exiting out of steam? if you’re talking about steam then you’re supposed to minimize big picture mode(it gives you the option on steam) with your controller (NOT YOUR MOUSE). when you open fivem make sure you move the controller around A LOT before joining a city until it says on the bottom right corner that you have activated your controller

I know best buy sells pc controllers for 20 dollars and it is wired. It works perfectly and it doesn't require anything but a simple plug in. Hope this helps!

You go into fivem then hit the steam overlay by pressing shift and tab, then you go into controller config in the top right of the screen then go thru the process, while doing it you can choose the game pad option and now it comes up game pad whenever I go into fivem and controller works now. Hope this help you guys 👍🏻
