I built a cool DIY headphone that sounds terrible! See how it turned out!

- We had a broken tablet, that I could not repair, so decided to reuse as many parts for new projects as possible.
You could see in earlier videos, that I really like headphones, so came the idea to build my own headphone.
First I wanted to build it from Lego, this was dropped after some experimenting, so I returned the usual scrap material approach.
I have had tons of experiments and many failures throughout the build process, but I eventually I was quite satisfied with the results.
At least with the comfort and aesthetics, not so much with the audio quality.
The JBL drivers I salvaged are very hard to drive, even for my Fiio E10K or Audioquest Dragonfly Black it was a big challenge. The low frequencies are non existent, the highs are pretty intrusive. I could make it enjoyable with some playing with the equalizer, but definitely not the thing I expected, so I already started planning 2nd edition with proper headphone drivers (broken ones are fairly cheap on ebay or local online market places), frame could be even better with adjustment options.
I did not pay too much attention to the details in parts that will not be visible, in the next round I'd definitely be more delicate on those as well.
Long story short, it is completely feasible to build a good quality headphone for the fraction of the price of new ones. I'm not saying for the first shot you will build high-end headphones, but it is a fun project for sure, especially if you can enhance your design iteratively.
