This is just my two cents but without smaller units there is almost 0 way to win a game there's just not enough units to take objectives and kill. What's even better is they gain sticky objectives. Also the strats will win you every game without even having cultists. So you can also just take no cultists and just take the strats
You can shoot into combat that cultists are engaged in for a CP and risk killing your own models.... or you can just fall back with the cultist unit for free.... I'm confused.
So they expect me to pay hundreds of dollars worth of a faction i'm not interested in just to make one detachment viable. They are going in the wrong direction. My main army is chaosknights, i have no interest in this at all. Yeah on paper this detachment is ok. But is it's worth spending hundreds of dollars on? The answer is no, i speak for most Chaosknight players, if they don't change our rules in the codex we're dead. They have no idea what they're doing with his army.
They're going to try to make you spend more/new money all the time. I dislike this and wish they could make the 'core' units work instead but this is the reality. From an aesthetic point of view however, this makes a lot of sense. You'd have a rabble of techs (forgot the lore name for these guys) with you on campaign as well as your 'household guard' type guys (when you're a bloodthirsty and warp-infused tyrant of an iconoclast house you don't sleep easy unless you never leave your cockpit).
Come on guys let's be honest the detachment is trash and we all know it. The knights are going to out pace the chaf in a turn and then they are not going to be able to access the bonuses. This is not going to be competitive.
Losing two very important strat in the chaos knights list, Knights of Shade and Rotate shields for a bunch of cultist. Nah. It flavorful but not as competitive as the index.
I am a knight player and this detachment is just a rip off of CSM that forces knight players to buy 100 cultist models to even play it… this was geared for the CSM players and it is a pitiful.
The single most common complaint Knights players have mentioned is the lack of small model units they can bring alongside of their titans. This detachment answers that problem. Maybe its not what you were hoping for, but this complaint is just dumb.
@@Paradoxed25 as part of your army not allied in, besides that Karnivores wont benefit since they outrun their small dudes, then again they wont go through walls
Fun fact, the dark sacrifice rule doesnt specify 'friendly' damned units.

Unrestrained rage also lets you advance and shoot and charge. honestly one of the best parts of the detachment imo

100 cultists, 6 karnivores, 3 brigands, 1 stalker + the scout relic

CK have 2 very good strats, UNRESTRAINED RAGE fall back shoot, charge. advance and charge.
SOUL HUNGER D3 wounds back or D3+2 if battle shocked.
