  • Redesign had a very limited release in 2021 due to supply issues so it remains the same for 2022 - new frame geometry, carbon main frame, amazing parts on this Best In Class value/performance full suspension mountain bike.
    At $5499 (Canadian), this bike is such a stand out for offering Fox 38 Performance Elite fork, DPX2 rear shock, Shimano Deore XT/SLX drivetrain and brakes.
    Beyond the amazing parts on this, the bike's geometry is very progressive and delivers angles and measurements that many riders have been hoping to see on a bike in "real world prices".
    150mm rear travel, 160mm travel fork. 480mm reach on size large, 430 chainstays, 78 degree seat tube and 63.5 degree headtube. Added up: a bike that could compete against the big boys on the Enduro Race scene one day, and be out enjoying and aggressive up/down trail ride the next. Great performing suspension and geometry that ties it all together.

    This is simply amazing! I'm pulling the trigger on the burly 2021 Alpine Trail XR. The build level is unreal...

    Subscribing for your Alpine Trail love. I shopped for 2.5 years for the perfect MTB for tech trails and I think this it the one, above all others.

    Hi, Thanks for the in depth review. I'm looking to get this bike and i have 1 question. Do you know if i can remove the existing rear brake and install a new one just by removing the housing from the lever ? Or will the barb installed not allow me to slide in/out the brake line ?

    It is a really cool bike with a good prize. But I think Radon has enduro bikes for the same prize but lighter and with full kashima suspension and better parts

    Which is the better first mountain bike? The Marin Rift Zone 3 or this one?

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There would be many different opinions on this. I would say the Rift Zone is a better first mountain bike because it doesn't require to be ridden quite as fast to perform well and will be a bit easier to manage in many situations.

    I have just purchased one of these bad boys and I am also tall (6'2 with long legs). The x fusion dropper is not enough for me. I'm looking at a one up dropper as well, however, you mentioned you were going to put a 210mm dropper on it, but the the maximum factory-reamed insertion depth is 230mm and a one up 150mm dropper has an insert length of 237mm being the biggest dropper you could install that would fit all the way into the frame. A 210mm one up dropper has an insert length of 297mm. Have you installed a 210mm? How much does it hang out of the frame? 297-210=87mm? I really want it to be able to drop all the way down for the downhill, but I also need the height to get up the hills. Really interested as to what size one up dropper people have put in the carbon 2's. I'd love some advice/help 🙏🏼87mm of dropper post migjt get in the way for me.

      Hi, I had no problems with a 210mm dropper. The insertion depth on the dropper post is if the collar is flush against the top of the seatpost clamp. Knowing how much post is required above the seatpost clamp from your current setup, just subtract that amount from One Ups total post length to see how much actual insertion results from your ride height.

    I don't know if I just missed it, but is this frame made it Taiwan just to make sure?

      Actually, I'm not certain. I assume Indonesia as that is where production of all the other Marin frames happens.

    Do you know the difference of weight beetwee this one and the alpine trail 7 or xr?

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, 35.5 lbs on the Alpine Trail 7 (no pedals) vs 34.5 for the Alpine Trail Carbon 1 (no pedals). I believe I've read that the XR is about 36.5 but haven't seen one in person to weigh.

    TRANCE X ADVANCED PRO 29 1 or Marin Alpine Trail Carbon 2? Which one is the best overall value and bike?

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is tough. Trance wins for weight, wheels, full carbon and Maestro suspension. Alpine Trail wins for drivetrain, fork and a bit cheaper..

      @@BikeBrosBikeShop Thanks for the reply and the incredible reviews! I just watched the Reign Advanced Pro 29 2 review which sounds incredible, too. So many choices. What would you buy? The mountain near my house has long climbs with crazy downhill descents.

      Hi, unfortunately with the huge demand for bikes,, Marin hasn't been able to give us shipping dates. We have quite a few on order. Depending on size, we're hoping to see the next batch in the next couple months.

      @@BikeBrosBikeShop I heard u say u been riding it pretty hard, I just thought maybe u haven't noticed it yet. I know a couple people that bought real nice/expensive bikes which are being used as nothing more than decorations for their garage because they're to scared to even get them dirty! 😆! Anyways I live all the way in Kansas and enjoy watching your videos! I hope u continue on...Good job!

    I have a 2020 and it’s full carbon. But yours and mine and not actually full carbon because the rear fork is alloy…

    Wait what ? With carbon frame this bikes still weigh almost 16kg ?? I’ll stick with alloy frame I guess …

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Remember fork and tires/tubes account for some of this weight. And the spec is still better value than most alloy bikes.
