Hey guys, I definitely didn't expect to get to episode 3 so soon but if you haven't checked out the other 2 episodes, basically, Spotlight is a series where I'm not diving as deep into an MV as I usually do in order to get some extra music out of the group I'm reacting to, I'm still trying to understand the videos I'm watching but I'm trying not to obsess over every detail, that way I can react to more music by a group :) Hope you guys enjoy this one, BTOB has very quickly become a favorite of mine, thank you for your patience if you've been waiting for us to get back to them! Gonna Rave for my Ults: BTOB are such great artists and idols in the K-pop industry. I still wonder how the f*** Cube was able to get these boys but they are so awesome and the vocals are beautiful.
BTOB is part of a promotion of BG who loved to make their MV's mini movies the story telling in kpop really started with groups like BTOB, B.A.P, VIXX, INFINITE back in a day's many groups mv's exceeded 5 minutes. it's my favorite generation.
I'd only listened to missing you and outsider after watching them on kingdom I went through all their songs but hadn't see some of their videos yet so getting your reaction and thoughts on those two was so great because there some of my favorite by them.

Changsub is a magnificent bastard indeed, strongly agree with you :D he's always the funniest one with his expressions and I like his vocal tone the most. I like this concept of Spotlight, I think you were still able to do a well, detailed interpretation of the songs and videos. BTOB has always incorporated various films in their music videos and a lot are filmed cinematically. I love their appreciation for and understanding of cinema. You've got most of the references in MOVIE right, and there are more subtle ones like Risky Business, Lady and the Tramp, etc. For Outsider, every member represents a main movie with "outsider" characters and situations: Eunkwang - Warm Bodies, Minhyuk - Sin City, Changsub - Wolf of Wall Street and Great Gatsby, Peniel - Casino Royale. They did the same for the MV for Show Your Love, with each member representing a certain movie about the different forms of love. I hope you get to feature BTOB again for Spotlight, this was really fun. :)

I believe no one really knows exactly what every scene or detail means but I guess it's how we interpret and understand things in a way. WOW is really good, old song but sounds fresh & really has that MJ vibes. MOVIE is unique & has that great vibe. .written/composed & produced by Ilhoon. Referencing a lot of movies like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Suicide Squad, Grease, 8 Mile, Mr. & Mrs. Smith/007, Lady & the Tramp, etc.. really creative and every live stage of this song has a different concept. Try checking them out. Now MISSING YOU is really something..not your ordinary ballad..written & composed by Hyunsik. The music is so good, the vocals, the visuals..especially the way they portrayed their feelings in the mv is so realistic and sincere. They stayed true to their motto which is "We don't sell albums, we sell emotions." BTOB is so good at portraying characters, expressing emotions and acting them out. They just showed how different people have different ways of coping up with loss and sadness..that no matter where you are, what place or race..we all feel grief and pain and we're all walking that lonely desert/path trying to live and go on..That is BTOB's trademark..their songs, whether upbeat or slow, just leaves certain feelings to the listeners. And every time they make a music video, they make it a point to put a story or message in it and when they sing or perform it, they pour their hearts into the song. They love making songs that may sound simple but are very deep..may be cool but have a message to it and their subject is something that anyone/everyone can relate to. Missing You is the queen of their songs..giving them 7 music show awards & staying on top of the charts for a long time. It's released a few years ago but it still amazes listeners to this day. OUTSIDER was released 2 years ago right after joining Kingdom when the others were still in the military. It has a neo funk vibe..unique & catchy & also speaks of a situation that anyone can relate to. These are just a few of their songs and they have A LOT but I can almost say that ALL their songs are that good..so good that you won't be able to decide which one you like best. Outsider is still my favourite :) Okay, they're only four on it, and even when they perform it as a full group on stage, Ilhoon's missing now (and it's sad 'cause he would've slap on this song, let's be honnest), but still, the four voices here are very nicely used, I like every part of the song. Ghangsub starting it is a plus to me, I love him (not the only one if I got you right xD). And like you, I loooove the lyrics. It makes me scream : "YEEESSSSS LET'S JUST ALL BE OUTSIDERS !!"

If you want to feel being struck by pain, you should watch Beautiful Pain (MV) and Someday (2018 concert). In contrast, if you like to hear some fun song: Only One For Me (MV), Show Your Love (MV), Dreamer (no MV). Up beat songs: Insane (MV), Irressitable Lips (MV). Missing You- to me it feels as the the loss of a loved one, “While I’ve been missing you, 6 years have passed”, I’m still weeping 😢. The reference to the desert I feel is even with each other walking together, they still have to fight through the grief separately.
