As a former tow truck driver. Were paid by the tow. Depending on the vehicle will dictate how you tow it. Front wheel drive you can just hook up the front and go. That red car was all wheel drive so they had to put the wheels up off the ground also. Rear wheel drive we would just connect and raise the back. I personally liked just tow with the flat bed tow truck but that took substantial more room to get a car on. With the tow trucks you saw, they are much quicker to snatch and go. With contract towing they tow company will get X amount for each tow, usually at a discount for the lot owner-at least that's how it was done here in northwest florida. It can be a confrontational business. We didn't have body cams or dash cams but now most tow drivers will just because of the situation they can be put in. They are just doing their job! Happy new year Adam!

That ride on the back of the truck is called the "Whip".. a. mini version. When I was in elementary school in the 1970's, we had a Strawberry Festival every year (in NJ) and the rides would come on trucks like this. We also had a mini Ferris wheel and the Rock and Roll where it's like a Giant seesaw that rocks you back and forth. There is a large version of that in Busch Gardens here in Tampa. :) #memories
Growing up in New York, I spent many a days visiting my grandma in Flushing Queens. Those truck amusement park rides used to just drive around for the kids. I remember that whip and also a small pirate ship. The pirate ship was my favorite, it was powered by the truck driver getting out and swinging it by hand.
Wow you just reminded me that back in the 60's my mom used to get one of those amusement park trucks to come to our house for our birthdays. I think there were 2 rides, a tiny carousel and maybe just a cheesy horsey ride like the ones in front of markets. I can't completely remember but it was really cool.
I need to check this out one day. I really enjoy when you cover the classic car cruise. My stepfather has a classic car and immediately when I saw it "classic car alert" popped into my head. The one speed tow truck probably had the controls in the cab which makes it faster.
14:24 we use to have these trucks when we was kids ,they even has a viking ship version with the viking ship swinging back & forth & just inches away from the cab
When I was a kid back in the 60s, we moved to Hawaii. And when you saw a guy with a truck like that only it had a miracle round on the back of it, and he would charge us a dime to ride on it. He would come by once or twice a month and we would save our money. We loved it. I haven't seen one of those since. That guy's truck brought back a lot of happy memories for me.
18:35 was awesome to see an old classic with Ontario plates!! Wonder if the owner drove it down there or did he trailer it?? Either way I’m going to have to check out one of the old town cruise nights when I’m there in Feb. I stay about 3 blocks away from there but usually get sidetracked by the food trucks across the street lol.

Another great video. Seen plenty of towing videos. They mostly tow a vehicle from the front. Rear wheel drive vehicles they have to put the little wheels under the rear tires to be able to pull it away. Congrats on your new house. Stay safe stay healthy
Our first visit to the Old Town Cruise was in 1994 when it first started and we've been many times since. Happy New Year Adam, be happy in your new home.
That arcade that was located in celebration suites used to be a days inn and suites . The days inn was next to it and was sold off and named Roomba until it was closed and demoed around 2020 .. my family used to stay at that Daysinn in the 80s and 90s and I used to come visit it periodically since then ..
There has been Dukes General Lee's there before. I think one owner is not in the area any more. One year there was an original one from the remake Dukes of Hazard. I've been there many times with my movie cars. I'm sure you've seen them before. I will be at the Make-a-Wish Celebration car show this April as well. Been doing that for many years.
If you buy a classic car/truck you will end up regretting it. Especially if you don't know how to work on it yourself. However, you would probably enjoy a golf cart style vehicle. Especially if you are allowed to use them in Celebration. And you can sell it easier than a real vehicle if you find out you don't want it anymore.
The red car you showed getting towed was all wheel drive, so they have to keep all 4 wheels off the ground to tow it. That is what those two sets of wheels, and the metal tubes were for. We always make at least one visit to Old Town for the car cruise when we are vacationing in Disney. We generally get there a bit earlier, between 4 and 5, and have always been able to park in the lot right next to the coaster. Never had to pay, never had to worry about getting towed.
No the tow truck isn’t waiting for the person. I was in a parking spot in Pigeon forge after hours and caught them with my truck lifted in the air. Cost me $100 to just sit it back down on the ground
Happy New Year Adam! Your vids always have such good audio. So many out there have no idea how to put their audio nsync with the video. You are the professional, for sure.

We didn’t have Uber back then so they had to call somebody to come and pick them up. The tow yard was closed by then and they were closed the next day (Sunday) so I know that they couldn’t get their car until Monday! Oh well . . .
