At the beginning David is the only one who seems to notice something is off with Hook... Haha He looks really concerned, it is almost as if he knows something bad is gonna happen. Just the way he watches him walk into Granny's, his face shows that he can tell something isn't right...
Just goes to show how powerful Rumplestiltskin was. How much willpower he had and how big his ego was as well as how selfish he was. All of that and his ultimate goal of finding his son seems to have allowed him to use the powers of the dark ones for his own goals rather than be just another puppet for Nimue, seeing how little he did in attempting to snuff out the light or do anything to Merlin. He lasted all those years doing as he pleased and keeping the power for himself with full control over it yet when Emma or Hook became dark ones they lost control and essentially became a puppet for Nimue. Emma less so than hook considering she only had that one incident where she was being forced to kill Merlin (the scene about "I'm not nothing, I was never nothing") and then it is up to debate whether it was Nimue that pushed her to pick up Excalibur when she had just remembered when Merlin told her not to (but hey maybe it wasn't Nimue that did that, maybe Emma chose to pick it up).
How could they even crush his heart, it was so pure it literally glowed, also wasn't he immortal and a seer. His visions were so powerful that he basically guided destiny's from a tree...but he didnt' see this coming?
There's also a plot hole. When Cora tried to take Emma's heart, light magic protected her and it didn't allow it. So Merlin, the first and oldest light magician, who received his powers from Graal itself, can't have his magic protecting him against such a basic dark spell...
The problem is his vision is bits and pieces like the seer rumple met. The future branches off in many directions. He saw a good and bad future for Emma.
John Gillespie You know, I've been wondering the exact same thing for the past 2 years, but I think Merlin, as much as I loved him, was a hopeless romantic who thought the love of his life could still "choose the right path". Because when it comes to her, he looses all common sense... But that's just my opinion, so I might be (and, I probably am) totally wrong
Victoria Bay You know, your probably right, I also think that Merlin tossing out Nimue's name was a clue as to who she was and how she could be used in destroying the Darkness. Again, that's just me.
I still stew on this one as well (and now we are about to see the series' ending). Nimue was never the answer to destroying the darkness. She WAS the darkness. I like Victoria's idea hat maybe Merlin was a romantic, but I am afraid it was another case of the writers just trying to fake the audience out. It really made little sense. I want to rewrite the scene so that Merlin survives.
Wait, the Holy Grail, gave him his power, and knowledge right ? I know that when Emma tethered Killian to Excalibur, Merlin lost his powers, because he had been tied to the sword before (Still doesn't make any sense to me). How can someone like Merlin, who is supposed to be the most powerful wizard of all freaking time can : 1) Lose his powers so easily ? 2) Not see his own death, and what will happen afterwards ? 3) Not trying to do anything to prevent this whole thing from happening ? That's only if you think he actually saw himself die just like that stone-of-future-high-priest-kinda-guy from the Sinbad series! (If you're an Elliot Knight fan you know what I'm talking about and that's the only example I had in mind)
Well, Merlin is supposed to be the most powerful wizard because he obtained his powers thanks to the holy grail. And he remained in the light. But nimue also obtained her powers from the holy grail so she’s as strong as Merlin by default (in terms of power, he’s far more experienced tho, which is why he’s more “powerful” than the dark ones, because they live a short live and have less experience with magic compared to Merlin) BUT, Emma was already powerful, she’s the savior and also the dark one, that combined with the fact that she had Excalibur, is the reason why Merlin lost his powers, even she told Merlin “You told me how powerful I am let’s use that power to free you from Excalibur” And about the whole “not seeing his death” thing, I think Merlin saw it but knew everything was gonna be fine at the end. Or he just didn’t see it. Even he said that some things just doesn’t appear to him, like nimue’s future, or Arthur’s betrayal
Merlin probably knew he was going to die, just didn't knew why and Emma (Saviour plus Dark One) isn't more powerfull than Merlin, but is powerfull enough to do what she did,Merlin is powerfull enough to do that as well or even kill her,but he doesn't cuz he will turned Dark.
Season 5 could have been so much better if Colin would have just been the dark one all along. Jennifer’s portrayal of dark swan was laughable. I likes season one Emma but concurrent seasons ruined her!
"Careful, dearie, that's the oldest heart in all the realms. Let's cut it open and count the rings."😂
You can always count on a dark one to find a loophole to every problem.
it's amazing that even through everything nimue and merlin still love each other
That ended up no where
Why do I love the way Killian ran at Merlin to get his heart? Ugh I love him as a dark one even if he's crazy 😂

lets cut it open and count the rings
Nimue: I'm still evil and want to do lots of bad stuff, but i still love you, wizard that that rejects me because i'm evil and wants to defeat me

I still don't really understand how Nimue can help to take out the darkness inside Emma and Hook
It was a clue that she was the key to learning about the dark one.
Nimue held the fire that could be used to connect the two fragments of the blade together. Once whole, it could get rid of darkness.
I’m sure there was an easier to get back to Storybrooke. A magic bean or the wand that brought them to Camelot to begin with.
His heart is pure
Poor Merlin😭from all the hell he had been through, he had to see the woman he loves crushing his heart as well😭😭😭
How can someone destroy themself? I mean Merlin said that Nimue can destroy the Darkness, but Nimue is the Darkness, so? Someone help me out here.

When did Merlin say that? In which episode?
@@samanthablakeney7153 I think he was leaving a clue. Nimue was the key after all learning about the 1st dark one

I got shivers. goddamn.
This whole arc made me so angry
Same
Same u can't just put the greatest wizard ever lived to just kill off without having see much from him
Hook’s voice is so hot so is he in general😍😍😍😍😍😍
daddy Hook😩😍🖤
That's why they called them the Dark Ones
Wait if Emma easily can knock Hook out why didn’t she do that to stop him from casting the Dark Curse -A.D.
Because when Hook crushed Merlin´s heart , she got shocked and while she approached Merlin, Hook used heart ashes and activated the Dark Curse.
Can you do the scene where Zelena meets her baby and the hospital scene with missing Baby Hood? That would be awesome!
did Merlin says the dark ones have found me
Well all us men have been there having ones heart crushed by the one you cared for most but not like that and well for a majority not by a man
She didn't love him though. Hook really loved Emma and Rumple really loved Belle that's why they won and Nimue lost in the end and they didn't.
Evacuation The Dark Emma Swan She Against Of Dark Villains
So Merlin got his heart snatched without even a fight wtf
But how could nimue help them defeat the dark one ?
How does merlin know of the curse?
Hydrasaur the holy grail gives him power and knowledge
And he can see into the future
Hydrasaur
Furthermore although he was a tree, he was aware of everything happened around him and there was several Dark Curse.
I think I might be missing something but why can merlin see the dark one voices
who was Merlin talking to?
It's a message he's sending to Regina in the future
How can Merlin still see the dark ones if he lost his magic and is no longer connected to excalibur?! 🤷
#hart #chush
I don't like Hook. I always disagreed about Emma and him.
This message was useless , nimue did nothing
no
