Hearing this song during the last lap of an Elite Race pumps you up to push harder and take the win, all the while Raptor, Vixen and Live Wire are breathing down your neck with their insane cars and at the same time you're triggering an insane Route Change!
I have to say, the soundtrack for Split/Second really suits the mood of a television show. Especially the last minute or so always made me feel like it could well be the intro a real life show.
This game is Michael Bay's wet dream. This game is so damm good. I played it on the PSP when I was a kid and still do today. Game is phenomenal with a bunch of cool cars to collect and infinite replayability. The soundtrack is super good as well (especially the Elite Race theme. exceptional banger of a song). Shame that Disney gave up a literal gold mine of a game. They did so good with the first but decided to ditch the sequel. Still though, AMAZING game. I would recommend it to people who are currently playing Forza and other racing games as a possible nostalgia trip.
The PSP version was toned down but thankfully was still a good port for the handheld market. And the best part about the PSP is the fact that they made a full Docks mashup that the original didn't have

I love you, Black Rock Studios. You made the greatest racing game ever. The skill and strategy required is matched by almost none, while the over the top explosions never fail to give me a thrill, even after 5 years of playing. The incredible depth made for each track and each car, the little details on every curb, and the skills required to master just one car are more than enough for anyone. This, and many other reasons, are why this game will always have a special place in my heart. I hate you, Disney. You took the game of such incredible skill and fun and killed it, along with the company that put its heart and soul into it. Because of your love of money and inability to see the unfortunate timing (released right when Blur was), this game series is now dead. The finished story the game deserved won't happen unless we find Nick Baynes. It'll only be a matter of time before the servers die and the game will have its last breath. Even after this day, I'll never forget Split/Second. Maybe one day a Split/Second player will win the lottery or become super rich, and the sequel we all deserved shall come.....

Rusty, you mention the servers might shut down, but 2 years later (at least on Xbox) the servers are still very much alive. I don't think the servers are still operational on PC though.

This game truly was something special. A unique idea, exhilarating gameplay, fantastic aesthetic. It’s a game I still haven’t found a replacement for. How I wish we could’ve gotten a sequel. Back when this game came out in 2010, I and 7 other friends would play it daily at a game lounge. There we were, 8 14-year-old kids, none but me wearing headphones. I'd get such a pump from this particular soundtrack that I won every single time. Such good times.
