you very much :)
    Any tips for what to check when AC is working fine and cold air is coming 16:26 on passenger side and in the rear but not in the front and at the driver’s seat (just air)?
    It’s a 2017 Ford Transit “Tourneo”.

    Were you ever able to resolve this issue, or confirm that your fixes worked? If so, would love to see an update. Thanks.

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it ended up being low refrigerant pressure. I have not had a chance to troubleshoot the leak, which I assume it has.

    Do you know where is the evaporator drain is located on a For Tran 2011? I have water in my foot pan

      Try center of firewall above transmission. May be able to access from the top of the engine. Helps if it’s leaking condensate to locate.

    The AC in my 2018 Ford F250 Transit just goes on and off. It was dead for days, I filled the gas tank and then it worked. Thought maybe it shut down to conserve gas but the next time I went to use it I got nothing. The AC button and air recycling button are both out when the AC doesn’t work. I use this van for my business in Florida and I need AC but don’t have the funds yet to spend too much fixing it. I replaced a 10a fuse but that didn’t help. Any ideas?

    I’ve got a 2018 250. Air works pretty good upon start up but after an hour or so, air slows to a trickle out the vents. Replaced the blower motor. But nothings changed. Any ideas?

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Does it exhibit the same behavior with heat or vent fan with no a/c?

    • @philipsayre7668
      @philipsayre7668 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MTBPlanB I honestly haven’t tried heat yet. But I may have commented too soon in the video. After watching to the end, I think it may be the evaporator? The AC does make a louder hum from the engine bay when it’s on too. Like the fan but louder than normal

    Do you think one can change the evap temp sensor on these without pulling the dash?

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not really. That sensor is also part of the climate control housing. The recommended procedure is to swap over everything to new climate control housing.

      On my 2019, There is an access panel directly under the glove box. Remove those screws to access and remove the blower motor.

    Would you know where the evaporator drainage is located?

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try looking near the center of the firewall above the transmission. You may be able to spot it standing over the engine looking down. If not, turn on The AC and follow the source of the water leaking.

    My question, my 2017 ac isn’t blowing hard enough to feel cold air up front and in the rear. I’ve had to open up the rear blower and clean off the coils to allow more air flow. My best guess is that the front coil is dirty enough as well to limit the amount of air flow but I can not find the coil up front to clean it. Do you know where it is?

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The evaporator coil is under passengers dash glove box (drop the glove box) and contained within a plastic housing. Its important to run a filter in the unit. You may be able to maneuver something in the filter slot to clean the coil.

    If my blend door actuators are working , and have hot are on driver side and cold on passenger, does this narrow it down to a broken blend door internally

    • @MTBPlanB
      @MTBPlanB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps if you have dual zone a/c which has a blend door on driver and passenger side. If you don’t have dual zone a/c, then it could also be low refrigerant or a separated air passage (I.e. duct has pulled away from vent, etc.).

    i was disappointed by this video. i came here looking for particular information and solutions to a problem with a ford transit ac system and instead received a long winded tutorial on things common to almost any automotive ac system and worst of all no conclusive diagnosis of the problem, just speculation. i literally fell asleep two or three times during this video. im glad that some people appreciated this. i did not.
