Google has too much power and influence over the little guys, which is wrong. It is sad that they have shifted away from supporting the people that helped them get their start and dominance in the search engine world. If they behave this way, cheer for some other engine to dethrone them... their loyalty to big brands over bloggers should embarrass them. Instead they do not care.

If you're just going to rely on google seo traffic, then yes I think blogging is *almost* done. Having said that, what I think people will need to do with their blog is create more than one stream of traffic like YT, pinterest, tiktok, build email list etc.

Why would Google care about experience, expertise and authority? All the site owners out there with real first hand experience and expertise still got eviscerated. So what's the point of doing all this stuff that you're suggesting if Google is just gonna rank the media sites, Reddit, Quora etc at the top anyway?

Buying ads yes but still it hits small businesses as they cannot easily compete with the paid ad competition of competitive search terms. Good luck everyone.
seriously needed this video. Ive been at it for 6 months and its just not what I enjoy. I would rather sell a product or service my current skills. I love writing but not in the context of a blog.
For sure, treat the blog as a resource for SEO and lead generation for your business rather than the main income stream in this case 👍

Because of my blog and TH-cam channels which don't get a lot of traffic I am able to make a pretty good living from my many hobbies. I don't spend a lot of time creating content when I can make $6000 in a few hours doing things that I love to do.

Yup, this is what I got practically from blogging. Rather relying on blogging as a main source of income has now become archaic, so am on the same page as you said!
Thanks Alex for your perspective on the future of blogging. Agree, 2024 will not be like 2007, which it has not been since then to present. It's no secret that the BIG G's revenue is driven by Advertising pure and simple. However although Blogging and the dependence on google to build and sustain ones business should not be solely held in the hands of google, blogs can be the basic foundation of the business to build a customer base in the Niche instead of SERP ranking which is truly dead! AI is actually an interesting mix that might have some interesting surprises in 2024 that in my opinion will help the small guy!
Yes I think it’s still pretty good for local businesses to use blogs 👍 but trying to have a blog without some associated business won’t be very rewarding
