We, the older generation watched Amy grow in the White House and to see the genuine love between Father and Daughter was needed in the 70s. President Carter foused on people who really needed help, the help that World Leaders didn't provide to their citizens. Medicines, clean drinking water, etc. Where would Habitat for Humanity be without Jimmy Carter? Thank you President Carter for your humanity and for bringing Egypt and Israel to working together. Absolutely a true noble statesman. We were lucky to have him and his wife Roselynn serve our country. There may not be any world leaders that met with him are still alive but we know, he’s been serving us helping build houses for the homeless. The man can now rest his shift is over the job is done, well done Mr. President well done.
The incoming president could take a page or two out of Carter’s book, that’s for sure. However, let’s not dwell on that. Jimmy Carter was one of our finest leaders and he was a great president. Many people today will echo others who have stated that Jimmy Carter was not a good president but that's because they didn't know him. I cannot claim to have known him but I do know that he was so honorable he would not and could not follow those who engaged in behaviors abhorrent to him. NO other person or president could have brought Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat together as he did. His humanity was first and foremost. He cared for all people. Many will blame him for the failure of the hostage situation in Iran. A complex issue further compounded by the collapse of the Shah's government and the return to power of Ayatollah Khomeini. Carter was the epitome of humanitarian and public servant. Glad that a decent man passed away under another descent man. He will see to it that President Carter is laid to rest respectfully and properly and he won't make it about himself.
It's no wonder he lived to be 100 years old, and Rosalynn lived to be 96. He was a man who genuinely loved his country, and throughout his life, he kept working...and working...and working. Jimmy Carter was one of our finest leaders and he was a great president. Many people today will echo others who have stated that Jimmy Carter was not a good president but that's because they didn't know him. I cannot claim to have known him but I do know that he was so honorable he would not and could not follow those who engaged in behaviors abhorrent to him. NO other person or president could have brought Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat together as he did. His humanity was first and foremost. He cared for all people. Many will blame him for the failure of the hostage situation in Iran. A complex issue further compounded by the collapse of the Shah's government and the return to power of Ayatollah Khomeini. He was a fine man.

It's no wonder he lived to be 100 years old, and Rosalynn lived to be 96. He was a man who genuinely loved his country, and throughout his life, he kept working...and working...and working. All around the world, he created a lasting legacy that will be unrivaled. He was certainly the most decent man that took office. As long as you care for others, and as long as you keep working, I feel that that's the key to living a long and healthy life, just like Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter did. May they both have a beautiful reunion in Heaven, and this was just a beautiful speech. ❤️
