Glad to see that you have settled on your final layout at last. The only one that you have to satisfy with the layout is you, so don't be pushed into making changes to it by others that have no connection to it. Quite an interesting way of connecting the border sections without the use of the Carrera red track clips. Looking forward to seeing the finished layout, and how you keep the elevated track at the required height.
Great solution to the track borders , I haven't the expertise to do laser cutting so I cut mine from laminate flooring 🤷😁but it's still way cheaper than the crazy costs of factory boarders. Great post Danny👍
What are your plans for the inner open areas. Maybe some sloping green felt. May I suggest some Mario Bros or Dragonball Z characters stationed around? 🤓

You can have 2 out of 3. Cheap & good, but not fast. Thats how i prefer it......
