I use to catfish the Abbots Creek boat ramp near the coastguard auxiliary building using freshwater snails, the catfish love them

Now the fishing stinks and there are snails everywhere. I have seen a lot of dead snails and bottom fish dead, Carp and Cats and even some Bass.

Do the catfish use the river as spawning areas and then make their way to the lake after the spawn?

Do they publish when the dam release water?

You do know that anyone fishing over there on that bank where you threw your bait, would be trying to throw his bait where you parked your boat...if you weren't there. It seems that the fish are always wayyyyyyyy over yonder, never right below your feet! I fish a creek that's about 50 feet wide and fishermen will fish from both banks. And invariably each of them is casting to the other side...instead of just walking over there across the bridge and dropping their hook straight down! It's hilarious!
