You have a great cross section of cars. Some of witch I would like to try. I am new to the hobby. I only have Carrera 124 scale cars. I have one Scalextric car that I can not run on my track (The Blues Mobile). So far I am having a lot fun with this hobby. Great video thanks.

Car looks cool. You did good. I'm jonesing to do a couple of these myself. I've been thinking about buying some of the cheapo Scalecxtric non-branded Ford Thunderbirds. A few years earlier than the Days of Thunder cars. But they'll pass. And paint a few of those schemes. Especially want to get the Mello Yello Car... might do a couple of those. And that will be a fun racing set.

Looking good Dan coming out really nice , doing 2 tone is not easy until you perfect taping skills , the trick that I have learned from the pro model guys always lay the light color down first , then tape off lighter color , then first shoot same light color on the seam of tape line so if there was a chance of bleed through you sealed it up with same color , then shoot your dark color . this will ensure a nice crisp paint line . as far as decals again pro model guy tips n tricks , apply 1 light coat of clear before applying decals this makes it much easier to maneuver the decal and also lets the decal conform to the shape easier , take you time there is more time then you think to play around setting decals just keep wetting them down. hope this helps it helped me as I was struggling with the same issues .

Doing fine for first time on decals- next time you two tone spray a little color into a cup and use a fine brush for touching up what you need to do.

Thank you for posting this, such an iconic car. Now I want to go watch Days of Thunder!

Put a gloss coat on next time before doing the decals. They will slide around easier, lay down better and the carrier film won't glare and shout "I'm a decal!"

You're doing great Danny. Decals can be a real pain. The only variation I do is, I put a few drops of Micro Sol in the water on the plate. Then put a folded paper towel in the water to absorb it. Place the decal on the wet paper towel to wet it. Wet the model surface with the same water so the decal will slide around. Once positioned blot the water out with paper towel and Q-Tips. Then use the Micro Set on a brush to secure it.

Try dabbing excess water with a sponge. Looks great Brother!

Thanks for posting Danny .I remember doing hundreds of these building airfix models when i was younger .we used warm water and a tiny bit of washing up liquid ,just to help it slide around a bit .look forward to seeing the finished car after you address the green paint job 👍
