  • The All New 2021 Marin Alpine Trail Carbon 1 is $4389 (Canadian) and very few ended up in the real world, so Marin carried over the bike into 2022 without any changes - except raised prices.
    This is 1 of 4 different versions of the Alpine Trail - this is the less expensive of two Carbon versions.
    It is a full suspension mountain bike with 150mm rear suspension, 160mm fork. The main frame is carbon. The rear end is aluminum.
    This is one of the best price/spec all-mountain enduro full suspension mountain bikes offered.
    In this video, I go over the details of this mountain bike - components, geometry, close-ups and my thoughts about those things.
    Bike Bros. is a bicycle shop in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. Carrying bikes from Marin, Giant, Pivot and Rocky Mountain. The shop's focus is mountain bikes however there is a good selection of ebikes, city bikes, gravel, road and kids bikes - and all price points (adult bikes start around $600)
    The shop's website is www.bikebros.ca
    If your community is in Canada and you don't have a Marin dealer to help you, we are happy to ship many of the Marin bikes we offer.

      Got mine a couple of days ago and I honestly can’t stop staring at it! Lovely bit of kit capable of much more than I can throw at it. !

    Beautiful looking bike, and pretty well spec'd for the $.
    Putting this on my list.
    Really enjoyed the crisp close ups.
    By any chance is this Yari fork capable of a damper upgrade? If so, which damper kit?
    Ride On!

    Nice vid. Just for reference, the tubes (with brass valve stems) on my 27.5+ bike weighed 800g! Glad to see them gone.

      Thanks! Yup, ditching tubes will make a big weight difference and improve tire performance.

    loved your vid (greetings from the UK btw). I have this exact bike on order and its due to get here in a couple weeks. Is there tubeless rim tape on the rims already or do i have to buy some and put it on myself. Thanks

    Nice bike! What is the max seatpost insertion depth?

      On the large it looks like about 24cm from the top of the seattube.

      The frame and geometry is identical but the forks, shock, brakes and I believe the rims are different too.

    Any insight as to why 4 000 $ + bikes don't come standard with tubeless setups from factory? Anybody into biking to the point where they would spend that amount of money will have it tubeless before the first ride.

      You can't ship with sealant im pretty sure is why.

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Giant is the only company I know who ships bikes without tubes, valves in place and sealant to install. From different companies I've heard practical answers like the inflated tire with tube inside protects the rim during shipping ( which makes sense).

    • @petergibson7287
      @petergibson7287 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would you expect that? Do you think the shipper, and the shop staff, want to deal with the mess of sealant leaking everywhere?

    • @devinbyrnes8058
      @devinbyrnes8058 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@petergibson7287 Giant can make it happen. Just ship the supplies and.let the bike shop set it up. That could be a benefit of buying a bike shop bike.

    • @petergibson7287
      @petergibson7287 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@devinbyrnes8058 That's already the benefit of buying a bike from a proper shop. The supplier of the bike has nothing to do with it.
      It's been ten years since I worked in a shop, but even back in those days, I would hand the bike over to the customer, set tubeless, if that's what they wanted. As far back as 2008, lots of Specialized bikes (over a certain price point) came tubeless ready, and the staff just had to add sealant and seat the tyres. Other models didn't come prepped so well, but I could still sell the set up to the customer, if it's something they wanted.

      yup, all the bike suppliers have recently updated when bikes will become available and dates are getting pushed pretty far into the future - there are problems ranging from a shipping container shortage to parts shortages from almost all the suppliers.

    It's pronounced Ass -uh- guy. It's a Zulu war spear. The tire was designed by Greg Minnaar.
